Lani Meneses

been waiting for this all day 👀👏

Loki

Omg!!! It’s happening! Everybody stay calm!! (The lies we tell ourselves…I’m beyond excited and have been waiting all day for this!)

Charles Grimes

2nd quarter quell = 50th Hunger Games. With Katniss coming in on game 74.

Loyd M

Hearing that the nearest IMAX to you guys is 90 miles away makes me appreciate the malls around me more. I have at least two IMAX theaters within a 15-mile radius. 😅

patrick

Ooooooooh, you guys have NO idea what you're in for😂 having read the book, all I can say that it seems they kept the movie very close to the source material Edit: Its so fun hearing you guys guess what scene could be what😂😌

Lauren

Chills from Reign O’er Me! And the casting is flawless!

Ron B.

Hunger Games in November...Harry Potter in December. The end of this year is going to feel like the 2010's again.

kimmy

Can't wait for the movie!

Zen Reacts

Bro yall need to put trailer in the title I legit thought I missed the movies release somehow XD

Mandy Van Den Bogaard

Joseph even talks a bit like Woody's Haymitch. Ooh man this book really did a number on me. I cannot wait for the movie to do the same 😅😄

Badd Medicine

We’re looking forward to hearing from those who’ve read the book and seeing if they stuck the landing.

Chris Retzlaff

Huge cast...this is going to be fantastic

hallokween

i’m so excited for this movie! i love the books. can’t wait to watch with you guys

Jess

Its the 50th hunger games. Second quarter quell. Sorry wasn't sure if that was clear. Every 25 years its a special game. I believe the 25th was the districts voted for the tributes (unsure) the 50th is double tributes and the 75th (the last hunger games in Catching Fire) they reaped from the previous winners. Again unsure if you had this info.

MJ

I love how the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes had a kinda 50s aesthetic (10th Games) and this one has a kind of 70s aesthetic (50th Games) to give the audience relatable visual cues about the passage of time/changing trends. I'm ready to be so emotionally devastated I have to be carried out of the theater. This trailer makes me want to re-read the book (something I said I would never be doing). This is the single most brutal book in the series and, as you can imagine, that’s saying something.

Megan

Definitely have to see more of him but trailer alone, Ralph as Snow isn't hitting the mark for me. That aside, I'm so excited. Most of the young iterations I think are doing well playing established characters.

Jeff K.

I have total faith because Ralph is one of the world’s greatest actors… but part of me wonders… what if they had cast Kiefer?

ZuZu

That bridge the train crosses looks exactly like the Gordie Howe International Bridge that's set to open soon between Detroit and Windsor. Seriously, it looks almost exactly like it.

Karina Alarcon

This book is so heartbreaking, I'm not sure if they're gonna show everything as raw as the book describes it. Can't wait for this movie

ZuZu

I'm so excited about this! I think it'll be worth watching it in IMAX. I'm hoping for that incredible transition from traditional aspect ratio to IMAX full screen that they did in Catching Fire.

ZuZu

The casting for these movies has always been amazing, but they've really hit it out of the park with this one. It's a huge cast and it looks absolutely perfect, especially for the younger versions of characters we already know. Give this casting director all the awards!

ZuZu

I haven't read the book, but I can't wait to. We already know how Haymitch's story ends for him and his loved ones, but I'm excited to watch it unfold, and fully expecting to be completely devastated.

Blind Entertainment

Been waiting all day for this! Trust me yall aren’t mentally, and emotionally ready for this movie!

Megan

Outside of HP, Ralph has been one note for me in the few projects I have seen. I just don't gravitate towards him. For this particular movie, so far I'm not getting the essence of Snow. But again, I need to see more than 3 seconds of him. I like Kiefer, though I always preferred Donald, but I think we would just have Snow in face only. I wish we got young Snow back and they just aged him up. I don't know the actor's name, but I thought he did well.

ZuZu

Doomsday in December, too. I feel like theatre-going is making a comeback!

ZuZu

The author and the director were working on the screenplay together while she was writing the book. I expect it to be very very close since they wrote it simultaneously.

ZuZu

Right? I live in a small city (250k population) that you can drive across in under 30 minutes, and we've got two IMAX theatres. I'm suddenly feeling very lucky to have that.

ZuZu

Answer and Oak trying to help MQ make the sign is sending me. You guys are the best!

ZuZu

The author and the director wrote the screenplay simultaneously as she was writing the book. I think they're going to be very, very close.

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

Megan - have you seen both Schindler's List and The Grand Budapest Hotel? Very much not a one-note actor. But if he's not your thing, then he's not your thing.

Megan

I have not, both are movies that don't interest me. Just watch a clip of him in both and yeah, still playing the same type of character he always does. HP and Prince of Egypt (granted it was just voice work) are the only standouts to me where he branches out. I liked him in Kingsmen but again, he played that same character type in the film as all his other roles. It clearly works for him but he's just there to me. I was expecting range like say Damian Lewis in Band of Brothers vs Homeland vs Billions. I'm not attached to this actor, just the first person I could think of. Rhys Ifans is another good example for varied roles/range. For Ralph, it's more "is he going to use his stage voice or talk softly?" for the movie. If that makes sense. I always know what character he is going to play when he is cast in a film.

MJ

@ZuZu A common sentiment I saw after reading the book was “actually I’m surprised Haymitch didn’t drink even more.”

Cyangerrs

Same! The book wrecked me in 2025 and I have been avoiding to reread it since... but I might have to, at least before I watch the movie. I'm not ready. 😭

Amaia

Wow, you guys are quick! As a huge HG fan who reads the books and watches all the movies in the theater, I'm SO excited for this. I'm still reading TBOSAS so I haven't read this book yet, but I predict I'll like this one more (personally didn't love TBOSAS even though most people did). The arena setting is beautiful and my favorite so far. This movie looks a lot more action packed compared to the rest and the vibrant colors + focus on turning the games into a big show definitely sets it apart. Haymitch’s casting is perfect and I like his acting already. I'm hoping we get to learn more about how the games transformed over time, including how Snow's ideas were added. Is that supposed to be Cinna at 1:26?! It looks and sounds like a younger version. I hope in the future Suzanne writes a book for Cinna's backstory, how he became a designer, and other tributes he's designed for. I think it would be amazing since we've never seen Cinna as a kid and fans love him. We've also never seen Finnick's origins/games yet so I'm hoping to get a book/movie for that too. Can you tell I never want the HG series to end? 😂

Andrew

Yeah I’m not sure about Ralph as Snow either. But I do think he is a great actor. His performance in both 28 Years Later movies is phenomenal, particularly in The Bone Temple where he takes on a more prominent role.

Ashley Weaver

I read Sunrise on the Reaping when it came out. I had nightmares for at least a month. Waking up screaming nightmares. I don't know what changed from the original books and movies to the prequels. Maybe more of the wars in the world being televised. But I read the first prequel once and saw the movie once and I didn't sleep well for several weeks after seeing the first sequel. If the Sunrise on the Reaping movie is anywhere close to the book. I may pass on seeing the movie. There are scenes in the book that I can still vividly see in my head.

Diablos Cafe

Snow saying “And may the odds be ever…..😏” gave me chills

Josh G

yeah but people should be supporting original ideas and original movies and going out and watching them. nobody goes to see anything but the remakes and the the redos so that's all that gets made unfortunately. I don't think new generations need a new version of Harry Potter. the old version still hold up really well. young kids won't notice the aged CGI.

Marie RammGirl

I know its set before the original movie, but still good to see the games being played again, this trailer looks awesome! was cool seeing ya all do the HG finger salute & Answer helping Quinn with his hehe, now the long wait til November, look forward to watching this with best Badd Medicine.

Jecxxy

You should atleast rewatch catching fire before watching this movie

Erimar

Yea you’re right. The 25th the districts voted who to send in

Mariah Lovegood

Also Ballard of Song Bird and Snake would be good because it seems like they forgot most of that. Lol

Charles Grimes

God yes. That one broke me for a minute.

Stephen Hert

The book is the best one she's written, and the saddest. Snow is at his worst in this one. Fuck snow. That is all. I can't wait for this movie, because it's going to destroy me and I can't wait. It's so GOOD.

Stephen Hert

Same! Snow is 10x worse in this book than he is at any other time. Cried multiple times. Ugh!

Demanda

Don’t forget that we know from the original series that the arena changes every year and often has a gimmick; in HG2 the arena was clock-themed, for example. So what you’re seeing here is not necessarily representative of other Hunger Games from this time period, this is just this year’s arena.

sevenprettyboys

I read the book when it came out last year. So far, the trailer looks very book accurate. I'm still wary of how they are going to include some of the things from the book, but we will have to wait and see. To see the casting being announced real time over the course of a few weeks, was such a treat. The casting directors COOKED. Did you know that McKenna Grace as Maysilee, and Elle Fanning as young Effie Trinket were fan castings? (by "fan castings," I mean that fans imagined these actors for these characters by themselves, but that the casting directors held auditions and ultimately landed on the same actors for those roles.) I also love that the actor who plays young Haymitch is a relatively unknown actor who went through their rigorous audition rounds and was chosen to be best suitable to play a young Haymitch. "I think it's gonna be a fun ride" --- WELP. I cried 5 pages into reading the book. I'm considering taking a whole box of tissues with me to the cinemas. Brace yourselves. That's all I will say. Take care, folks!

CeeEl

Just a reminder that this is the 2nd quarter quell (50th hunger games), not the 2nd hunger games.

Natacha P

I've read all the books, this one is by far the darkest/saddest and this trailer has me very hopeful it's staying accurate. There are things from the book I doubt they can show, it's rather horrific at points, but the casting is SO GOOD. PLEASE rewatch the other movies prior, maybe as a patreon bonus reaction? I'd love to see your reactions for a second-time watch and you'll be properly brushed up on the lore for this movie!

Natacha P

I'd love for them to rewatch the movies and share a re-watch reaction, it would be fun to see how their opinions have changed since their first watch!

Natacha P

It's shown in the trailer! When they go up to the arena the aspect ratio changes.

Kuha Mo

Havent you guys seen the first prequel already?

Lily Neel

Yall should watch the hunger games fan film about that inspired I guess haymitches story but it is worth it to read the books and rewatch the movies cause when you listen to read the books you’ll start seeing things that didn’t get put in the movie that makes a little more sense to the plot line
