Shay3

I used to pray for time like this 😩😍

Brianna Blackfire

Queen Charlotte is the best season in the Bridgerton series, to me. I have rewatched it numerous times and I can’t help but cry or tear up every single rewatch!

Kubochaan

ive been refreshing like a crazy person yaaaay thanks for the three episodes!! we're eating good today

vaygatti

THREEEEEEEEEE!!!????? OH MY YES!

AllyBoo124

yall are spoiling us today

Vol

THREE EPISODES?? Let’s goooooo!!

Hollie Daniels

Yes fiction inspired by fact, for sure but majority of this is true story apart from of course the bridgertons but Queen charlotte and her husband went through a lot. Also had a lot of kids etc, glad you guys are enjoyingggg

LindyRamdass

What? We're getting 3 episodes today. I had plans you guys smh

Rawaby 1204

I love how you guys have been spoiling us

Kickinthescience

She definitely sounds like a younger version of Charlotte

L

Unlike all the Bridgerton seasons, there was no original book for the basis of this spinoff. They wrote a book at the same time as these episodes. A lot of the material around QC and George are rooted in history, like their love, many kids, and George’s mental health.

roxie c

3?????? MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME

Kickinthescience

Queen Charlotte doesn’t play about her wigs

Peaches

Made my entire day!!! The Best season by a landslide 😆😆

Marsss

I was NOT expecting 3 episodes!!! 😭🫶💃

mae_annabelle

not me making sure my work calendar is clear for the rest of the afternoon bc i will not have anyone interrupt me while i watch these episodes lol

Halle

Sorrows. Sorrows. Prayers 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Amanda Diaz

In the future they post the episodes on their website earlier than on here 🙂

Aria Isara

Didn't they announce 2 eps when they shared the schedule yesterday? Was the surprise planned all along or they just couldn't stop after ep 2 and decided to watch ep 3 too? 😄

Knightmare

Y'all must be finishing this in 2 weeks? 😭😂 Love it. That's exactly the passion I want for this show 😎

Alyssa Dyson

thanks for the 3 episodes this is by far the best season IMO. Cant wait for you guys to finish it 💜

Emily Barron

I’m so excited to see this reaction because Queen Charlotte is my absolute favorite

Jeff K.

Sorry to interject here but: Diamond Dave! Hulu just released a surprise standalone episode of The Bear that's just Mikey and Richie... so it sounds like exactly the type of prequel episode you've been asking for! It's called "Gary" and it's about those two road tripping to Gary, Indiana.

Amanda Diaz

i think in the chat he said they will be reacting to that

Jeff K.

Thanks! I never remember to check the chats...

Ana

I was mid Dr Pepper sip/typing a work email and then I remembered wait!! It’s TUESDAY, it’s finally Badd Medicine Queen Charlotte day!! I immediately closed my work laptop and opened up Patreon 🤣🤣 I worked over the weekend, I deserve this break today lmao.

Bri

Three episodes!?! Y'all trying to get to Bridgerton season 3 huh? 😄 Thaaaank you!!!!! 💕 Best. Day. Ever!!! 🦎

Bri

I've been saying this all week 😂

FD

So excited for this! S2 is my favourite season but I think QC is the best overall season

Husna Samadi

its an odd number of episodes,5. maybe they pushed it up so more Bridgerton S3 will be released this month.

L

It’s 6 episodes

Liam Harrold

GR is George Royal All monarchs have Royal in their signature like ERII queen Elizabeth Royal 2nd

Julia

Did you guys catch that little violet (lord ledgers daughter) is Mama Violet bridgerton?

Ren

GRIII actually stands for George Rex the third. The R in Latin indicates either Rex (king) or Regina (queen).

Kiss the Librarian

1. No, there is not consent between Danbury and her husband. Young women in her position, who were sold into marriage at a young age without much understanding of sex, did not have much choice. Defy their family, become homeless. Say no to their husband, become homeless. Or worse. In episode 2 Danbury clearly said she not only did not enjoy her first time having sex, but it was painful and terrifying. She is agreeing to this under duress. 2. Just because a show presents a scene with comedic music and a goofy abuser, doesn't mean it was the right choice for the subject matter - especially when the same show tries to then tackle the same subject with a serious tone two minutes later. That is one of the biggest flaws of this otherwise quality miniseries. Just because a show tries to present a scene as funny doesn't mean it is. Agree that it's interesting and complex that Danbury has some compassion for her goofy abuser and encourages him to feel some pride after her efforts to improve their standing in this racist society. But she isn't only doing that for him, and her doing that does not mean she forgives his mistreatment of her. Edit: Wrote this after the reaction to episode 2, glad to see the young Lady Danbury's perspective hit home after episode 3. Always like to see Diamond Dave clock consent issues. I agree with DD that we didn't need that many scenes of Lady Danbury's marital rape to get it, and disagree with the other guys that they "had to" portray it with a comedic tone. We'll see next episode how the show portrays male centered trauma only in serious terms and it furthers the plot/character arc.

.

Lady Danbury is simply doing her 'duty' as a wife by the time period's norms. I wouldn't say there is consent but rather, she lets her husband do what he wants. There is mutual respect but no love, which is not unusual when it comes to arranged marriage.

🌸Foof🌸

I don’t think they did lol

Amanda Diaz

Not sure if y'all caught, that's Violet when she was little with her mom & dad.

Emily G

I really hope we finally get an Outlander reaction after this is over! I would love to see your guys reaction to it! 🙏

Shanice British

Omg Christmas came early 😭😭 I love y’all

Megan Schnese

Violet Ledger - the little girl with the dad you like and the mom you hate - is Violet Bridgerton, aka Mama Bridgerton. I wasn't sure if you guys understood that.

r

3 EPISODES???????

Crystal

I feel like we need to add some nuance to Lady Danbury and her husband dynamic. She did not like him at all, but at the end of the day, they are both black lol So like, its one thing for her to hate him, but another when it’s how society treat them and their people as a whole. That’s why she’s supportive and softer in that way when it comes to him expressing his doubts on their standing and what people think of him. There’s a level of camaraderie/loyalty she has to him as someone who looks like her and is her husband, as they navigate society despite her despising him.

Ailene Evangelista

what??? three in one drop! we're eating good friends.

Bee

Responding to the discussion at the end of Episode : Ummm Lord and Lady Danbury scenes are depictions of spousal r#p@. I’ve always found it interesting how folks react to those scenes and how (I think by design of the show writers) it’s supposed to confuse people and most folks watching don’t even realize this fact. Agatha never says no because she is not allowed to say no in the marriage. Women are fully subject to men in every way. She cannot tell him the truth or speak with him honestly - she is a good wife by supporting him, managing his expectations, ensuring his needs are always met and making sure above all else his wants and desires are met and she must make herself disappear in order to accomplish this. I think when folks look a period dramas the expectations for SA are screaming, crying, fear, and expressions of pain - but none of those were options for women. The issue isn’t that she “never said no” it’s that she’s NOT allowed to say no. Wives are never asked - it’s not a discussion it is a requirement. Consent requires a yes, not the absence of a no - and she never says yes.

Lana23x

I think you guys might be misremembering the conversation around the Great Experiment in the first episode. They didn’t get a brown queen to help with the experiment, they started the Great Experiment after they (accidentally) arranged marriage with a brown girl with “moor blood”. They’re all surprised to find out she’s “that brown”, but it was too late to cancel the wedding and so princess Augusta came up with the idea of the Great Experiment on the spot, so that it would no longer be an issue that the queen was brown. So unity and inclusion was never their true objective, it was merely an afterthought, something they HAD to do AFTER they arranged marriage with a brown girl!

Lana23x

I agree that it was distasteful for the show to present the bedroom scenes as comedic, they should have tried a different approach. But i feel like a real and honest depiction of what are essentially rape scenes would have been far too dark for a light and airy romance show like bridgerton. So while i do not agree with the comedic approach, i understand why they made the choice. This isn’t outlander. Wish they presented it differently though

Isolde

The repetition of those scenes was intentional to emphasize how normalized and ongoing the situation was. Such as doing it many times a day for instance. If they would only add like 2 scenes of it we wouldn’t emphasize as much with Lady D as we do now, it could easily feel to some viewed “well that ain’t so bad”. Now we see her constantly being treated as an object just used for his own satisfaction and sport. It also serves as a stark contrast to the passionate, developing romance of Queen Charlotte and King George. Which she often refers to when expanding the marital act to Charlotte, it is not always pleasant.

Steven Jump

100% agree with you. I would love a 2nd season of QC.

Kiss the Librarian

@Lana23x I don't want to give away spoilers, but basically the miniseries deals with trauma using a serious tone in other episodes, but it centers a different character. Some feel it is also heavy handed and badly paced, others feel it adds to the character arc and romance. Overall, some praise QC for being more serious than the rest of the Bridgerton seasons. I'm not saying I wanted to see a bunch of serious rape scenes either, of course. I'm saying that serious content is shown in the miniseries without detracting from the story.

Gabby

The gasp I let out was so crazy I almost choked and I’m not being dramatic

Kiss the Librarian

@Isolde I disagree. The rape could have been portrayed seriously once for introduction, then imply it just happened by having Danbury hastily bathe with some dialogue referencing it, and perhaps the last time when Lord Danbury dies. I get that Lady Danbury's experience is supposed to contrast the passionate love of QC and Lady Violet's story. (Dubious, given the early humiliation ritual Charlotte and George were engaged in, being played for "romance"). And clearly, seeing the marital rape over and over again doesn't exactly make all viewers empathize with Lady Danbury right away - they have to hear her spell it out for them in Ep 3 that she loathed her husband and his memory rots. Perhaps this was intentional on the part of the writers, to lull viewers into taking the issue less seriously only for Danbury to make a speech, as if to pull a "gotcha" on viewers who didn't "take it seriously enough" at first. But even that fails because the show did the same thing up until Danbury's speech by playing the rapes for comedy, making the whole thing feel very cheap.

Steven Jump

I love this show and had hoped we would get a 2nd season. Still so much to explore!

Kiss the Librarian

Agree, and would add that these stories help us think about consent issues in modern situations when people can still be raped without screaming "no" or crying, fighting, etc. The freeze/fawn response is a survival mechanism, as well. There can still be other contributing factors, like the attacker leveraging threats against their target, etc, so that the other person is forced to comply under duress.

Bee

You’d hope it would help today - but given how much folks miss it I worry that folks don’t still don’t understand. Agatha’s whole marriage = her whole like was duress.

Seneca

This is in release order– this series released in 2023, and Season 3 released in 2024.

Seneca

Eh... In this time period, what is Lady Danbury to do... tell him "no", then wind up on the streets? In a time period/universe where love marriages are rare, and we see the large age difference between them two... I mean can you guys really come to the conclusion that she is happily consenting? Lol There is an immense power imbalance. The rights/freedoms of women are already few in Bridgerton, and this series is set *decades* prior.

Bee

Well said! You can see someone being diminished in the world (have empathy for that)and seek to uplift them where you can at home. Alternatively …it’s easier for Agatha to endure at home if he is less upset and so assurances to him are also an act of survival. Made all the worse by the fact that she is uplifting her abuser (see my prior comment about spousal r#p@) - who, not only, fails recognize that Agatha is also diminished by society and in no way uplifts her BUT- on the contrary in some ways she endures greater abuse at home at his hands than he encounters outside the home.

Bee

I tend to agree with you about how folks are receiving those scenes as an “uncomfortable joke” when (I hope) the intent of the writers was for the audience to realize what they had been laughing at something that was not a joke - and spurn some self-reflection. But I think sadly too many folks in the audience never understood this was supposed to be a moment of self-reflection for them. I think because they got some criticism for this they tried to do her back story greater justice in later series - but I don’t think it really worked. I also don’t think they folks understand part of Agatha’s shaping on the Ton is also to aid women in avoiding poor marriages (not just lack of money/connections/affections) but subjugation to wrong man by marriage could the lethal and could not be undone. This is what women are competing to avoid on the ‘marriage mart’ and somehow those who take the season seriously are considered shallow or unworthy of being a wife. By contrast Lady Violet’s solution is to marry for love in the hopes that he husband’s affection means he’ll never mistreat you. Overall the miss in the Bridgerton-verse is the stakes are diminished because show never fully explores the horrors that these women/ mamas are trying to escape!

Ana

Just got done watching reaction to episode 1 and the guys might remember in the next episodes but when the guys were surprised that race is an issue in the first episode of Queen Charlotte you have to remember a scene from season 1 of Bridgeton. Lady Danbury tells the Duke Simon that the King's love for a Black Queen (Charlotte) elevated their society. She said “We were two separate societies divided by color, until a king fell in love with one of us. Love, Your Grace, conquers all". And Simon still pushed back on that. Simon said Black nobility is precarious, relying on a "loose, continuous threat" that could be taken away just as easily (saying that their titles and land could all be taken away if the crown wanted to), Simon was questioning if love truly changes the underlying societal structure in the Ton when it comes to race. So race was still an issue in Bridgeton but not spoken about out loud, until that scene with Simon and Lady Danbury.

AllyBoo124

I personally think of george as more schizophrenic. He is also king george the third, aka Mad George. He was king during the revolutionary war (the one in Hamilton) and was known for being mad/crazy.

Shanice British

Love Oak but Diamond Dave is definitely on to something. It’s called spousal rape. Lady Danbury couldn’t say no so she had to sleep with her husband every time he wanted her to even though she didn’t want to. The fact that she didn’t want to tells you all you need to know about the situation. Her not wanting to is the no and he still gets to rape her because she’s his wife and back then it was about the husband’s pleasure. Hers wasn’t important. Great reaction otherwise

Brittany M

In real life, George suffered from a mental illness from a younger age. I don’t think it’s dementia. More like symptoms of schizophrenia. It’s not just the Bridgerton writers. Remember the Americans called him the “Mad King George” after the revolution. Mind you, this King George and the King George from Hamilton are the same person

GEMsMama

Illegitimate Whore Babies!!!

FD

I believe King George had bipolar type 1 according to historians but in real life it happened a bit later in his life while in the show it happens when he’s really young

GEMsMama

I don’t think it’s meant to be comedic. I agree, it is a little excessive, but I also agree that it’s for the viewer to understand just how much she had to go through. I do think however, that it shows how she coped and endured. We are shown the reality of a woman of the time being born and bred to be property. To be done with, and treated as the owner sees fit. Would we be having conversations about what it actually is, pointing out how heinous the reality’s of women of the time actually were without it? It’s all very intentional, your ment to be uncomfortable, to view it with a modern lens. They could have left it all out, but they didn’t. This popular show sparks necessary conversations by tackling very heavy topics, and you gotta give it up to Shondaland and the writers for that.

Kiss the Librarian

@GEMsMama Not sure how you're missing the comedic tone (jaunty music during the rapes, goofy/funny abuser, etc). These are not the first reactors or critics to notice how the scenes are played for laughs. We've been talking about the realities of life for women watching every season of Bridgerton without tone-deaf scenes like that. We've been talking about it in literature and other sources of media for centuries before that. Never said the topic shouldn't have been raised, just that it needed different handling.

ondraya

Something that I think might help you're understanding of what might be going on with George, in a non-spoiler way, is that the real King George III suffered from severe mental illness that was obviously impossible to diagnose back in the 18th century and has been researched and discussed centuries later by historians and psychologists alike and there's no real confirmed diagnosis, but many plausible theories. Some of his recorded symptoms were; mania, foaming at the mouth, hallucinations, major episodes, and joint and stomach pain. He was kinda famously known as "The Mad King George" just as much as he was known as "Farmer George". As a bit of a history buff this wasn't shocking to me when I first started Bridgerton, but I understand how a lot of viewers are kinda missing this context on George. And I enjoy how the show has been adapting it, especially considering how loosely based in reality the show is.

Kiss the Librarian

Hey there, I practice medicine and can shed some light on this: The best available evidence suggests his illness was bipolar disorder type I, not schizophrenia or porphyria (a blood disorder that can result in progressive psychosis). King George III's illness followed a distinctly episodic pattern with prolonged periods of normal functioning between episodes of "madness," and featured a primary mood disturbance characteristic of bipolar 1. He returned to his normal psychosocial functioning between episodes, also characteristic of bioplar 1. In schizophrenia, these episodes would last for 6 months at least and people typically did not return to a baseline level of function when untreated with modern medicine. When bipolar disorder is untreated, there is a neurotoxicity associated with repeated manic episodes that can contribute to the development of dementia in his later years (decreased ability to return to his normal baseline between episodes, increased disorientation and memory deficits, etc).

Marie RammGirl

Heart this comment (and spam with your own) if you want to see our BM guys dressed up in costume outfits for Bridgerton Season 3 hehe ;)

Kiss the Librarian

Yes, it is frustrating to see such pervasive misunderstandings about consent, even when it's clearly absent in a story or even a court case with clear evidence of rape (rare in most court cases, but one case in the UK always comes to mind where the rapist's uniquely identifiable vein patterns were matched on his arm by a forensic team from an infrared nanny cam recording of him raping his young stepdaughter, yet the jury still ruled he was not guilty and attacked her for "not fighting enough", etc). It's as if women are presumed to be constantly desiring sex at any age, in any circumstance, whether conscious or not. But we know it isn't really that, it's that society doesn't really care what the victim wanted. People having the freeze/fawn response before being murdered doesn't change the fact they were murdered, just like having that response before/during rape doesn't change the fact they were raped. The crime is the criminal's fault, not the victim's. (I know you know this, just offering the example for others' sakes). Oh well, we'll just have to keep educating, and keep supporting the ones who survive. Oh, and probably stop electing rapist/pedophiles to the most powerful political office in the world. :/

Lucinda Michel

I am 100% on board with a Badd Medicine Ball. Perhaps invite some others who have reacted to Bridgerton? There are quite a few lol

Jojo

Yes my favorite story after it season 3 I love both stories ❤️❤️.

Nicole Mazza

Same. I'm also a history buff and always surprised people don't have prior knowledge of 'Mad King George'. He's such a famous real-life king! :)

Tara ✨💫

Did you guys pick up on the fact that Lord Ledger's daughter is Violet Bridgerton as a girl? When she was in the church with Lady Danbury she was talking about birthday hats that she made for her husband like ones that her dad made for her and the next scene was Violet as a girl wearing a birthday hat behind the sofa while her mother was saying racial things.

Marie RammGirl

Well we don't have the awesome costume outfits this time, but still good to see DD rocking the "2 door" hair, I think you guys need to rock the jackets of Reynolds/Brimsley for future reactions ;) & I would be DELIGHTED to attend a Badd Medicine Ball as that would be a highlight indeed 😊 the "Tetanus" line, referencing the Halo song as the video game, (I acknowledge our Master Chief ☝️ ) gotta lurve Mason Quinn moments like that hehe, (agree Oak that Quinn needs a robe like that, hehe) liked your reactions to George's "Marital Duty" line hehe & yay for Quinn/DD's Oba Femi walk impressions too. Your reactions to the POV 'furious jumping' scene, the look on your faces ha, you're right we didn't need that view thrust upon us hehe & Danbury/Charlotte's dialogue during tea scene & charcoal drawings gave me cheeky giggle (as did your reactions for it) also loved you reactions to Charlotte/George first night of "Marital Duty". A much needed scene between Violet/Danbury cause Violet was unaware that not every marriage was as rosey as hers & seemed offended by Lady D's words when in fact it was quite the compliment & Venus Garden scene a heartwarming but heartbreaking one between Charlotte/George, despite their volatile differences at first, she still cares for him. (yay for your King of Ring wrestling reference) it's SO interesting seeing backstory for Lady Danbury aswell as Queen Charlotte & how their friendship developed into the strong bond they have today & liking the back & forth switching between present day & past Queen Charlotte & Lady Danbury.

Laëticia Réali _

There is definitely no consent between Lady D and her husband. She is a wife and wives are expected to have sex with their husbands. It is not an option for them to say no, therefore there cannot be consent. She relates to the hurt racism causes him and is nice to him about it. It does not signify that she is ok with the relationship, once again, she does not have a choice. I find it a little scary that people can just not see that when it is pictured so clearly.

Jane

Season 2 and Queen Charlotte are my fav so

Jane

Season 2 and Queen Charlotte are the best

Valerie ♡

Ok it’s been hours since I watched the episode 2 reaction and Ive been thinking about the topic in the last few minutes of the video. I’ve been staring at the text box and the blinking blue line for minutes now trying to think of how to write this….. i think no matter how u look at it if you don’t enjoy, if u dread sex with your partner, if it’s painful and your partner doesn’t care, if you have to smile awkwardly thru it, if it happens spontaneously multiple times a day and u carry on anyway just to get it over w/… and to take a bath to scrub him off of u everytime .. how i personally see that is its not right, and maybe that just looks different to u because its a humorous scene and the old guy looks funny and it was just a different time period where sex wasn’t a thing for girls to enjoy …. i think violence can take many forms, it can look like a crying struggle but it can also look like someone surrendering to their situation and letting it pass thru them everytime.. yea sorry for rambling but ive been thinking about it for hours i really love ur channel, idk if you’ll read my comment but maybe it can offer a different perspective.. i think diamond dave was catching onto this perspective a litle

Ren

nah it’s all good, just wanted to clarify for others 😁

Victoria

It is always weird to me that men don't understand that Lady D is constantly being raped and that she was basically abused from childhood until the monologue on episode 3. I feel, as a woman it is clear from th second, if not first scene. But somehow people, usually men are very confused by the fact that she is not constantly crying or something. This was her duty and life, of course it is lived with "normality". That doesn't change the fact that she is being raped.

Alexandra

HOLY SHIT A TRIPLE EPISODE DROP??? THANK YOU

LilithCain

"Dearest gentle reader, this is the story of Queen Charlotte from Bridgerton. It is not a history lesson. It is a fiction inspired by fact. All liberties taken by the author are quite intentional."

L

Keep in mind this is the same historical King George as the one in Hamilton

Eeva

probably better do 3+3 bcs otherwise the middle part would be ep 3 and 4 so both sides of mid-season cliffhanger and less suspenseful for first time viewers. When announcing they likely thought QC is 8 episodes per season like Bridgerton.

Rebecca B1

What do you mean by "people" ? because I think the guys here understand everything you just said

Miya

A three-episode drop of Queen Charlotte?! What a wonderful birthday present! This series is so well done and bittersweet. I'm glad you guys are reacting to this one, and after S2 as well.

rebecca

Here are some insight: Regarding ep 1: So the king and queen had 15 kids however only 13 reached adulthood wich are the ones depicted in ep one when the queen tells them to make babies. Regarding ep 2: Lady D has claimed those things not only for her husband but for their side as well. Remember that till now the country was divided in 2, there was Lady D side and the "normal" royalty, by doing this she is making the road for all the others lords and ladies of her side who till now were yes given titles but not allowed to join the society aspect that comes with titles. Imagine that her husband is the first to walk into White's, the next days there will be 2 and then 5 and so on. Bridgerton society is what it is thanks to Lady D and Charlotte who have set the stones for the future. Also the kid, Violet Ledger is Violet Bridgerton.

M

YESS!! i dont think they caught that

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

It's not made up for the show. It's based on the king who is sometimes called "Mad King George". And his mental illness started in his late 20s.

Nicole Mazza

Not sure if you guys remember from the main Bridgerton series, but Lady Danbury traditionally throws the first ball of the social season. This is the beginning of that tradition! :)

Levy

Already cried after episode 2. I haven't rewatched this since it first hit Netflix but this has to have been the best written story out of all Bridgerton world so far. I am so happy you guys are racing through this one. Can't wait for next week

L

I know it’s not meant to be deep, but Violet should not have been alive at all during this spinoff. She’s considerably younger than the Queen and Lady D in Bridgerton. She got married and had Anthony by 20ish years old. Anthony is 29 in S2.

Ashley S

Will go to your ball, Badd Medicine!

é l i s s a

I'm not sure, but I would assume this is after episode 2.

niyjah

Losing my mind abt this actually

niyjah

Happy belated birthday!!

Ana

Finallly

Bee

Right! Her throwing a ball every year on the anniversary of her husband’s death 💅

Aria Isara

Isn't it funny when people who haven't even watch the 1st minute get their panties in a bunch? 🙃

TinCan Cosmanaut

Holy fuck did this get alot of likes..? Is this channel have a giant woman audience.... Kinda like popcorn in bed must have mainly male viewers.

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

In episode 3’s reaction at 44:37: “Jesus, they are fucking celebrating.” — I mean, I’d like to see you guys if you had to have sex against your will in a receiving position for many years with an old, unattractive partner. Lady Danbury’s reaction was totally justified and understandable! Honestly, I didn’t get why you were so amazed by that. Even if there was “a level of respect,” it doesn’t change the fact that her husband treated her like a property (that was common and even “normal” at that time ) and didn’t care whether she was actually into the physical side of their marriage. Any woman would resent a man like that, even if she didn’t show it openly. So it was the only reasonable reaction in her circumstances.

Badd Medicine

I see this comment comes before our review. Maybe watch that.

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

I wrote this after watching episode 3. I just didn’t expect it would take you guys so long to understand what Lady Danbury had experienced, no matter how comically some her sex scenes with husband were portrayed.

Becci

I think George got dementia later in life but struggles with another mental issue from a young age (schizophrenia/bipolar disorder etc)

JC

I was just about to say this. He’s just about the right age for schizophrenia, when the symptoms show up in young men. Sadly, gack then, there were no medications to manage symptoms.

LoDon

Regarding Lord and Lady Danbury: I was almost laughing when they were talking about consent. That wasn’t a thing back then. Women didn’t consent to anything that happened to them back then because they were property not people. I wanted to badly for the guys to get it but I think they kept wanting to believe in some good in their relationship when in reality, lady Danbury was forced into that marriage exactly like the Queen because she has no choice in the matter. She does what she can within the confines of what her society allows and that’s her true superpower: knowing how to navigate it.

Knightmare

Bridgerton is one of Netflix's most watched shows lol it's gonna have likes

Maisie

This is well said. Even if she had said yes, when there is no option to say no then it is coerced. I appreciate that DD brought it up. Oak giving his thoughts on it not as an opinion, but as 100% certainty--literally--bothers me on this.
