Also a note, there is 2 more movies called execution and hidden inventory but you dont need to watch them at all. Ones essentially a recap of season 2 and then the first 3 episodes of season 3, and ones the first 5 episodes of season 2 made into one long episode. Money grabs basically. Unnecessary to watch

im still trying to figure out if they recognise that Geto is in season 1. Also would cool if they watched the Hidden Inventory movie since its just first 5 episodes of season 2 in a movie format with nothing cut from the episodes.

agree with Oak. i love how well they told Yuta’s story in a full film so that it can breathe but also give the scope that it needed. MAPPA’s animation team just gets better and better as the seasons go on. 👍🏻 I also think you can go into this film blind (without seeing S1) bc of how they reiterate the way the world works…etc. it’s just better to watch after you’ve gotten to know the characters first. so glad you all enjoyed it, now onto Season 2!!

Fun fact: the red weapon Geto was using is playful cloud, the same weapon Maki and Megumi used during the fight with Hanami in season 1. I think that’s why maki said she felt disgusting for using it

for some extra info on how crazy it is that yuta is special grade, the "rankings" are canonically not super well defined within the universe, at this point in time there are only 4 registered special grade sorcerers- one of them being gojo and now one of them being yuta, if gojo is lebron, yuta is a young prodigy like wemby/luka- sukuna at his peak is like jordan/lebron as well

Geto, Gojo's best friend, is the sorcerer in season 1 who is working with the curses, he has the stitches on his forehead. Considering this is a year before season 1 it makes you wonder what happened that he's pretty much fine. In some of the memories here we see it's Geto who says sorcerers exist to protect non-sorcerers, that the strong have a duty to protect the weak, and yet Gojo says the opposite. But when we get to the movie, they have pretty much inverted. Nanago and Mimiko point something out, and we see some of their memories: them two as kids held in a cage and they look beaten up. And then Geto arrives, and saves them. This is a very important scene, relates kinda to what Nobara said in season 1, that if she had stayed in her village she probably would've ended up dead. Villages usually aren't kind to those who are different. Gojo also mentions something important: no one has the right to take the youth from the young, and this reflects on why he does what he does. He also mentions the iconic "love is the most twisted curse of all". Important to remember imo! When you start season 2, the first 5 episodes are also a prequel further back than JJK:0. So Season 1: 2018 JJK: 0: 2017 And S2 e1-5: 2006. Just mentioning this so it isn't as confusing. You will see why all these prequels are important. Oh the English VA for Gojo mentioned that what Gojo says to Geto are 3 words once translated to English.

I wonder if they read the comments apart from DD. These events happened 2 yrs (2016) before the school exchange or Yuji's time line (2018). Yuta has been mentioned multiple times throughout season 1 as well as the events of the night of December 24. While the end credits is current time line which is after the school exchange activity, and it is in Miguel's home country, Kenya. You can actually hear Miguel's foreign accent in Japanese

I loved this ! Perfect timing and it was so fun , love that you guys enjoyed it i was worried that you’ll feel it’s too long since you are used to short episodes, the ending song is my all time favorite so it kinda hurts when you guys skipped it lol hope you check it out even if it’s off screen

For season 2, I strongly suggest watching the first 5 episodes at once. Also, slight mistranslations in the subtitles. For instance, Geto's "I'll fight to win" line is actually "I fight for justice."

This was first time watch for me as well as I seen season 1 when it came out and never got around to finishing the rest. This movie was great. Nanami doing the 4 black flashes that was mentioned in season 1 and what looked like Yuta doing a black flash when he punched Geto with that animation was amazing.

⚠️ NO SPOILERS – QUICK JJK TIMELINE EXPLANATION 😁🫶🏼 Guys, I’m really glad you enjoyed this movie. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is actually one of my favorite parts of the series, and since it seemed like a few details may have gone by pretty quickly, I thought I’d share a little spoiler-free context before you start Season 2. First, this movie is a prequel to Season 1. It takes place about a year before Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara enter Jujutsu High. That’s why Maki, Panda, and Inumaki are first-year students here, while in Season 1 they’re already second-years. Another important detail is Geto. The Geto you see in this movie is the same Geto who appears throughout Season 1 alongside Jogo (the volcano-headed curse) and Mahito (the patch-faced curse). If you weren’t paying close attention, it’s easy to miss that they’re the same character, especially because the series doesn’t immediately explain his history. The movie also hints at something that becomes very important later: the connection between Gojo and Geto. You’ve probably already noticed through a few flashbacks that they used to know each other, but the full story hasn’t been explained yet. One thing that may help with the timeline: the first five episodes of Season 2 take place years before this movie and focus on Gojo and Geto when they were students. After those episodes, the story returns to the events that continue from the end of Season 1. And finally, Yuta isn’t just a random movie protagonist. He’s a very important character in the Jujutsu Kaisen world, which is why he received an entire movie dedicated to his introduction. Hope that helps a little! JJK’s timeline can be surprisingly confusing on a first watch, especially compared to a lot of other anime that explain things more directly.

I hope they won't get confused by the timeline for Season 2, episodes 1 to 5, since those will serve as another prequel. While I know many people have suggested watching this before starting Season 2, I disagree. I think they should watch the first five episodes of Season 2, then watch this, and return to Season 2, episode 6.
