I also didn't really understand the story with Yuji's classmate. It seems to lead nowhere and kind of a filler.

Yeah... this is how Gojo used to think during this flashback... while Geto DID care. It's one of the main points of this flashback on how their world views were different when they were kids and then this traumatic event changed their perspective. CURRENT Gojo most definitely cares about saving innocent people.

I don't know if this is accurate as these are just my thoughts, but I always took that bit of story to show how easily those negative emotions can build into a threat or a curse (it didn't for her), but also to show the type of person Yuji was even back before he knew about curses and their origins. I don't know anything beyond my own speculation so I don't think this is spoiling anything? Just me thinking about my thoughts... not trying to ruin anything.

JJK does a great job of explaining Buddhist philosophies. Gojo’s moment of enlightenment came when he was detached and neutral about the whole situation. He wasn’t mad and just grateful/honored to be alive and aware that he’s alive. Geto experiences the opposite and became attached to his suffering and ideas.

Came here to also say JJK is really like a modern telling/critique of Buddhism. The characters, the hand signs, the concept of cursed energy and techniques all have representation in Buddhism. To really get what JJK is about on a deeper level, you guys should do just some quick and light research in Buddhism. Especially since ep30 is the beginning of this story really kicking off. It helps.

5:41 in episode 5 “Did he like the applause?” — Are we serious, MQ? 😭 Your lack of proper reaction during the last two episodes of this arc tells me you didn’t fully grasp the tragedy and complexity of Geto’s backstory, especially his friendship with Gojo. Even your comment, “It’s too many innocents,” proves my point. Gojo doesn’t care that much about morality, and the show demonstrates that many times, especially during this flashback when he was younger and far less mature. At that moment he truly cared only about Geto— arguably even too much. That’s exactly why he couldn’t do it. P.S. At least you appreciated and enjoyed the little “Human Earthworm” subplot 😅

Episode 5 is my favorite of the series, in terms of character development and visual/auditory storytelling. I love the way they use the visual of the candles/his shadows to illustrate the moment embers of caring for non-sorcerers expired for Geto. And the use of the clapping/water droning as a symbol of the futility of his effort and pain... also beautiful.

From what I recall you are pretty much right. She was introduced at the request of the editor who wanted a love interest for Itadori, so the author was basically forced to create her. Which is why she only shows up twice in the story, and both times for the sake of Itadori's characterization. It was a fun scene tho, and it does remind viewers that they are teens.

Yeah this was me talking about flashback arc gojo future gojo cares about saving humans but it’s still not his main goal it’s not any jujitsu sorcers main goal there main goal is to eliminate curses and curses users who use there ability’s for evil we see that when gojo goes down nanami and other sorcers was ok with just abandoning the mission and letting all the humans die rather the risking there life’s to save people.
