C. J. Ramirez

This movie was so good I watched it twice and theaters and twice when it came out to buy😭 first off the whole friend group shitty asf ian banging Nikki for 2 years on and off and giving bear false advice cause Nikki seemed interested in exploring there relationship like she seemed upset he said good friends. And Sarah being into bear.. whole thing is fucked bear started as a good guy then became worse when he ignored all the red flags. You have to watch it more than once to catch subtle hints you might miss the first watch .

I have never felt so on edge watching a movie in my life like the concept and execution was just so good! the performances in this movie were also out of this world - obviously inde is absolutely unbelievable in this and deserves all the praise but i have to give props to michael as well, his performance as bear is so underrated and deserves all the praise too given he just seems like the sweetest person irl and he plays the ‘nice guy’ so convincingly

DD was absolutely prophetic in this one, BRAVO

Wintana

Rewatching this with you guys made it way funnier than it did in theaters

Lisa Clark

I do find Bear to initially be a sympathetic character. To say he's down on his luck is an understatement and on top of that it's an incredibly universal feeling to be young and have feelings for someone who may not like you back. However, as the film goes on and he becomes aware that she *is* actually in there and this is against her will, man oh man. The craziest scene for me is when he calls customer service and the guy at the company asks Bear if he wants to speak to Nikki and all you can hear is her screaming.

Lisa Clark

By the end, I really didn't feel sorry for him at all. You took away somebody's agency, man.

So Tired

1:19:38 Oak, while it’s true that he didn’t know it would work from the start, that scene completely overrules itself because later in the movie he finds out it was real. Instead of immediately canceling it, he decided to call the One Wish Willow too ALTER the wish. It was only after he ran out of options that he finally asked to cancel it. Also, the creator and actors confirm that there's no demonic possession it's just the wish taking over Nikki (Wish Nikki), while the real Nikki is also trying to fight back. So all of the weird scenes shown is the real Nikki.

Kickinthescience

As soon as Sarah said I was on your left side I thought to myself well so is Nikki real soon

Kickinthescience

Ian made the smart wish. He should’ve skipped town as soon as he counted the money. Come back later when things cool down

Gabby

Yesss her facial expressions were everything Also I think every time she fucked with his cat it was the real Nikki pissed off for being stuck

So Tired

1:25:32 The thing about it Quinn is that the only reason why the Wish-Nikki is obsessed with him is because his obsession from the begin projects onto her when he made the wish for himself. If you go back at 22:53 when the Wish Nikki said "I mean, I did just lose my cat, Bear." That was his obsession projecting onto her which costs her to be confused and say stuff that personally happens to him.

Diablos Cafe

Me & all the homies despise Bear ✌🏽 Grade A pos

Elay

Your reactions were priceless! Never before have I felt so unsettled throughout an entire movie. Actors absolutely nailed it too. I also heard that the ending scene was only done in one take! They liked it so much that they didn’t have to re-shoot it, so big props to Inde Navarrette she’s gonna do so well in the industry

marylove.xo

I was waiting for this one!! The reaction to bear saying 'what's so bad about being with me' had me cracking up cause it was my reaction too lol, such a disturbing but well executed film

unreliable narrator

Curry Baker the creator and director is 26 year old!!!! Kane Parson who directed Backrooms is 20!!! It’s so exciting to see these new young upcoming directors!

Bri

Me and my little sister, she's 18, just saw this in theaters Tuesday night. It was their very last time playing this movie and it was at 10:30pm. It was my sister's first time seeing a horror movie in theaters, and it's been years since I have myself. It was actually terrifying! Been a long time since I jumped that much at a movie. Gave me anxiety throughout! Can't wait to see y'alls reaction. It's funny though, when I came out the theater I told my husband I could wait awhile to see it again lol, but I need him to watch it too so we can talk about it lol. But I also can't wait to see y'alls reactions! If I felt like I was gonna have a heart attack, I can only imagine Oak lol.

Mari Vaz

DD clocked Bear as a pos 10min in

Azmoz

Let's go!! I'm so excited to rewatch this with you guys. Saw it in theaters and it blew me away so much I went back and saw it again. Terrifying in so many ways and had me so on edge. The acting and lighting in this movie are so damn good I couldn't stop talking about it to my friends 😂. It's a 5/5 for me.

Mari Vaz

You guys were talking about original scripts - Curry Baker revealed that he was offered 2M by a studio, but he would have to change the script and make Bear "the hero". He refused because he didn't want the change what the movie was about and ended up with a much smaller budget.

ellie

bear dying exactly like his cat because at the end of the day all he was is a pussy LOL

Simon

Oak's "TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF!" had me rolling lol

KNN

I'm gonna watch this tomorrow morning, too risky to watch this at night 😂

Maisie

I feel like Diamond Dave is the only one who got this movie from the beginning--just how f***ed it was, and who the real monster was. The only moment I got chills--and not the fun kind--was when Oak defended him.

Crystal

You guys will hopefully catch this on a rewatch, but Bear is awful from the beginning. He purposefully killed the cat, but has such a lack of accountability plays like it’s the cat’s fault. That medicine was not his laying around, it was his grandmothers and stays in the medicine cabinet. He had the cat food spilled out on the floor with the pills, so he would have had to done that himself. That’s why he barely brings the cat up to his friends and why Nikki keeps digging up the cat, because Bear knows it was his fault and she keeps confronting him with his decisions. To the point where she makes him eat it. And then Ofcourse the way he killed the cat mirrors his own demise. Also Nikki straight up asked him did he like her and he said no. Even when she’s first possessed on the porch and asks him if he has feelings for her he says no, why do you like me? Because bear doesn’t like her actually, he only wants her to like/worship him, and that ultimately why he wished what he did. He’s obsessed with the idea of Nikki liking him, he’s not obsessed with Nikki as an actual person. Lastly, Ian is an op 😂 He’s a shitty friend praying on Bears downfall from the jump. I could write literally essays on this film, it soo good. Saw it 3 times in theaters. May was such a good month for horror, it was literally my superbowl. I know you plan to watch Backrooms, but hopefully you’ll watch Hokum, Mārama and Leviticus at some point. Horror has been really delivering on original, thought provoking stories for the past few years and it’s refreshing.

Knightmare

Yeah, the fact that his first thought was to make a wish to change somebody else rather than himself said it all for me 😂 I have never ONCE in any moment of weakness desired somebody ELSE to change completely to be more palatable to my personal emotional desires

Knightmare

People don't talk about Ian enough. Bro was diabolical man 😭

fatoumata cisse

yeah pre-wish bear was just sorta pathetic but he wasn't some evil guy. He didn't believe the wish worked because it was a 7 dollar toy. But after he found out at the dinner scene that it's actually working, he didn't even want to cancel the wish. He just asked to tone it down which is insanely selfish. A normal person would try their best to stop things but he was too obsessed with this version of Nikki who wanted him. It's so disgusting to see him ignore all the weird things happening since he only cares about fulfilling his fantasies. He became extremely irredeemable and took Nikki's life and agency. So his demise was very satisfying at the end, he deserved it and poor Nikki had to endure so much pain because of him, and now she's more likely to go to jail.

Maisie

Exactly! Even "I wish she'd give me a chance" is still messing with her free will.

Maisie

Exactly. When he said "alter" I felt physically sick. Like he didn't like the terms and conditions on his s*x slave.

Maisie

I'm surprised none of the guys made the connection to Kilgrave and Jessica Jones since they're watching it right now.

thefatfurret

yea i feel like what oak said was reasonable on the surface but ignores the context of what already happened in the movie. so idk if he just missed the fact that the movie intended for us to know that bear absolutely knew at that point (dinner scene and beyond)

Aby

It was terrifying because I found Bear in the beginning somewhat relatable. Struggling to communicate, being lost in life, even just being a coward is something I can honestly relate to. And then, the moment that he asked to alter the wish instead of cancel it came. At that point most of the denial was gone and he believed in the wish, yet he asked to alter it. His actions with Nikki became infinitely more selfish after he knew that. He tried to convince himself again and again that there was some truth to it, but at that point it was not out of fear, emotional disconnect or lack of knowing, but because he prioritized his own needs over even considering how what he’s doing affects someone else. What made it even worse was the moment in which the real Nikki surfaces and he just walks away with no sympathy and still only cares about his own feelings. That truly revealed the extent of his self-pity and self-centeredness. The scariest part is that there’s a high number of people I can see acting that way. The true horror is that Bear isn’t evil, but what he does results in evil happening to other people. He’s a selfish, unempathetic coward who doesn’t take accountability and that makes him so much more horrifying. Even the cat is symbolic is symbolic of that. He feels sad about her dying, and yet doesn’t acknowledge that his carelessness led to it. He’s too stuck in his self-pity to see that the things happening around him are the results of his own actions.

Carolina M

Don´t think nikki really liked him or was interessested in anyway, she wrote a version of a fantasy with incest between sibilings, showing that she just saw him as a brother and nothing more, also when ian said "get your girl home" she said "EW"

Knightmare

The actress who played Nikki was absolutely phenomenal

C. J. Ramirez

The actress confirmed it she would have gave bear a chance if he said 1 word” yes” if she didn’t like him at all she wouldn’t give him even a chance

Knightmare

Yes it was clear the just didn't gaf he was just upset that she was too "weird"

Shubham

What a brilliant movie! One of the best watchalongs! I am now going to go and watch some tom and jerry and looney tunes.

Carolina M

Also just because Bear liked her in a superficial, obsessive way doesn't mean she had to like him back. Bear was feeding a fantasy, whereas his friend, Nikki, and Sarah were living in the real world—where you build a relationship gradually rather than concocting a perfect romance in your head. Bear and Nikki would never have worked out because he treats her like an object; he doesn't know anything about her on a deep level—he didn't even know about her relationship with her father. When he confesses his feelings to the waitress early in the movie, he talks about how she was there for him, but says nothing about her personality or what she’s actually like. All he wants is an idealized, unrealistic romantic relationship. Yes, I agree his friend should have mentioned that he and Nikki were hooking up, but at the same time, Sarah herself said it wasn't a relationship based on feelings—just casual sex. I doubt Bear—with his obsessive, romantic-delusional mindset—would have taken that well; he doesn't even grasp the concept of building a relationship. He thinks life is all love-at-first-sight stories. His friend even asks if he’d ever flirted with Nikki or shown interest in her—without resorting to that bizarre, abrupt approach of blurting out all his feelings at once. That kind of behavior leaves the other person with only two options: either feel violated—because being the object of someone's desire like that is unsettling; you feel stalked—or reciprocate that crazy, obsessive love. But the truth is, no one ever reciprocates that kind of feeling, and everyone finds that sort of behavior strange. And just because his friend was hooking up with Nikki, it doesn't mean he was giving bad advice; in a way, his advice was actually okay. After all, he didn't seem interested in sabotaging Bear; it seemed more like he wanted Bear to just speak his mind so they could settle the issue and he wouldn't have to keep listening to Bear whine about his fantasy. Bear didn't stand a chance—he never did. Nikki had probably told Sarah and Ian plenty of times that she’d never be with him—that she only saw him as a brother—which is why she was trying to set him up with Sarah. She wanted to see him grow up, face reality, act like a human being, and try to build a healthy relationship with someone who actually liked him back. Bear is clearly starved for love and attention and desperately wants someone to love him, so he tries to "microwave" a relationship—fast-forwarding it a million steps—instead of just living in the moment and risking potential rejection.

blitzman08

lol i love Oak but i wouldn't be able to watch horror movies with him, dude just starts SCREAMING whenever it gets creepy/scary 😂 😂

.

To answer Mason Quinn about using 'demon' or 'entity' to describe Nikki's situation, people mostly refer to her as 'Wish Nikki'.

itsdivya

what's scarier a man or a bear? how about a man named bear

Knightmare

Worst part of this is that Nikki is going to jail for life after this 😭

mel ⋆˚꩜。

****SEMI SPOILER WARNING BELOW FOR THOSE READING THE COMMENTS BEFORE WATCHING THE MOVIE: curry barker is a GENIUS. he’s only 26, 24 when he made obsession. cooper tomlinson (ian) is 27, inde (nikki) is 25 and michael (bear) is 30, such a young but insanely talented cast. he and cooper tomlinson are best friends and started off making comedy skits on youtube, and started making horror shorts as well which are all great for the extremely tiny budget he had to work with (his maximum budget before obsession was $800 USD). he has just finished making his second movie, cooper tomlinson is back! as well as aaron paul and bryce dallas howard (although i wish he continued using unknown/lesser known actors) he’s also gonna be acting in it as well, which im so excited for because he’s also an extremely talented actor (he was the customer support guy for one wish willow lol, but he acts in most of his short films and is great) but curry teased that nikki’s fate will subtly be revealed in the new film, as it takes place in the same universe as obsession.. in the least parasocial way possible, i am so proud of how far he’s come as i’ve been a fan for like 4 years and always knew he had the potential to be a master at his craft when given the right resources, and he proved it with obsession. also, whenever sarah sat next to him she was on his left, insinuating she was “meant for him” the whole time, although i personally believe bear doesn’t deserve affection from anyone lol, although im assuming his predatory behavior was unknown to sarah. bear never loved nikki, he was sexually obsessed with her, i think it’s put in summation when she calls herself freaky nikki, she got called that in school by bullies as a “freak” derogatory, but obsessed nikki used it in a “freaky” sexual manner. this movie came out at the perfect time since we’re unfortunately at the peak of “looksmaxxing” and incel culture. as a young woman who has dealt with some really violating experiences with men, i bawled my eyes out at the end. inde and michael were absolutely incredible. curry left nikki’s true feelings for bear vague intentionally, and allowed it to be up to the viewers interpretation. inde said she believes nikki did like bear, but i really do think she viewed him as a brother. and then this is just a personal opinion and i don’t think it was intentional, but michael openly identifies as a gay man and i think that honestly helped because, although he is a phenomenal actor on his own - it shows the forced chemistry between him and nikki - since he never really loved her, and a lot of queer people are familiar with forcing feelings towards people of the opposite gender lol, and perhaps michael incorporated that into bear’s character! anyways loved the review and am so happy you guys liked this! one of my favorite, terribly fucked up easter eggs is the cat’s name predicts her fate, her name is sandy… short for sandwich LMFAO

mel ⋆˚꩜。

also, i heavily agree with oak and think bear truly became the villain when they went to dinner. that’s when he really realized the wish was real and not a bullshit novelty toy since he got direct comfirmafion she was essentially under his spell. and he still had the audacity to have “sex” (assault) with her right after, it’s very subtle, but if you look closely even though nikki is moaning and sounds like she’s pleasured, there’s a tear rolling down her cheek - real nikki was always in there and was experiencing being assaulted by one of the people she clearly trusted. bear didn’t want nikki, he wanted her body as a sex slave and i’m glad that bit him in the ass in the end (although i wish his death was more painful but im spiteful so). a lot of people (predominantly men) despite being in the minory, somehow view bear as the victim and i think this movie and peoples dictation on the victim really help distinguish good people from bad people lol, anyways great review as always guys! thank you (especially DS) for the empathy shown toward, and immediate understanding of nikki’s loss of all autonomy. love u all <3

Unholy Tater

Looking forward to watching this at some point. A friend has recommended it very highly to me.

Carolina M

I felt the same, the problem was his wish, he wish for someone else to lose free will, thats fucked up even if he didn´t knew it would come true, when it came true he just took advantage of the situation

Carolina M

he could have wished that he had more confidence, that he was funnier, that he was more sexy, or charming, anything else

Carolina M

Diamond dave was truly the only one that understood this movie, the rest of yall should read the coments

Carolina M

given him a chance doesn´t mean reciprocating his delusions, don´t think she would go on more than one date with that weirdo

Carolina M

they didn´t really respond the way i would imagine in the r4pe scene also, the were too happy, too joky

mel ⋆˚꩜。

inde chooses to believe nikki liked bear, but curry barker said he purposely left it up entirely to the viewers interpretation.

Mathilde

I don't think he ever was sympathetic, he only appeared as such in the beginning because he's the POV character and we're seeing him as he sees himself, a "nice" guy.

Carolina M

naaah wishing that someone would do something they wouldn´t just for your own sake and satisfaction is r4pe, even if there are no consequences, just shows how much a person considers you an object for their own desire

mel ⋆˚꩜。

yes that’s what i said? i mentioned nikki crying during the assault scene for a reason. i think, (i emphasize “truly”) bear truly became the villain while at dinner because although he was selfish from the start, it’s not crazy to assume a 7 dollar novelty toy isnt gonna actually work lol - the dinner was when he got direct (more emphasis on direct) confirmation that his suspicions were true.

Carolina M

he knew something was wrong from the start and also the first night he researched the toy, the wish was selfish in it self, the friend called him out lots of times, after the first night he even said so to his friend, but then it got good for him, so he was selfish from the start

Dani M

not DD slowly rolling out of the frame 😭😭

So Tired

Yeah, I wasn’t sure they realize it or not

So Tired

I think he should definitely watch it one more time because it seems that he was missing a good amount of details

mel ⋆˚꩜。

unsure why but my comment isn’t appearing for me so if you receive this twice pls ignore lol - i think bear was a very selfish character (which should be obvious to everyone but it unfortunately isn’t sigh), he definitely knew something was off putting at the start, and was suspicious of nikki’s behavior but he received confirmation he had full, complete control over her when she told him she loved him than anything in the world and was able to act out his fucked up desires regardless. but i agree with what you’re saying, i just don’t think about every single thought i have while commenting quickly. initially, bear made out with nikki (and it would have eventually led to “sex” aka r*pe if she didn’t snap out of it and freak out like she did) while thinking she was under the influence and he was sober.

mel ⋆˚꩜。

we’re also seeing how everyone else views him too, he hid his predatory nature from his friends too. his entire existence was a facade to everyone including the viewers.

Carolina M

DD saved this reaction

nessa

not a horror movie person so I love watching it w the squad cuz they make it bearable lmao c,:

mel ⋆˚꩜。

i absolutely love michael, he’s such a lovely person from what I’ve seen. he’s so fascinated with and impressed by inde too and i think it’s so beautiful when co stars can be impressed with each others talent. everyone knocked it out of the ball park with this one.

Carolina M

sorry if i it appeared rude, was't my intention its bc i watched this over a month ago so this is my second watch i had time to process and think ALOT about this movie, and also the NICE GUY type, and the theory that he killed his cat intentionally made me hate him from the start, and think he is just a sociopath

Carolina M

I don't think Ian was *that* bad; I think he kind of knew his friend's possessive crush was stupid and that she didn't feel the same way, but realized the only way for him to get over it—and stop constantly complaining and talking about it—was to just get rejected. It’s that classic high school scenario where someone likes another person the way Bear likes Nikki—and all the friends know, and Nikki herself knows—but the only way to shatter the illusion is for him to actually talk to her and then move on. The fact that Nikki mentions Sarah liking him while they're in the car suggests that, at some point, someone had asked her the exact same thing about Bear. And usually, in that situation, if you're trying to set your delusional friend up with someone else, it's because you aren't interested in him yourself. Ian stopping him from doing it at trivia night also makes it seem like he didn't want him to ruin the group outing. The fact that he was hooking up with Nikki was a jerk move, too, but look: his relationship with Nikki was real, whereas Bear's was an illusion—and he really should have told him. Actually, his thing with Nikki wasn't even a "real" relationship; it was just casual, like Sarah said, because their friends were normal young adults navigating normal relationships for that age, while he was stuck in a middle-school mindset.

Niv

I already watched this. Definitely gonna watch your reactions but I feel the need to share my unfiltered thoughts and opinions about it. This was deeply disturbing. I was mostly horrified for the poor girl trapped in her own body. Watching him realize something is seriously wrong and still choose to keep taking advantage of her instead of trying to get her some kind of help makes my stomach turn. It gradually became clear early on that he felt entitled to her body and affection. He literally wanted to alter it, not cancel it. Just because someone isn't physically violent doesn't mean they're incapable of abuse. Baffles me that some people are siding with Bear.

Gabby

Oaks reactions kill me bro🤣😭😭

mel ⋆˚꩜。

hi, no worries not rude at all we’re just having a discussion on our different opinions :) no malicious intent on my end either! see i discovered that theory through this comment section, i didn’t even know it was a thing prior to this and ive seen basically every theory involving this movie and have watched it 6 times, and im a cat mom so yeah rest in piss bear lmao but until now i speculated sandy’s death was an accident, maybe that’s just my false hope in people LOL

Emily

I love how DD hated Bear from the beginning! So valid, Bear was the absolute worst!

Mari Vaz

Ian is horrible. Remember that Nikki decides to leave her job and she tells Bear she wasn't happy at that point in her life. Her leaving the job that connected the friend group shows that she wasn't into Ian. She wanted to go towards something new and different.

Gabby

The moment he realized what he did he was the villain.

Gabby

And continued to SA her and pretend like everything is normal… yuck

.

I'm not sure that's true. She's pretty banged up and I feel like, as fucked up as it sounds, her distress and trauma might shield her in a way, and show that she is a victim on that crime scene. I'm sure the coroner could assess that Bear suicided with pills. I think Nikki could avoid jail somehow. But she is still left with all the consequences of Bear's actions, all the trauma, tragedy, interrogation, distress, and sorting through all of that, trying to process everything sounds like an absolute nightmare.

TheaViv

Diamand dave reminding them all that its NOT real Nikki, was everything! And the second wish bear said was not "I want to never have made this wish" It was "I want nikki to only love me as a friend" = it's all about him, him, him. I was sold the second time nikki came to her self on the bed - What an effective jump scare!

fatoumata cisse

Curry said he made two versions of the movie where it’s obvious Nikki likes him and one when she doesn’t like him. And mixed it up in the movie to make it more open-minded

Tamara

I disagree with DD. I'm not saying Bear did nothing wrong but I don't think he's as bad as DD says. Others may disagree w me but idc. The reason being that when he made the wish, obviously he didn't think it was gonna come true. If he had foresight into the future and knew the consequences, he nvr would have made that wish. Intent is very imp imo and he clearly tried to put in a "cancel request" so that she would return to normal, but was told that the only solution was him offing himself - DD made it seem like that's all he had to do and blaming him for not doing it sooner, but taking ur own life isn't easy. So, yes he did some bad things, but when he tried to make things right, the only solutin provided to him wasn't an easy one. And when the real Nikki asked him to kill her, I've seen ppl be like he's shit for not killing her and putting her out of her misery. Excuse me? Taking your own life isn't easy, but neither is taking someone else's. He didn't intend to take away her autonomy when he made the wish, he tried to "cancel" but couldn't, he couldn't possibly murder her, and taking his own life isn't something easy, so I agree that Nikki is a victim and feel bad for her 100%, but I also feel bad for Bear albeit to a lesser degree. Also, I wouldn't say Bear was obsessed with her, he just had a huge crush on her.

Carolina M

I’m not sure if I interpreted it the same way, because her changing jobs doesn't mean she’d stop being friends with them—they just wouldn't see each other as often. Right at the beginning of the movie, Bear mentions that whenever he asks Nikki out for a drink just the two of them, she invites Ian along. In the photo stuck to the mirror—the first one—Bear is pulling her in, and then she pulls Ian into the shot; she does this either because she likes Ian or to use him as a buffer between herself and Bear. At the bar, she steals his cap and they flirt; the two of them leave right when trivia is announced—even while Bear is talking about his cat that died—and the only one who stays behind is Sarah, who has a crush on Bear. I think that if Nikki didn't like him—or if he were the reason she wanted to leave—she wouldn't keep going out and joking around or flirting with him at the bar. Regarding his cat: looking at it again, I get the impression the cat belonged to his grandmother, who passed away, and he had to take care of it after she died. There are lots of cat decorations and photos of cats near the wall, and one of them looks like Sandy. Also, in his computer's search history, there are two consecutive searches: one about nursing homes and another about Oxy. This could even imply that he gave his grandmother a lethal dose of Oxy, just as he did with the cat.

ct

Yeah Bear got that 😭😭😭😭

bhargavi pba

They were laughing way too much. I know there's some dark comedy but it is definitely not that funny. Its uncomfortable.

bhargavi pba

I don't know if anybody else mentioned it, but its not a demon. There's no demonic possession. Its confirmed by the director. The one willow wish created an alternate Nikki and the real Nikki is trapped inside her. The alternate Nikki is almost like a child created to fulfill Bear's wishes. Nothing Bear does to her is consensual. Its Bear's obsession with Nikki reflected back at him. He wishes Nikki would love him more than anyone, so that's exactly what the wish Nikki does. He is an absolute pos. It was disappointing to hear Oak defend Bear but i am glad he came around at the end. Bear knew what was happening, that it was the wish willow that did this and he continued to keep her trapped. He only decides to free her because it became inconvenient for him.

Stephanie J

Bear was given so many opportunities to make things slightly less shitty and took absolutely zero of them, but wanting to just “alter” the wish instead of cancel it really solidified how awful he was. Plus the “what’s so bad about being with me” 😒 The bastardized Hansel and Gretel tale was a great insight to real Nikki’s feelings, the brother/sister view she had on their relationship, and the twisted love “only a willow tree could conjure.” It was also foreshadowed earlier when she was writing her love story and how it’s not a romance.

TingKarg

Bear is the worst!

Anna

There's been a few reactors now that keep asking when Bear is going to realize that's not Nikki, but the thing is, he DOES realize it very early on - he just doesn't care. Whether it's a demon controlling her or the wish itself causing her to love him, he doesn't care to change it or learn more about it. He only cares about how it serves him.

Beanblade

weird question but how are they allowed to do the non-sync version without the blur ? Im not very knowledgeable on copyright but isnt that a big no-no ?

ct

DD was on a roll with this one LMFAOOOO. He is so smart and mentioned so many good topics in the discussion. He’s right that whilst Bear didn’t know how the wish would take effect—it doesn’t negate the fact that he still was complicit afterwards (response to Oak). I like Bears character and think he acts as a well grounded twist to the “nice guy” trope. I have a feeling DD knew this and is why he knew from the get go where the story was going.

Derek A

That car scene where Nikki tells Bear that Sarah is interested in him hit home hard. I had the same thing happen in high school where a friend of a girl who was interested in me practically interviewed me trying to figure out if I returned the interest. Problem is, the girl I actually had the hots for was the one interviewing me. Those kinds of unfortunate situations are just part of life and love!

ct

Mason and Answer were having the time of their lives 😭😭😭

roxie c

mason quinn: what a line, you should write that down! oak: i ain’t fucking writing down a thing she says i can’t breathe ⚰️

Crispy

chill dude lol

Tiffany

Yup. He wanted her affection and devotion but in that same instance wanted her to remain her normal self. Like… if she was her normal self to begin with, she would have shut that whole crush down in a second.

amberrr

THANK YOU!!! YOU JUST REALIZED THAT NOW?? How messed up this was? Not even when Nikki was getting SA? She has no bodily autonomy of herself. Okay, bear didn’t know and mean to do this to Nikki. But throughout the movie he continues to take ZERO accountability, not doing Nikki right by trying to reverse whatever he did to her, and kept being selfish. It’s not even her! It’s the Wish Nikki, a complete fake version of herself overtaking her. I was the same was Diamond Dave, I just felt so so bad for her the whole time.

Karina Alarcon

One of the best movies of the year, a solid 5 for me.

Mari Vaz

Oh that's a good point about Ian and Nikki - I didn't notice all this details about she showing that she's close to him. But that makes even weirder on why he was telling Bear to confess to Nikki. And if he cared for Nikki he totally underreacted when he saw her acting completely different and wierd in the party.

itsdivya

Just offering an alternative view, he really only put in a cancel request after he tried to alter the wish (which was also a selfish wish that changes someone else’s autonomy). + the real Nikki saying kill me it’s lesss about how he didn’t immediately kill her that makes him a POS but his response is about himself and how “is it so bad to be with me” and no care about how she is feeling/trapped and has no autonomy of her own. I think maybe he didn’t ‘intend’ to take away her autonomy at the very beginning of the wish but he did so knowingly re the rape that happens immediately after the dinner. he could delude himself that she likes him up until it’s confirmed that she’s acting off bc of the wish in that scene which solidifies his POS position imo. Not to mention all she wanted to do was go home, sleep and leave her job to explore her dreams of writing write and he took all that away from her as well as all her friends

itsdivya

Shhh 🤫🤫 just enjoy 🙂‍↕️

Lisa Clark

I know. I find it so funny how often Answer is DELIGHTED during some horror movies.

Lisa Clark

I think they understood it. I just don't think they had the hatred for Bear nearly from the jump that DD did and I think that's OK given that there's no way he could have known that would happen. As the movies goes on, well, that's a different story.

Lisa Clark

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I realize that the movie truly rests on her performance. This is a low budget movie with few sets/locations and simple costumes etc and that absolutely doesn't matter. Hell, a good chunk of the movie takes place in his house and is just two actors going at it in the ring so to speak. I didn't think of any of that once while watching because I was so captivated by her performance.

Rica

I haven’t watched this reaction yet but I had those same chills on another reaction they made and ever since I can’t look at Oak the same and his commentary about mental health and being compassionate and all that just come off performative. Plz don’t kill me in the comments, it’s just my opinion. Let’s see what he says here 🙃

Bri

I gotta disagree, that level of crazy and evil has to be wish Nikki. Normal Nikki seems to chill to cut up a cat.

Kalkent

I think simply categorizing Bear - or his actions - abhorrent undermines the nuance of the writing. I agree with Oak that the wish was nothing more than wish fulfillment because in no way could anyone have predicted the it to become reality. Another thing to take into consideration is that we as viewers know we're watching a horror movie - a cautionary tale - from an overseer's perspective so of course we know, right away, that these events transpired because of the one wish willow. However, the character of Bear is living it. One would have to be an actual seer to realize - right away - that it is because of them breaking the stick and wishing that Nikki started behaving so oddly. I feel the writing made it perfectly clear that up until the scene where the real Nikki pleaded with Bear to kill her, he didn't fully believe - or wanted to believe - that it was because of him that started all this mess. In an age where we all yearn for original films, this is it. A singular, uncompromised vision. It's not perfect, but it is real damn fun. 4 Answers

I'm sure he has good intentions, I just think this might be moment when he can learn from his own reaction, or at least from our reaction to his words. I bet that's true for many people out there regarding this move.

DA Rodriguez

Excited y’all saw this! Fun tidbit;I got to attend one of the Q&As prior to the film release where they shared the man on the phone speaking to bear was actually the director / writer Curry Baker ! Fun lil Easter egg

Bruno G.

I watch this at the movies last week, and I went totally blind, didn't know what it was about and man... I stayed a few minutes after the movie was over just staring at the blank screen hahaha loved the reaction and loved how DD got it how fucked up Bear was since the beginning... this movie left me so heartbroken for Nikki, that poor girl didn't do nothing wrong and suffered so much...

Crystal

He did not call to put in a cancel request, he called to alter the wish. He wanted to keep wish Nikki’s love, he just wanted to remove the things he didn’t like. That’s the why Bear is actually that bad. He never thinks about Nikki, he only ever thinks of himself. Even him finally killing himself wasn’t for Nikki, it was so he could escape all the bad things that happened. If he was thinking about Nikki when it came to ending it, he would have left a letter, video, something to exonerate her. Instead he left her to the mess. Also he killed the cat, which to me is like the worst thing. If you think he didn’t, please realize the meds were his gma’s and they weren’t just laying around the house. He poured the food out on the floor with the pills. His search history even showed him looking up oxy affects. But Bear perpetually plays victim, that his flaw. When they were at the party and Nikki smashed her head with the bottle, he is not concerned about her at all like the other party goers, he’s sitting there with an embarrassed/disgusted look on his face. And also Bear had multiple opportunities to tell Nikki how he felt, but even when asked directly from her he says no. Because that’s actually the truth. He doesn’t have feelings for the real Nikki the person, he’s just obsessed with getting love/worship from his idea of Nikki that he has in his head. That’s why possessed Nikki is so strange. When he makes his wish, the wish honored the Nikki he was speaking of which is his fantasy of who she is. That’s why the possessed version is so different from the real Nikki, he never knew or loved her as a real person just an idea. Bear is the worst type of villain because he refuses to see himself for who he really is and either own it or change.

.

Oh Ian absolutely wanted Bear to fail. Encouraging him to confess while fully knowing he's hooking up with Nikki. It's very cowardly.

Mari Vaz

Bear didn't had to realize the wish was the catalyst to know what he was doing was fucked up and wrong. Right after he makes the wish and starts to affect Nikki, he can see she's acting wierd. Nikki claims she is super high when she's in the car going to Bears house - but how would that be true if she was acting normal before that? and she said a few times she wanted to go home and sleep, she had a full sober-ish conversation with Bear - and only later she start to act wier. Bear noticed that and took advantage of her state, even not knowing what it was. Bear knew she was acting wierd/not like herself and still took her to his house and kissed her that night. If you're good person you just don't do that. While they kissed realNikki takes over for a moment and freaks out. And even though he knows she's not acting normal and don't look well he keeps her in his house, has sex with her and does his best to ignore/fix all the insane shit Nikki is doing because he wants to keep her. So even if he never finds out the reason Nikkis starts to acting the way she does, he still takes advantage of her changed state from moment one.

Anthony Gonz

This is my Reaction of the Year right here lol. Good movie, good reaction, glad you all liked it!

Carolina M

I think it's selfish of him to encourage him knowing he is hooking up with her, but also its not like bear had any chance, it's that high school stiuation that everybody knows that he is in love with her including herl but she cant reject him if he doesn't say anything to her, I think Ian is just annoyed and doesn't want to keep listening to his friend lie to himself and obssess over her, also they said it was a casual sex kind of relashionship, I just feel like just want bear to get real, and deal with the fact that she doesn't see him as a sexual prospect, just a friend

luca

answer and mq giggling while dd is astounded and oak is utterly horrified around 47:58 is killing me

luca

i dont think they were laughing during that scene at all, in the scene after yes, but while the assault is happening they’re all clearly uncomfortable and aware of whats happening

Tiffany

I just thought about something, in that scene where she stays in the same spot to wait for him to come home; and she starts to urinate on herself, it makes me think of the survival tactic to prevent a kidnapping or a rape. They say “make yourself as disgusting as possible, pee yourself, defecate, or vomit” to make yourself as least desirable as possible. As a woman, I’ve heard of this tactic MANY times, simply because of the times we’re living in. So I’m thinking, it was REAL Nikki trying to subconsciously save herself in some form, from bear. Even down to that eye twitch. I don’t know, I could be reaching but just from what I’ve read about this movie and watching it for myself, that whole scene looks like she’s, in any way, is trying to protect herself from him. Which makes it all the more heartbreaking considering we see how this all ends.

hails

I love how early DD caught onto the consent issues and how she’s a prisoner in her own body

atoure32

thank you diamond Dave you noticed all the right things, and tone the film was trying to communicate

Ellie

Idk who I relate to more in this reaction: Oak being completely freaked out, or DD being disgusted 😭 "Disturbing film" is an understatement lol

ReyGamma

Oak was doing too much I’ll have to watch it by myself 😿😿😿

ias

I think Bear knew from the beginning that Nikki didn't like him, he just didn't want to admit it. Like, when they left the bar and Ian told Bear to take 'his' girl home, Nikki went 'Ew.' Same thing in the car, when he brought up the present he got her. Then she started talking about Sarah, and cut him off right when he tried to talk about how they met. So Bear calls her 'Freaky Nikki,' which he knows gets her upset because he's mad at her for not loving him back.

Jacqueline (xXMalaaaXx YT)

Oak vs Cardigans is legendary he fuckin haaaaaates to see a man in a cardigan 😂🥴🫠

Matt Hall

Then Ian should have just told Bear that he and Nikki had been hooking up on and off

Artem Dmytrenko

What a disturbing and uneasy movie. Acting is high-level, didn't expect that from an indie.

Kalkent

Again, perspective matters. Your pov is of someone who saw the events unfold through an omniscient perspective, thus you and I as audience can judge his actions to be abject. But from the perspective of an introverted, shy, insecure guy, he was deeply confused, shocked, scared AND ecstatic - to some degree - of his life flipping on its head. I'm not pleading for his case but just saying that the conflict is what made him that much interesting and deeper character.

TB

Oak, I think it's totally okay to say "in any regard". But if you don't want to say it anymore, maybe you'll like "at any rate" instead?

I'm Batman

I kinda regret watching this by myself before watching it with y'all. I enjoyed this movie more when I was watching it this time and y'all were experiencing it as well compared to watching this by myself. I'm gonna wait to see Backrooms for when y'all post the reaction, movies are better to me when it's not just me watching them. Now onto the movie itself. One thing I hadn't clocked myself when I first watched this was when the "wish Nikki" was asleep the real Nikki was asking Bear to kill her, I thought it was still "wish Nikki" just asking him to do that. That went completely over my head until y'all pointed it out that that was the real Nikki. These kinda horror movies aren't really my kinda vibe but this movie is so well done nonetheless, objectively this movie is as good as it can get, subjectively though it's not really my jam. Everything before the party at Ian's I didn't care for, but once we get to that point it just ramps up for me and I enjoyed it more. Enjoyed it more with y'all as well so that increased my enjoyment of this movie. At first I gave this a 3.75/5 but after watching it with y'all I can bump it up to a 4.5/5.

Chantal

Oak’s faces make horror reactions so fun 😆

Chantal

They were not happy, joking during the rape scene….

Chantal

What I noticed is the medicine cabinet doesnt close all the way… I think it was accidental….

Knightmare

So it's ok for him to take advantage of someone who is supposedly on a drug binge and is going through what everybody assumes is a manic episode because he's shy and insecure? 😂

Kalkent

That's...not what I said.

ShaniaBADDIE4LIFE🤘🐶🐱✨

I love that I got three different reactions with this movie: Oak being a scaredy-cat *as usual*, Mason, Quinn, and Answer just having the time of their lives, and Diamond Dave just horrified and disgusted 🤣

Crystal

It does close all the way. In the scene he takes them to end it, it was fully closed. If you go back and look at the scene right after he finds Sandy, you see he poured out a bunch of dry cat food and had some open cans of wet food around the pills on the floor. Also when he’s on GenieLM looking up MDMA (right before Nikki comes to the porch) his search history for July says Oxycodone, the pills Sandy ate and died from. The letter Sarah got from Luther was dated July 25. And like I said before, that’s why Nikki keeps bringing Sandy back up. Bear wants to bury what he’s done, but Nikki keeps making him face it which mirrors what’s going on with Nikki the whole movie.

Sean Carroll

This is a terrible take. Bear did not intentionally kill his cat, that is idiotic to even think. He also doesn’t want her to worship him etc. Bear is simply a sad and pathetic individual who is probably a virgin and never been in a relationship so has such desperation for some form of love and connection. The wish was completely throwaway not imagining it was real or would work. His actions after he conclusively finds out she is not the same Nikki is when you can say he is a terrible person but this movie is simply the tragedy of the nice guy that is so prevalent in society these days. He wanted love but when he finally got it (despite how twisted it was) he was such a loser that he wanted to hold onto it no matter what

Sean Carroll

Obviously a bear, this was the dumbest discourse from a few years ago. I get your joke though even though the director confirmed he didn’t call him bear because of it

Sean Carroll

It’s pretty obvious that he finally learns it’s true at the dinner scene and everything he does after that is despicable.

Knightmare

You said that POV matters. The POV from his own mouth in the beginning is that he thought she was on a drug binge and her dad was dying from cancer. I mean these are the real-time thoughts from the movie.

Crystal

Sandy isn’t his cat, it’s his grandma’s cat. That pretty clear in the cat decor and the pic of Sandy on the wall. That’s the same grandma he was trying to get in a nursing home (literally in his June GenieLM search history). It’s also very clear that Bear is selfish, doesn’t like taking care of people if it’s an inconvenience or requires a lot from him. That’s very clear from how things play out with wish Nikki. Even if you make the argument Sandy somehow was able to get the pills from the cabinet and open them, the cat can’t open two cans of wet cat food lol And he searches Oxycodone in July and Sandy dies by ingesting Oxycodone at the beginning of July….. To me it’s very obvious Sandy’s death was not accidental, it explains why Sandy is continuing brought up and it mirrors what’s actually happening in the film. I said love/worship not as actual worship like you would a diety, but explain the kindve love he’s looking for which is like an admiration type love not an intimate deeply knowing type love you would have with a partner. Also I’m not debating if the wish was a throw away or not. But I am saying that the wish honored what he said and how he viewed Nikki, which was not as a person but a fantasy. That’s really the core issue, not that he thought the wish would work. So yea, going to agree to disagree and say Bear was terrible from the start. Viewers just have sympathy for him because he plays the victim and you think he’s the nice guy.

luca

Absolutely. Those are facts. Undeniable. I simply said that what we as audience know as to be conviction - absolute truth - that what transpired the change in Nikki's behaviour was result of the one wish willow, that realization wasn't cemented in Bear's mind from the very beginning. The point I try to made was that he didn't know that by making this wish, he essentially took Nikki's agency. To him her actions were consensual in the beginning, which is evident by his reaction after Nikki snaps back to her real self temporarily after their first kiss. He was scared shitless, plenty of times he told her to leave and all that. But yes, he knew something was very very wrong - from the beginning - and he should have not even entertained the idea. But that wasn't the point I was arguing; again, so there is no confusion, the basis of my thought was regarding the infancy of this whole thing, that Bear didn't do this thinking it was going to change anything. It was, as Oak said, an act of novelty. I personally feel the continuing conflict of his inner desires vs what he knows is right is what made bear such a fascinating character.

Marie RammGirl

All your reactions throughout this movie was great! DD slowly backing away in his chair, Oak's ragging on his dress sense & Quinn/Answer just having a good ol' time, also first it was DD's Microphone during a Bridgerton reaction, now Answer's Mic during this freaky film, ya may have a pervy poltergeist in the studio hehe 🤭 that poor girl Nikki will be traumatised for life now. (Actress Inde who played her crushed her role) an interesting but terrifying 'Be Careful What You Wish For' concept of a movie.

niyjah

I love it lol

X27

“Obv a bear-“ not when the dude in the movie is doing shit bears wouldn’t do?? It’s obviously the man 😭 did you even get that discourse or

Cat

Really enjoyed this reaction, thanks as always guys❤️Just thought I’d leave some things you may have missed that I found fascinating. For me, the entire movie was a metaphor for sexual assault/the toxic masculinity we sadly see in today’s culture. From the get go, the director wanted to make it obvious that Nikki does not like Bear romantically at all and views him as a friend/brotherly figure. They actually filmed it twice, once with her liking him and one without and ended up going with the latter which drove the entire story, in my opinion. The conversation between Nikki and Bear the night after the wish with her reassuring him that he didn’t assault her despite her supposedly being ‘on something’, from my lens, was a kind of on the nose way to acknowledge that this is not consensual and brings the movie back to real life scenarios where this sadly does happen. Potentially, it was also an attempt from Nikki to try and show him that this is not her and this is in fact a non consensual scenario, but Bear ignores this and continues to ignore this for the entirety of the movie - personally, I feel he always knew the wish had worked and simply didn’t care, he was too focused on wanting the ‘idea of Nikki’ no matter the cost (until the cost became too great right at the end). The poem that Nikki read at the party, for me, was a way for the ‘real Nikki’ to try and tell Bear that it isn’t her, with the mention of siblings being incestuous and the ‘willow tree’. Overall, I think it’s a movie shining a light on the real issues we have with consent in today’s world, masterfully curated through the horror genre, which for me, is the best genre to showcase these real-life horrors into a form of cinema that we can digest. Thanks again for the reaction and special mention to DD for clocking Bear from the get go👀

ct

@Sean Carroll “Obv a bear” according to whom? We are not all men nor would feel safe with one. Get over it and wipe the tears off your sleeve.

Blud

When did he defend him? He said that IN THE BEGINNING, he was just an anti social loser that made a wish on a dumb little scam toy. It wasn’t until later when Bear knew that she wasn’t Nikki but still made excuses to still be with her.

Sarah_M

Tis the era of the horror renaissance and I am here for it. Fantastic movie and fantastic reaction fellas! 🙌

getjev

He definitely did not kill his cat intentionally. His reaction upon seeing Sandy doesn’t suggest that. That is psychopathic behaviour and as much of a POS as he is in this movie, he is not a psychopath. Bear is an incredibly lazy person and his utter negligence kills Sandy. There are food cans scattered everywhere along with a ripped bag of kibble. Its clear he did not take good care of Sandy at all and just drops food for her wherever. When he was out, she goes looking for food because she’s starving and accidentally knocks the pills over because Bear is too LAZY to close the bottle after using it and put it back where it belongs. He disposes of his cat in a trash bag rather than burying her and even worse just left it lying around. The first 10 mins tells you everything you need to know about his character and from then his decision making is all downhill. He doesn't care much about the consequences of his actions and the first few scenes basically foreshadow his treatment of Nikki. He is just pure selfishness, negligence and recklessness and its ultimately what ruins Nikki’s life in the end

ShikShark

Not too many people talk about how Sarah texted her friend’s bf at 3 am to go kiss in the park. It seemed like Nikki had no real friends. Nikki needed someone to actually step in and speak for her. Sure, people kept saying she’s being weird, but not one person actually tried intervening and getting her help when they all thought she was going through something.

Summers

Got recommended to me by somone who enjoyed it. I say it was revenge for estressing them when I convinced them to watch the Drama. They liked The Drama but they found it as stressful as I foubd this movie. I enjoyed it regardless, but so stressful.

Summers

Everyone mentions the dinner. I cant remember the dinner scene. 🤣 To me it is cemented when she asks to be killed for freedom and he takes it persobaly as an insult to his pride. She aint even blaming him and he makes it about "why do you prefer death over being with me". I was like the heck is wrong with you you fool. She aint even asking you to die to fix this as attonement. She is giving you and her an out and you take an insult out if it? In that response you created a million reasons and that attitude is reason 1 millionth why someone would choose death over being with you. Thats what thought when watching the movie.

bhargavi pba

The specific moment when Oak defended Bear, he already knew that the Wish had affected Nikki and that she was suffering. Barring the first 10 mins of the film, Bear does not deserve any grace because he knows exactly what he is doing.

bhargavi pba

That's actually quite plausible. Nikki has these weird physical movements that almost look like she is trying to copy a cat. Add to that her almost childlike behavior, its a fair assumption that it could be the spirit of the cat.

Summers

Got to comment this to you. Cause I did not know about the cat and it makes my cousin's theory all the more compelling (regardless if its right or wrong) and entretaining. My cousin has this theory that the spirit that takes over Nikki when Bear asks the wish for Nikki to love him more than anything is the spirit of his cat. Thats why the cat brings him the dead body of the cat like when cats bring you dead animals as "food".

Summers

O my god. 😮He litterally did the "sociopath test" story (not real test). Where you meet your crush in a funeral so to meet them again you create another funeral? So he could flirt with Nikki? Or did he hate his cat cause it reminded him of his grandma? 🤔 Holy, did he kill his grandma?😱 I was reading this chinese gay novel (I think theres a live action) where is like supernatural ghost detectives and such and theres this side story about a girl giving her soul to vring her grandma back to life because she was the only one who loved her. And it works but her grandma who came back to live isnt all right, whether because the load it took on her soul to come back or just physical or age, she deteriorated mentally and physically fast so intead of keep supporting her the young woman had to support her grandma who is not all there anymore like a child, and later you find out she kills her cause she decides she cant handle the pressure even though she gave part of her life to bring her but she didnt like what she got (there more to that short side story that makes it all the more interesting but this reminded me of that).

Chrissy

The person who played Nikki was amazing. Everyone in this movie was great. Everyone sucks in their own way, to be honest.

Chrissy

My friend and I had discussed it, and we settled on it being that maybe when the wish was made, Nikki was split into two people. One that Bear wished for, and the actual Nikki, who kept fighting for control over her own mind.

r

from everything i heard about this movie i'm kinda scared to watch but oh here we go

Meurydice

Folks, how scary is this film? I don’t typically do horror but I’m intrigued! Some of the comments are saying it’s disturbing but is it really that bad?

Halima

It’s really not scary (imo), the disturbing parts are about the subject matter/themes

Sarah Soares

Real Nikki also looked at Bear like a brother, that’s why she wrote that poem of Hansel and Gretel when she was already under the one wish willow

Lisa Clark

If Oak was unsettled during this, he's really going to be on the edge of his seat during Hokum, should they choose to watch it. I just watched it last night and it scared the shit out of me- and I've seen a lot of horror movies.

r

I also thought the same because of what she said to sarah & that brother sister incest story

r

This is why I have a love hate relationship with this kind of storyline because yeah now she's finally free again but her life's f*cked, and her mentality will never recover from this 😭

r

Wait now I'm curious, how on earth could bear possibly be the hero in a scenario like this 🤔

Karissa M

I’m not the biggest horror fan either but I absolutely loved this one! As someone else commented, it’s more the real world themes that are disturbing but imo that’s what makes it that much better!

Anna

The dinner scene is where Ian tells Bear that Nikki is lying about her dad having cancer. This begins to make Bear suspect the wish might have worked and he goes back to the table and asks Nikki “Do you love me more than anyone else in the world”, because that is how he had phrased the wish, and she says yes. That’s when it clicks. That’s why the scene afterwards where it cuts to them being intimate is so disgusting.

Crystal

How could Sandy be starving if her bag of dry food is open and spilled across the floor? Also the meds were in the medicine cabinet because that’s where is grandma left them. But the one bottle of oxy, that he literally had recently searched, was the one bottle out and laying around? No lol he put the bottle out. I wouldn’t be surprised if he left the bottle out with the lid a jar so he could feel not responsible if Sandy knocked it over and ate it, instead of pouring out the pills himself. But at the end of the day, he definitely still did it on purpose.

Crystal

There are definitely theories he killed his gma because in June he had two different searches for nursing homes and July the search for oxycodone. Idk if he killed his grandma, or did something where he could say it was her fault and not his. But I’m 100% convinced he killed Sandy purposely.

melrr

It's creepy more than scary tbh. It's more psychologically unsettling than outright jump-scare stuff.

Anthony Velasquez

I usually dont care for these type of movies but decided to check it out because kept hearing good things about it and this is how this type of movie should be done I came away impressed 5/5

Anthony Velasquez

And Bear was a pos he continually did the wrong things even in the end after taking those pills he tried to throw them backup it was only when Nikki used the wish it stopped Bear from throwing up the pills

Marie

I see a lot of inspiration from Get Out by Jordan Peele

Katia

It is pretty bad but too be fair from her perspective, Nikki was her best friend, she confided in Nikki about having the biggest crush on bear, Nikki claimed she was going to try to set them up, and then the next day she finds out Nikki and Bear are now dating…. Mind you she knew that Nikki was involved with their other guy friend so from Sarah’s perspective it looks like Nikki stole her crush just because he was her crush.

getjev

lol sure. ill reiterate: he's not a psychopath, he's just extremely negligent and selfish. its kinda the basis of his character. i mean you can just look this up. its confirmed he did not do it intentionally

So Tired

Also forgot to mention, hopefully someone already did already, but monkey’s paw was actually inspired by the creator to make this movie.

So Tired

You’re simple minded. Women’s pick bear because they already know its intentions, when it comes to a man, they don’t know their intentions, which is scarier than a bear. It all comes down to predictability, motives, and trust dude.

val ‹𝟹

omg was it a 'the bear' reaction because that's also when i felt the same about oak

Odd Thomas

You guys should watch the "X" horror series next. I would love to hear your perspective on those.

DreamCanopy

I love Oak so much, but the one thing that bothers me about his comments, in this and other reactions, is his very negative reaction to female characters wanting a male character as a friend or brother, instead of a romantic partner. The whole concept of ‘friendzoning’ as something terrible that happens to poor men is insane to me. It makes it feel like women’s love and affection outside the remantic/sexual is not valuable or desirable. As a woman, I always feel very insulted when a guy reacts as if my friendship is not good enough to be worth having. As if the only thing of value I can bring to a bond with another human is sex and romance. From the perspective of women, many of us would give anything to have more men our age in our lives to be our friends and ‘found-family brothers’. Everyone is always talking about the male loneliness epidemic, but the truth is that women are very lonely too. Many of us women look at great girls AND guys around us and truly want to form bonds of love, care, trust and support that don’t involve romance of any kind. That love is not less powerful or less important just because it is not romantic (just like the love we have for our family). You guys have each other as friends, so you truly know the value of friendship. Women want that too, and not exclusively with other women! It is such a betrayal to realise that someone you would have trusted with your life, as if he was your own brother, just wanted to get in your pants all along. Which is what happens to poor Nikki in this movie. Seeing Oak always bewildered when girls in movies want guys to be their friends is just painful and disappointing every time. We girls want male friends too – real ones, like you guys are for each other. When we offer our friendship to men, we would want it to be cherished and valued, not looked down on as if it was nothing. The value of the deep love we put into our friendships should not be looked at with contempt. It is not any less powerful, beautiful and deep than romantic love – it is just different, like familial love is.

DreamCanopy

The concept of being "friend-zoned" is heavily rooted in misogyny and entitlement. It frames healthy boundaries as a malicious trap by the person being pursued, rather than a natural lack of mutual attraction. It operates on the assumption that being kind, friendly, or spending time with someone "earns" you a romantic or sexual reward. The term implies that platonic friendship is a "consolation prize" or an inferior type of relationship, when in fact, friendship is just as valuable as any other type of bond. This ‘friendzone’ concept ultimately reduces women to binary options: romantic interests or rejections. Women are human beings, capable of feeling, being and offering much more than just one of these two ‘options’.

Megan

Wow, I absolutely see why they kept this in theaters much longer. I completely hate Bear, actually the entire friend group was shitty to Nikki. Ian and Sarah were the most two-faced people and not a single "friend" actually cared that Nikki suddenly had a "mental break." Nope, it became "Oh Bear is in trouble and she's using him." While they didn't deserve what happened, I don't feel bad about it. Idc, Nikki was victimized this whole time (by all them, Bear was just worse) and not ONE PERSON even cared. Yes Bear made the wish but he didn't think it was real, just hoped it would work. But either way, he wanted to take away her free will. Already a walking flag after he killed his cat and that weird confession opening. However, the moment he knew (flashback of breaking the stick happened shortly after, so he knew long before the phone call), he became absolute trash. I was rooting for his demise the entire time and he deserved every single second of fear he felt. Everything that happened was Bear's fault and he deserved worse. We see know why he wished for her obsession because he didn't even love her. He just treated her like an object and because he wanted her, he thought she should be his.

Knightmare

The actress for Nikki said she took inspiration from Get Out for the diner scene and wow I'm glad she did

Megan

I knew he was trash from the get go, something was just off. Then it became clear after the reveal of him sleeping with Nikki and then making the wish for himself. Sara was trash because she started the "pick me" bs to drive a wedge between Bear and Nikki. Not a SINGLE person cared that Nikki was suffering. Bear knew why but to the "friends" it would've looked like a mental break and all they cared about was Bear.

Miya

Oh man, the "alter" scene is what solidified my hate for Bear. At that point, I was with DD: he can go ahead and die now lol. Great work from the actor who played him. Everyone killed it in this movie, with Inde as a clear standout ofc.

Miya

Omg I was laughing so hard at that I started crying! Absolutely hysterical 😂

Miya

😂😂😂

Summers

Didnt say psycopath, I said sociopath. Like the " create a second funeral to meet the crush you met on the first one" story (fake story but entretaining one). I just think itd be interesting theoreory (even if it were fake) if he did kill the cat to be close with Nikki while she conforts him. Also, if he did killed thr cat wouldnt it ve interesting if the spirit that takes over Nikki that loves him the most that bring him the dead cat body, the spirit of said cat? I just found it potentially entretaining. Him not being a sociopath, just a man making easy decisions fot fast reward with little to no concequences he thinks he can avoid that happen to be unpeakably dark and cruel is darker because it is real. But the other its just entretaining for the consipiracies theories.

DreamCanopy

Also, Diamond Dave is my HERO!!!! He was so perceptive throughout the reaction, and his thoughts were so wise! Strikes me as a very empathetic and honourable person.

Rena Unnie

it was all about his own obsession! he never loved her!

Rena Unnie

I think it happens way before that, the dinner does cement it, but he noticed something off right at the beginning ; In the car, he drops a look at the back, where he left the used wish.

Anna

You’re right. I rewatched it the other day and he does begin to wonder in the car

Knightmare

Idk man her fingerprints are on that gun AND the back on Sarah's scalp 😭

Knightmare

Yesss I love when DD does reactions

Miya

That's cool to know! S/O to Betty Gabriel who played Georgina in Get Out. She had such little screen time and yet her performance so iconic.

Miya

As a scaredy-cat, I was okay. However, there are some very disturbing themes and the last 20 minutes are very gory. There are also a handful of good jump scares. I recommend looking the movie up at DoesTheDogDie.com and checking to see if there's anything in the movie that may trigger you.

Michael

Great reaction! Holy shit haha this was wild one for sure i remember as soon as this movie ended and im just sitting there in shock i was like… yep this is why Genie from Aladdin said that was the one rule you can’t wish for someone to love you or however it’s worded but yeah just wow!

Carolina M

felt this about men reactors sometimes, but what makes me like this group is that i feel realness in them and also, the openess to reflect in their opinions, and maybe change their perspective? I dunno, but everyone makes mistakes and everyone can still learn; I hope the comments make them reflect on a few things and change whatever needs changing, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt

Grant

As a woman, you wouldn't understand. As a man, well...... Any man can tell you why female friendship is generally not as "valued" as romantic attachment. It's valid that women feel like it's a betrayal when they find that men have ulterior motives. It is a betrayal. However, women are not men. And men think very differently about the whole relationship dynamic between opposite sexes. It is what it is.

cait

amazing movie. poor nikki mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Vegar

After Bear sees she cut his hair, you can see Nikki reading the book upside down.

Rajat Kumar

@SoTired This is like saying "I'd rather get a life threatening disease than something that might be life threatening" Do you realise how ridiculous that sounds?

Rajat Kumar

His upset face looks exactly like Nikki in the party scene

Rajat Kumar

Terrible take imo, Oak is literally just going into his own experiences, has nothing to do with "All men must get the woman they want". It's art, it's based around our own experiences. That's why they laugh when Nikki is doing something insane. Every guy has grown up knowing some sort of crazy GF from personal experience or through friends or memes. It's reminiscent of that.

Rajat Kumar

spare us the pop psychology.. I have friends that are female and we know the boundaries, you're either talking about highschool or hanging out with adult males with the brain of highschoolers

Rajat Kumar

I would just like to say as my own comment, this movie brought everyone to discuss the moral and ethical ideas of the story, which is what art should do. Bear is a POS and a giant pussy for not saying what he wanted to say to Nikki in the car and for prolonging that disgusting slavish behaviour from Nikki. That being said.. Women really hating bear and comparing him to real guys but overlooking the fact that there are women in real life that act like Nikki and don't even have a curse on them.. just a self-diagnosed "mental issue". I've known many women, that have screamed, cursed, threatened, gotten heavily jealous to the point of self harming in ways that Nikki was doing (albeit not to the levels of smashing a head through a window), but very OBSESSIVE types. I see it a lot, women think guys don't talk, they do. So I don't know why it's such a big surprise to women in this comment section that these guys were laughing at some parts, SOME WOMEN DO ACT LIKE THIS. This movie seems to have brought out only hate for men unfortunately, it was meant to shed light on real life relationships and our unhealthy attachments to people lol, not hatred for one gender. But let's be honest, men aren't allowed to talk about irl Nikkis without having to preface it with "Bear is wrong in the movie".. so most men don't bother sharing their feelings when they know 100 women are just gonna call him a "misogynist, victim blamer, abuse advocate" etc.

Rajat Kumar

@X27 I think you're not reading the whole comment

DreamCanopy

spare us the male dismissive and aggressive responses..

X27

I think YOURE not reading any of the reply’s at all. If a mans take away from the bear vs man discourse was “it’s silly” ignoring why women even chose the bear in the first place, then he’s a confident idiot.

Justin Russell

I won’t lie this movie was good, but damn did it get too overhyped for me 😅 part of it is I do have poor night vision and so almost all the night scenes especially in the bedroom scenes I literally couldn’t make out anything in the scene. I also figured Bear to be a piece of shit 10 seconds into seeing him, his face just screamed POS 😂 the actress was 10/10 fantastic, and the movie was quite good but I don’t see it as revolutionary like others are claiming it is. It was a good first film.

cait

the whataboutism is strong

Claytor

1:11:45 this is Appleton Oak the entire movie lol

dany

That was never my read on Oak, I always assume he's simply cringing for the guy because it's an awkward experience.

Rajat Kumar

I don't think you know what that means in this context lol, it seems a lot of people here are armchair psychologists

Rica

I agree. Humans are ever evolving creatures 😁

Leah

The bag was ripped cause sandy ripped it? She probably knocked pills over as well, whether through playing or while she was looking for food. The pills were probably left cuz he was using them and failed to put that cap on properly. The scene was to foreshadow bears negligence and irresponsibility. No he did not intentionally kill the cat.

Babydoll

As a recent fan, I am convinced DD is a GIRL DAD! In all the reactions I have seen so far, he seems the most knowledgeable when it comes to female characters and their emotions. I love it lol

So Tired

You're clearly ignorant.

Kathryn Murders

Omg I also waited for them to react to it so I didn't have to pay for it (rough financial time and all) but REALLY wanted to watch it 😂

Leona

"Well, I guess the good thing about a closed book is I get to read from the start." - Nikki Mason Quinn: “Oh, what a line. You should write that down.” Answer: “You(!) should write that down.” Oak: “I ain’t f*** writing down a thing she says.” This might have been one of the funniest interactions I have heard today 😭😂

cait

i don’t think you understand the point of the movie and instantly went to “wOmEn dO tHiS tOo” stance. pretty cringe

Rajat Kumar

Did you even read anything that I wrote? If you're not capable of understanding my comment then why not just move on.. you're doing exactly what I said in my comment lol

Miya

I believe MQ has daughters lol. Not sure about DD though!

Miya

@Cait Definitely agree. To watch this movie and then leave a comment like "there are real life Nikkis out there!!" is next level. They completely skipped over the very interesting themes explored in the film (e.g., stripping of agency, projection, idealization and devaluation, etc.) to basically say "not all men." Like, read the room lol.

Rajat Kumar

@Miya I'm sorry, but what a ridiculous statement. I'm supposed to mention the entire movie's themes to be able to discuss what I want to? You two in the comments have literally proven my point of the things I've mentioned in the main comment. You overlook the substance of the argument and just repeat a soundbite. Do any of you actually read the comments you're replying to? Or do you see something that annoys you and blow it out of proportion to negate the entire discussion? I haven't said "not all men", nor was anything I was discussing related to that. I was saying how the movie shouldn't bring out gender hatred. It was a discussion of PEOPLE'S unhealthy attachments. I was literally just giving the point of view I have, which is from the male side. I even prefaced it and said at the end how it won't matter anyway. I swear, this community is slowly turning very toxic and ignorant.

Rajat Kumar

@SoTired Have you ever seen a bear in person?

Rajat Kumar

@X27 Ah, I get it now. Some grammar would really help, that was kinda confusing. But it is pretty silly of a discourse lol.. imagine if a man had to decide: Be trapped in a room with a woman or a swarm of angry wasps? "Wasps because at least I know their motives" Do you see how ridiculous this scenario is? It's a braindead concept of symbolism.

Arudorin

This movie deserves its success. Bravo to the entire cast! I hope this earns Inde Navarrette an Emmy! By the way, I prefer your reactions over those of reel rejects, jaby and achara regarding this movie. I feel like they either come off as fake or are simply acting dumb about their opinions just to attract more engagement from viewers, which seems to be working for them. But honestly, I find them to be quite asf!

Miss Maya

this is one of the most fucked up disturbing things I have ever seen I'm traumatized!! I don't know if Nikki can ever recover from this :(( the worst part is all those people at the party seen her acting crazy and being obsessive and possessive.... you know people will think he killed all three of them there is no way out of this. my god horrific :( this poor girl. also I know this wasn't Bear's intention at first but even when he knew smth is wrong he kept going I don't remember ever hating character as much as I hated him most of the movie

Jeremy Montanez

Nooooooo dam it!!! I should have watched the YouTube video before I joined on here. I won't watch any reaction much less buy a subscription if anyone defends Bear. I have a huge personal hatred for that character probably more then I've ever had for any character on screen.

Jeremy Montanez

Something that truly disgusts and I've actually heard it is that people defend Bear because of his looks. Like WTAF that's like saying a real life SAer can get a free pass because there cute.

marylove.xo

Did I say anything about his looks? It's because of how selfish his thought process is, I found it completely absurd how Nikki was begging Bear to kill her and his first thought was 'oh what's so bad about being with me?', and their reaction to the scene being disbelief made me laugh bc that's how I reacted too and it made me feel validated in my outrage

ct

@Rajat You’re all up in these comments like a misogynistic mouthbreathing loser. Grow the hell up

Miss Maya

I just want to add since you refereed to a demon several times. there was no actual demon possessing Nicki. it's just that the magic of the wish is so strong it rewritten her mind and feelings and created this alternative version of Nikki, while the real her was stuck somewhere behind it in subconsciousness , like in another realm which sounds like some hell dimension. but she wasn't "possessed" by some specific demon it was like new alternate twisted version of Nikki herself- but it's Nikki that is only obsessed with him and everything else is stripped she only exists for him. scary shit

Miss Maya

when Bear is yelling to Nikki "everything was normal everything was good" towards the end... the delusion pisses me off so much! NOTHING was normal since the start. it was good for him maybe.. he didnt give a shit if it was good for her. she was screaming in hell the whole time. the metaphors... he really represents all those types of sick men that abuse women and treats them like shit for years than is honestly surprised when they want breakup/divorce and claims "everything was good" until recently

Badd Medicine

Jeremy, did you watch the review? Nobody here defended Bear for he's actions towards Nikki.

Rajat Kumar

@Film55 lol, I like how you included "Male" because that's all you care about, I'm not a human to you, I'm a label. Some of you are huuuuuuggeeee hypocrites.

Rajat Kumar

@ct Explain to me how anything I've said in this comments is "misogynistic". What I see in these chats are women that hate males, ironic isn't it? You throw that word around when you're defending sexism from females lol

DreamCanopy

@Rajat you might want to consider that you might be the one missing the point on literally all of the comments that you are rashly responding to. Every one of your comments is proving everyone else's point, and your responses to other people's comments are rather entitled and rude. If you feel everyone else here is wrong, and "not capable of understanding", and "ridiculous", and "toxic", as per your own words… I don’t know, maybe the problem is you.

Rajat Kumar

@Film55 You're joking right? The last two responses made up in their own heads what I said without even reading what I said. Have you read it? I've agreed with everything people are saying about Bear lol And you're the person that was talking about how friendzone is rooted in misogyny in another comment and used "Male" to distinguish my thoughts into that category to dismiss my thoughts lol. Even rashly, at least my arguments have substance and don't sound like chatgpt regurgitation. I don't result into soundbites and using gender to pigeon hole you.

DreamCanopy

@ct you are awesome for calling him out but honestly, he is just having a tantrum with his own self. Let him be, don’t waste your time. Let's put our weekend to better use! ;) I am happy the topic resonated – love you all so much! xx

ct

@Film55 I agree wholeheartedly! Definitely gonna put my time to something more productive ❤️ Love you too and your great initial comment!!

DreamCanopy

@ct Thanks so much girl!! Have an awesome weekend, wherever you are in the world!❤️

Char

Honestly MAJOR props to Diamond Dave for being the ONLY reactor I have ever seen react to this movie who says, straight up, that Bear SHOULD off himself. Kudos, kudos, kudos.

Char

you called women "females" first, then turn around and cry and whine when you're called "male" in response? typical boo-boo loser behavior.

Liz

Also want to state that he absolutely knows she isn't acting herself from the beginning. Instead of making sure she IS ok physically and mentally, he takes advantage of her.

Liz

I also wanted to note that Ian seemingly was willing to make the wish for Bear until Bear says something like "then you can have Nikki." It illustrates, yet again, that Bear sees her as an object, not a person. He's a villain from the beginning. The first indicators being his negligence and disregard for his inherited cat. Then his very mild attempt to dissuade Nikki of leaving her job when he knows it makes her unhappy. These things are not particularly troublesome if they were few and far between. You could easily take these faults as immaturity (even though he's an adult man) or general flaws all people have. It's the continuation of escalating responses and decisions that cement him as a bad person. It's highlighting his history of disregard to other's desires and needs. It shows us that this is a behavioral pattern, not a rare occurrence. He had this in him from the beginning.

Eboe Thrasher

Am I the only person who on the first watch-through though the cat's throat was also slit? I am a cat person so I'm not planning on going back and rewatching that at all.

Eboe Thrasher

I'm not shooting myself either, so... call me a pussy for that if you want, but I've been robbed at gunpoint twice so there wouldn't even be a gun in the house at all.

Eboe Thrasher

The one problem with this scenario is the lack of communication and understanding. If he had never expressed his emotions and she had never expressed her feelings about him, then it is all unsaid and you can't just go off "vibes" - people need to learn to communicate better and let people know what the situation is. I know I once made a stupid pass at a good friend when we were both in high school. I feel like we are all forgetting that these people are supposed to be in high school, too. And some people are also not able to read people... he could be mildly autistic, or have some other sort of mental disorder that makes it harder for him to read other people. That's why we need to communicate better, because we never know what capabilities someone else has.

Eboe Thrasher

To me, at some point, it feels like he is more under obligation based upon her behavior of screaming at him, putting duct tape on the door, all of that behavior starts to make him feel trapped to some extent. I'm not siding with him, just saying that at some point he does feel trapped because of her actions and how out of control they are. Of course that is his own fault as well but like Oak said he didn't know that would happen to him.

Eboe Thrasher

Literally not what he was saying in this one, and his point was correct, there was no communication of feelings between the two, you can't go off vibes.

Eboe Thrasher

Did he talk about his dad having cancer anywhere in the intro?

Nebula

Maybe you thought this was clever but this is is such a horrible thing to say tbh...like "he wasnt man enough to shoot himself what a pussy"

ellie

Girl the point is that he died exactly like his cat did, get a grip 🫩 idc abt calling Bear a pussy, cause that’s what he is.

ellie

Well it’s not about you tho, is it?

Laura Murray

Exactly. Even the term "Friend-zone" makes it seem like the woman has wronged someone. Just by treating them exactly like she had thought their relationship was, a friendship. It makes it sound malicious. When if anything, the man "girlfriend-zones" her first. They put her in this zone she never agreed to, and assume, and then when she is confused, and rejects him. Or even just treats him like a friend, it's seen as her victimising, or taking advantage of him.

DustinEatWorld

I thought the movie was just okay. I actually found Weapons and The Backrooms much better—especially Weapons. The film didn't offer any surprises; you know exactly where it’s heading quite early on. There are a few creepy scenes with her weird movement and such, but I really didn't like the sound effects during the dramatic moments. They felt just like those from every generic, run-of-the-mill trailer. I didn't like the ending at all. Why didn't he just lock her up and call the police? Honestly, the ending really ruined it for me. Given all the hype, I was expecting a lot more from this movie.

DustinEatWorld

As a fan of horror and thriller genre I thought this movie was just OK, not even close to the hype on social media where pundits saying it's the greatest horror of all time. I thought Backrooms and especially Weapons were better movies. The movie had good creepy moments like the night sleep scene and the rewind motion, but relies heavily on Jump scares and "boo" sound effects which gets tired. Also initially the thing where she hides in a dark corner was creepy but gets repetitive and "here we go again" when you see her do it over and over. The outcome was very predicable too. Not a terrible movie, I did enjoy watching it but not a great movie either. 6/10 for me just average.

LilithCain

I have an unconfirmed theory that his grandmother may have died from cancer since oxy is sometimes prescribed to cancer patients. Otherwise I think it was just one of Wish-Nikki's many changing tactics to stay with Bear.

Ichigoat

If bear purposefully killed the cat there would be no reason for him to be crying over its death. Bear was a piece of shit but he wasn't a psychopath. There was never anything mentally wrong with him. He was just a weak dude with no courage or accountability.

BecauseBeca

I’d encourage people to definitely pay for it when they can. Supporting these new directors and people who create original good films need to be supported so we can keep showing stupid producers that this is what we want. If you can afford Patreon, you can afford even the $2 rental when it’s available.

BecauseBeca

From the very first scene, all Bear can say is how he likes Nikki for what she does for him. Almost nothing about her and her desires. Selfish, cowardly man.

X27

@rajatkumar Just seeing this now, and let’s not be obtuse you understand exactly what the replies are saying??? And we don’t have to imagine if a man would decide on a woman vs angry wasps discourse bc 99% men don’t fear being killed or raped daily the way women do bc a large portion of men all over the world are violent and kill women everyday. How stupid this reply is, the fact that you pressed send is insane 😭 gtfo.

Ana

I’m late to commenting since I just watched obsession today and immediately looked up the guys reaction on Patreon. But when Oak called out the sweaters I had the same train of thought that led me to Cosby and the SA scene in Obsession. The sweaters Bear wears look like a muted darker color palette of the sweaters I think of as a “Cosby” sweater. Then the bedroom scene with Bear and Nikki came up where her face held no expression or had a dead look, even though she was making noises like she enjoyed it. I was like wait, didn’t Cosby slip drugs to women in drinks and that’s how he assaulted them. And I thought one victim recounted going “in and out” of consciousness during the assault. Just like Nikki was going in and out. Then I thought nah, that’s just my conspiracy mind at work. THEN the scene with Bear and Sarah in the car when she was joking about tattooing her dad’s forehead and Bear says he can slip him some sleeping pills! Sarah laughs and Bear says “no I’ve got them, we could do it tonight lol” Maybe that’s just how my mind connected it but I wonder if that was intentional on the writers part. Showing how obsessed Bear really was and what he was willing to do or “joke” about doing to get things to work out for himself.

Ayo Bee

I understand what you are trying to say, but I think you're getting mixed up a little. The character, Bear, can be hated for his personality and what he represents (incels, rapists, "the nice guys") and so he can be compared to real life people. The same cannot be said for Nikki because though she is the ultimate victim, the character throughout the movie acts and is the consequences for Bear. It would be odd to say "I dislike Nikki's character because she reminds me of abusive women" when everything bad the character does is in result of an enormous, disgusting, selfish act of cruelty. You can't hate or love a character without taking the whole thing into consideration.

Rajat Kumar

@Ayo Bee Fair point and one of the only replies that actually has substance without resulting into teenager attitude. They're all still characters, they are all still fictional in this movie. If you're going to bring something out in the real world, don't pick and choose which aspects are ONLY able to be discussed. If it's art, it's ALL up for debate and commentary regardless of whether it upsets the majority of people that can't handle the conversation, especially if it does. People are too wrapped up in their own social media algorithm and the world is turning into men vs women. I see more and more people becoming sexist while virtue signalling that all people matter. That's just a deluded and hypocritical way to think. I took it light in this chat (mainly because I respect the BM guys and them not wanting their channel to turn into a fighting zone), I give way harder of a reply to men who are deluded by that same affliction than I do to women. Edit 1: I was more referring to the women in this chat that are having a go at the reactors for laughing at certain parts or not behaving how they want them to during certain scenes or the women that called me a bunch of names for having an opinion. Those women are Bear. Just because a male was the main antagonist, doesn't mean we can't swap the roles and it would be the same story in a different light. Edit 2: I didn't say I hate Nikki (The real one), she deserved to live her life.

Danny

Oh womp womp. It's their reaction. Get over it

Trouut

DD really pulled this group together in understanding just how f***ed up what Bear did was! Loved his constant Nat 20 predictions.

kyle

This was probably one of my favourite tracks, you guys were on top form, hilarious

4f cigarette burn

Picking the bear is the same level of insane that all these women claim that Lindsay Clancy is not guilty. Fucking mental shit that y'all make up within your minds and think it's normal to think or behave that way.

4f cigarette burn

You know I finally watched this, and all of the people around me talk high praises of the actress playing the main girl and how great she was, and how she's throwing it all away by joining the MCU... but nobody mentions about how good Michael Johnston was. This film was great and I enjoyed watching it with you guys. 8/10

Pinks

Hahahahaha I can't stop laughing 😂😂 now I understand why you guys started reacting to Black Mirror 😂🤣 "I won't be $&%£! writing anything she says" 😂😂 and omg, that watching him sleep 🤣 I thought I was creeped out watching this movie, glad to know others felt exactly the same like WTF are we watching 😂
