I agree with you guys about these are not just your stereotypical jock characters for the most part. Yeah, they're young, they're having fun and goofing off but these characters also display an emotional intelligence than I think is believable and well done. Garrett was probably the first example of that. In other shows and films, he wouldn't have understood the homework for their class at all. Here he did and could talk about it, but was almost overcomplicating things for himself. Dean would have simply been the comic relief elsewhere and he *is* funny, but he had that great scene in the weight room, too.

Also I think it is important to point out that Garrett also never told Dean or the other guys about Hannah’s past when he was seeking advice. He knows she trusted him with that knowledge and he has honored that trust by keeping it private.

These reaction videos may be my favorite ones you've done, and that's from someone who is still obsessed with your Harry Potter series! I'm always waiting to see/hear your reactions to the slight twists and showcasing of healthy masculinity or emotional intelligence that makes the show great. I think those changes are what shifts Off Campus away from other shows and part of why it's resonating with so many people. Can't wait for the next episodes and S2!! :)

I couldn't tell, did you guys pick up on the fact that the song Hannah serenaded Garrett with was the song she chose to "set the mood" and Garrett started dancing to get her comfortable and then afterwards while they were eating pasta salad, she asked Garrett how that song makes him feel and he said it makes him feel bold because it's saying "I like you, deal with it" and that's badass. So as soon as he heard Hannah singing THAT song, he knew what she was saying with it. I love that!

Oak, last episode you were talking about friends with benefits and you said something like, if you think friends can hook up and then just fistbump afterwards... I nearly spit out my drink and couldn't wait for you to see that scene. I know you were uncomfortable, you had your scrunch face on a lot during this episode, but I've heard other reactors say that was one of the most intimate scenes they have ever seen and there was NO nudity.

I think our guys are Hannah and Garrett’s biggest cheerleaders! ☺️ IMO this episode just further highlights that Sean doesn’t take Allie seriously at all. 🤷‍♀️ This is the episode where we all fell in love with Dean right?! ❤️‍🔥 Can’t wait for the next episode. Also wanted to point out that a trauma like Hannah’s can very much result in a physical block. So, in the beginning of the last episode, it wasn’t that she was thinking about Garrett as suggested. We all know that Garrett really likes her at the end of ep 2, but at this point, he also genuinely just wants to help her through it (obviously highlighted talking to Dean). ❤️‍🩹

I love seeing the looks on reactor's faces when Dean offers Garrett advise in the gym. I've heard people say "On no, don't talk to him! He's an idiot" among other things and I just wait for the confused look. I love Dean!!

There are three Tuesdays left in August. I think it’s safe to say Pride & Prejudice will take the place of Off Campus. If that’s true, I think we’ll get two episodes the next couple of Tuesdays of OC. Or maybe one and three? Given their T-shirt’s in reactions, they watch them in pairs already. It would be crazy if they dropped all four. But given Oak’s excitement he could’ve made them binge it! Maybe he made them binge it after the first episode and they just kept changing their shirts for filming. 😂😂😂😂😂

I really hope we stay on this romancey high! These reactions are so fun!! If I were to choose a series after P&P to keep going with the theme, I’d choose The Other Bennet Sister, because it is another wonderful short series about the sister to the main character of P&P. And stars an actress who had a small role in Bridgerton. I loved it! After that I’d switch back to modern era with the amazing Once Upon a Time. I know others want outlander, but I wasn’t a big fan of that show, but I’d be willing to try again. I also think it’s time to go through some of the 80s movies Oak loves. I know I’d love a rewatch!

Oak had strong opinions about Garrett helpng Hannah with her request. I'm looking at this from Hannah's POV. She has had a huge crush on Justin for a while and yes, she's spending more time with Garrett and is learning that he isn't the superficial jock that she initially thought, but she sees him as a guy who "doesn't do girlfriends." When she asked him for help with her issue, it probably didn't even occur to her that he had romantic feelings since he's just the casual hook up guy. Even after that, she told Allie that she wanted to be with Justin. I think when she spent time with Justin after Drunk Shakespeare and she didn't connect with him on the same level as she connected with Garrett, she finally realized that Justin is not the guy for her and went to find Garrett. Then she sang the song that Garrett himself said it makes him feel bold because it's saying "I like you, deal with it"

Episode 4 is one of my favorites — maybe even the most favorite of the whole series! And yes, I was surprised too that Hannah and Garrett admitted their feelings for each other so early on. I think people love this show for exactly the reason you talked about in the post-discussion. Having a group of jock guys as the main characters, only for them to turn out to be so thoughtful, emotionally mature, and respectful toward women, was such a refreshing surprise. And when I heard Dean’s advice, I was genuinely impressed and gave him a mental standing ovation 👏👏 And I absolutely loved the Drunk Shakespeare event in this episode. It looked like so much fun! I’m genuinely jealous that I never got to experience anything like that during my university years.

Oak’s conflicted expression after Garrett said, “You’re my friend, and you need me,” in response to Hannah’s request was interesting, but completely understandable. Personally, I think Garrett was the best person to help Hannah, and he made the right decision by agreeing. And I love how sweet and innocent Oak was for thinking they weren’t actually going to do it and would just hang out 😂 I mean, that’s exactly what Hannah needed. If Garrett had refused, it probably would’ve only made her shut down and struggle with sex even more. “His emotional intelligence is pretty impressive.” — And that is exactly what’s so attractive about Garrett and about the guys in general. Emotional intelligence should be the norm, not something rare! Oak screaming “Nothing is over!” at 43:31 was such a mood! 😂

Mason Quinn, you were asking about how Hannah and Garrett were planning to make Justin jealous, but in this episode Hannah was sitting with Justin during Drunk Shakespeare. You may not remember, but they mentioned in the first couple of episodes that Garrett doesn't do girlfriends, so he and Hannah were not "exclusive" and were casually dating. They went to the costume party together where Justin saw them together and saw them going up to a bedroom making everyone believe they were hooking up. They addresed it again when Hannah caught Garrettt hooking up with the girl while Cherry Pie was playing and Garrett reminded her that they weren't exclusive, so it didn't mess up their plan. At Drunk Shakespeare, Kendall told Hannah that everyone knew that she was the one who "locked down" Garrett Graham. Hannah told Kendall that she didn't "lock down" Garrett and he was free to unlock anyone he wanted to, even though, by that time Garrett wanted to be exclusive with Hannah and Kendall even called him out by saying he wanted Hannah to be his girlfriend. So in truth, Hannah was the one to "lock down" Garrett and give up his casual hookups and no girlfriend policy.

I'm rewatching your reaction and listening to your conversation after the episode. I believe when Dean and Garrett talked in the weight room, Garrett purposely said it was another girl when Dean asked because Garrett was trying to protect the secret that Hannah revealed to him, but when all the guys were at practice and talking, it seemed like Garrett was talking about Hannah specifically and how their evening ended abruptly when he got a text from a puck bunny. That's when Garrett's teammate, Birdie, said that Garrett didn't want the evening to end because he is into Hannah. It also explains why Logan was so upset when he got into his truck with Jules saying that Garrett was talking abut Hannah during their entire practice.

Personally, I have a lot of relationship to Hannah. I was 20 when I lost my card with my boyfriend, but I still have my same bf and now I’m 23. But it was a very scary thing to do vulnerable in that way I had bad things happened in the past and the first time I did cry afterwards my boyfriend wipe my tears and hug me and told me it was OK just cuddle and watches the flash. It’s good to have a man in your life. Respect you in a way when you’re really vulnerable and wants to know it’s okay to feel what I’m feeling. My dad’s whatever (gf)told me for years. That women belong in the kitchen and all men want from me is your body and nothing more to the point when I first had my experience and my boyfriendstopped and he talked about it and realizing that men don’t want you for your body.It’s a really big respect thing and trust thing and that’s what I like with this episode. it shows different sides?

I enjoy watching with your reactions but I still don't get the popularity of the show. It's so so so unrealistic even for the YA romance genre. All the frat boys are super nice and even the womanizer talks about how consent is important and paying attention to the woman's feelings etc... Come on. The show is very obviously the fantasy of what the author wants men to be like but to a point where the lack of realism makes me roll my eyes.
