Leah

Jjk fans, yall ready for ep 4?👀

Leif

Don’t be afraid to ask the community about the rules or concepts for the culling games and all that! It’s infamous for being super dense and quick (and def a lil confusing for first time watchers)!

BlakedAsFuh

its even a bit confusing for anime veterans too lol, so yeah BM dont be afraid to ask us some questions!

BlakedAsFuh

Hey so this arc gets really confusing but dont worry cus just about everyone watching for the first time were confused as well, i recommend that when yall get to the discussion portion of the reaction you go back to the long dialogue scenes and just read the subtitles n try to digest it thoroughly. If yall got questions please ask!!

BeeDee

so excited for episode 4. Really hoping that we can do a short anime next like erased, or the promised neverland before getting into the long ones like mha or hxh

Leif

Oh absolutely true LOLLL

Artem Dmytrenko

Pseudo-Geto is Yuji's momma, so sweet ❤️. This man (?) just loves making children.

Seth

Oak put it well! It's like watching sports without knowing all the rules. But if you do want to know the specifics, here's all the info in short: the culling game's purpose is to get enough cursed energy to transform mankind. Rules are structured so that the game cannot be ended in a way that would inhibit that goal. This forces people to fight and kill each other so that enough cursed energy can be gathered. To become a player in the game, you go to a colony (limited, designated locations in Japan). All curse users must join a colony within 19 days of the culling game starting, or die. If you kill a sorcerer, that's 5 points, and a normal person is 1. You can spend 100 points to add a rule so long as it doesn't inhibit the culling game's goal. If your points don't change for 19 days in a row, you will die. Megumi's sister (Tsumiki, the girl in the wheelchair) is forced to participate, which is why he wants to get enough points to make a rule that will somehow allow her (and others) out of the game that they were forced into. Kenjaku (brain-hopping guy), being 1000+ years old, also made pacts with sorcerers ahead of time so that when he finally starts this culling game, they would essentially be resurrected. They want to keep living and fighting, and Kenjaku wants them to do that so he gets cursed energy. It's a win-win for them, though it adds a ton of challenge for our crew. Also, this is part 1. Part 2 will be 2027 (rumors say earlier in the year), and after that it's either a movie to finish it off or a short season, with potential for a short season sequel series set decades in the future.

I had already read the manga and knew how the whole story ends, and I was still confused watching this ep the first time lololol I hope you guys rewatch on your own time in dub because it does make it easier to follow and absorb. (Before yall come for me cuz I know yall like to tussle, I’m not saying they need to switch the reactions to dub. Just their own personal rewatch)

Mintteacup

check out the endings sometimes

BlakedAsFuh

Tsumiki is Megumis sister btw idk if yall caught that

Alekksy

it wasnt Gojo that stopped Kenjaku in the past, it was the previous users of the six eyes, his ancestors. And also that less than 1% was for Nobara not Maki.

privatedadbod

as much as people hate the anime i feel like they would really enjoy Solo Leveling its simple especially right after a information heavy anime like JJK. Its also somewhat short.

Chikaaaa

Yuta moved to Africa at the end of the movie to train with Miguel (the black Kenyan man). He didn’t die.

Jess

It's just another manic Monday! 🤣 We've arrived, everyone!

SadakoTV

Can't wait for the skull crushing episode 4 :D

SadakoTV

For real, especially this ending is so lovely <3

SadakoTV

You should try to pause the opening at one time afterwards. There are LOTS of art references like "The Scream" by Edvard Munch, "Ophelia" by John Everett Millais, "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimt and many more . It's literally a love letter to art. Also the bloddy bathroom frame with Sukuna is peak.

Rena Unnie

I know I'm gonna be confused about the culling game and its rules, lol.

Hazzel

Yesssss

Yerena Fernanda

Realky hopppeee the next anime you react: BERSERK 🖤

BeeDee

sadly yeah... solo leveling wasnt really my thing. I watched the first season and it was alright but I didnt like it enough to go back to it, but I know people love it

Kadence

did yall confuse maki for nobara?

nessa

AAAA I need to catch up on jjk with yall omigosh

Pillowcase

The scene where Toji killed Riko (the vessel as Mason Quin called her) was actually in the Hidden Inventory Arc which was the flashback to Gojo’s backstory, not JJK0. I’m assuming that’s why Answer was a little confused there.

Nate

Don't worry about memorizing the culling games rules becomes the specifics don't matter to meanings of the plot. Simply put: the culling game is a ritual made to capture the cursed energy that gets released when sorcerers fight. Kenjaku (Evil Geto) wants to gather this energy to evolve humanity. The usual stuff like characters and motivations are more important than focusing on specific rules. Important rules to know are made very clear as it happens.

Fajar Kurniawan

I can't follow the rules I just let it flow and enjoy the animation 😂

Christian Holler

This is where the journey ends for me. I've been confused for far too long. I don't mind a show being confusing for a few episodes, especially when it's building toward some huge reveal that eventually makes everything click. But this has been going on for so long that I just can't blame it on mystery or clever storytelling anymore. At this point, it simply feels like bad writing. We're three seasons in and I still can't relate to a single character btw. I still hope you guys will have your fun with it

Kadence

respectfully, how are you confused? maybe check it out in dub if you cant keep up with subtitles

FursSirs

Yes. It was the first thing on Yuji's mind when he had the opportunity to ask someone.

FursSirs

Agree. It's not that confusing if you're paying attention to details. There are so many great themes in the writing. But, to each their own.

Grant

The anime/manga aren't particularly well-written from an encompassing plot perspective. Even those who finished the manga will admit this. The manga was mediocre. The anime elevated it to a good show because of the stellar animation and direction. The best parts of JJK are the fights and the cool powers. I also think it's actually quite funny. The plot is nothing special. Just enjoy the spectacle and don't feel like you need to follow along and understand everything perfectly.

Christian Holler

well said @Grant. I agree, I like some of the over the top humor. Maybe I just grew out of the "cool fights with cool powers"... lets call it "phase". Because I realized that most hyped anime these last 5 years just werent doing it for me anymore (JJK, Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer, and especially Solo Leveling). It's probably hard to accept for me because I see all my friends and people on the internet having fun with it, like i did back in the day with Naruto for example. I just cant get that feeling anymore i guess. Fantasy/Adventure/Slice of Life or even Romance have become my new fav. anime. Its still great to see others getting so hyped for certain shows, though I gotta admit, it stings a little to see people get hyped for scenes like in the Shibuya Arc. Like, innocent train passengers getting slaughtered and sutff. I think that's just weird and gruesome haha.

Bruhaps

Yes that was the narrator Quinn in ep 3, the alien looking immortal tengen
