Yay! I’m so excited for this!!! I was like a gremlin sitting at my computer hitting refresh just waiting for the notification lol

I don't remember the last time an episode of this show made me laugh as much as this episode. Feels like old times (I say that as someone who's enjoyed the full series, but I also realize that the humor was a little more hit-and-miss as the original run went on, and I didn't laugh much in the premiere; this one, though, had me absolutely cackling).

Glad to here some of that humor comes back, I haven't watched most of season 3 because the humor started falling off and feeling less organic end of season 2

I adored this episode and I really cried…hard. I appreciated they tackled the ACL injury: it’s much more common in women’s sports than men’s just given basic biology. To answer Mason Quinn’s questions: Keeley brought the idea of a women’s team to Rebecca in the S3 finale, so this is starting from the ground up. Also, I took Alice as being incredibly moved by the installment of the locker room. Ted made sure to give credit to Keeley, so it wasn’t as if Ted (a man) came in and asked.

Getting to the end discussion: I've always related to Oak to a pretty absurd degree, as dudes of around the same age with many, many similar views, but I can say that the style of coaching he noted that he preferred (the in your face style) is definitely not one of those. I was much more of a "I prefer Ted's approach" guy. The one and only time a coach tried to deal with me the other way was my freshman year of high school, and he tried to make me do up downs in the middle of the circle for my basketball team until I started barking like a dog, and I just kept doing them and told him to go fuck himself (it helped that I was the best player on the team so I could get away with it). No coach ever tried that approach with me ever again.

I would love to see your guys reaction to the show Outlander it’s a drama but it’s really good. I truly think you guys would like it! Even if for a trial period of a couple seasons. ❤️

Liked how this felt more like classic Ted Lasso Eps from S1/S2, it's nice seeing everyone again, Ted already winning favour with the Women with a new Locker room & they portrayed Chilton to be this cold, harsh, mission focused person, but we knew that Ted would work his magic charms & cracks are starting to appear in that hard armour she's built up. **THAT** 'Boots' question to Ted after he asked why she don't gloves & your reactions to it gave me such a cheeky giggle. 🤭 I do the exact same thing as Oak said when reading a book, I used to be able to read loads of books when I was younger, but now they just make me sleepy. Looks like it's gonna be another fun time with our favourite footie people this season with you guys. ⚽️ 💚

When I saw the "Foul language!" warning I immediately thought of Roy Kent and gave a "whoop!" I used to work for a sports team so at the very least knew we were getting introduced to the players with that PSA.

I don't know if the depth of this episode got lost in the weeds or if it's just my perspective as a woman in a male-dominated workforce, but I'm bummed that the discussion didn't even really scratch the surface of what this episode is tackling. Rebecca was wildly unlikeable and out of line here. When Alice comes in to speak with Rebecca, she points out that she has had little interaction with Rebecca since she's been there. This is the exact opposite of how Rebecca has worked with the rest of her leadership team. Higgins jokes that Alice has kept them under budget, which is great since even Roy's milk budget is egregious. This seems like a throw away joke, but look at Alice's face and then think about the condition of the women's locker room. They're talking about expensive milk habits for the men's team and the women's has one shower head in a locker room that they share with *children*. Alice talks about how she's worked her whole career for this, but when she asks Rebecca if she even considered her, Rebecca's 'no' is so casual and unbothered. How must that have felt for someone who put her entire LIFE into something to be so easily dismissed and made to feel so inconsequential. The guys said that Alice is a reflection of Roy but really, she's a reflection of Rebecca. In the beginning of season 1, Rebecca was the cold one that everyone was calling a b---. Now it's Alice. And why? She's awkward, she's not vivacious, she rarely smiles. Does that make her a b---? We see that she is highly capable, deeply empathetic, and well-respected by the team, but she's relegated to being unlikeable by people who haven't even tried. And worse? She's busting her butt for the organization and she KNOWS what the people she's killing herself for are calling her. I wouldn't be friendly either. Oak was talking about Rebecca's business acumen, but I actually feel like she's failing. Rebecca isn't the one doing the deep research on how to make the team successful. They went to KC, they were exhilarated by what the saw, but they failed to apply anything that they may have learned. We've seen the proof that the market exists, but they're doing f-all to figure out how to appeal to that fanbase. The men's team is their cash cow while the women's team is openly labeled as a liability. In the bar, Beard mentioned that college players are making more than women's pro athletes. They pulled out all the stops for the men's locker room, but they couldn't be bothered to even try to spruce up where the women were? A largely unused locker room for total strangers was better accommodated than where they had the professional women's athletes. That was the first thing Ted did in season 1. Ted's leadership is the foil to Rebecca's. We see her being performative and self-aggrandizing, but we don't see her take responsibility for her failures. In fact, she hides from them and does everything to prove that she's not the problem, but not once does she ever just try to understand or apologize. Instead, she shows her whole ass by lecturing Alice about how she needs to be more empathetic and less judgmental. As if we haven't watched Alice take it on the chin multiple times this episode, largely by Rebecca. I could write pages about this episode but this is already wayyy too much. I'm interested to see where they go with this.
