Tya

Oh yay!! I will be binge watching these immediately. @Badd Medicine, please react to Maid (2021) next! 8 episodes, nice and easy. One of the best shows Netflix has ever made!

starstrucker

Woah woah slow your roll! Is this a special day or something! THREE EP! CRAZY

Jane

When you guys decide to watch the Odyssey please react to Troy (2004) first, personally I like it way more than the Odyssey but I’m saying it so that you can have the story clear and in chronological order in you head.

n ♡⃛

HOLY SHIT??????? i am so locked in

starstrucker

Hell yeah! Thanks for the meal 😋

Halle

The sock talk🤣🤣🤣

AllyBoo124

Troy is extremely inaccurate though and might be confusing😭 I also love Troy and think it’s a good watch but as preparation for the odyssey it would not be my recommendation

AllyBoo124

Currently always advocating for Mad Men, This Is Us, Scandal, Elite 1-3, and You!!

Cristy

Love your work, fellas!

AllyBoo124

So as a book reader this is one of the few book to screen adaptations I had very very little qualms with. HOWEVER, they completely changed the reason Hannah and Garrett broke up and why it happened which in my opinion made the last two episodes the weakest in this series for me. Hannah is the one who breaks up with Garrett mostly because of some F’d up stuff his father says to her during the thanksgiving episode and some other reasons (it’s been years since I read the books so forgive me my details are not all there). It was a much more believable and understandable break up in my opinion than what they did here. So the last two episodes really started falling flat for me especially for a series I believe started out very strong.

AllyBoo124

Dean and Allie are my favorite book out of the entire series and I was very surprised to get them this early in the series but considering that I felt that Hannah and Garrett’s storyline started to feel weaker to me I really appreciated it because they were definitely a bright spot in this series for me

Laurica

troy is a lot more fictional of the fictional story of the odyssey which might be why you enjoyed it more😭 that’s not good prep they’ve already seen percy jackson season 2 so they’re good tbh

PJ

It’s like Chrimast Eve 😌😌😍🥳🥳❤️

Alondra 🖤

Okay YES! Now I can’t wait to get off work!

Tiara Tyler

Omg!!! I saw the notification and only saw "1x6", it didnt realize yall gave us THREE EPISODES😭 I prayed for times like this!🥹 You guys are truly the best with the amount of work you put out for us! THANK YOU!❤️

Cristy

I'm with you, MQ, can't wait for season 2 and my faves Dean and Allie. That Hunter cliffhanger really was inspired. Your reaction didn't disappoint to that and you realising who do not call was in her phone. What a treat with 3 eps, thanks, guys.

Ellie

The reaction to the "DO NOT CALL" reveal was everything I wanted 😂

r

3 EPS YESSSSSS

C. J. Ramirez

As soon as Garret heard the word “scared “ from Hannah he completely blocked out everything else she was trying to say. He broke up with her to I guess save her from himself cause he already thinks he’s his dad

Amara C

Oak giving Hannah's entire side of the episode 7 argument/break up in the episode 6 review is why I love watching you guys! A lot of reactors watch episode 6 and the beginning of 7 just encourage Garrett to beat Delaney's ass until Hannah gives her reasoning why she didn't want that. Oak already knowing that Hannah may not want that because xyz is amazing. Keep it up Oak!! 💙

Tay

Yesss!!!! Love you guys so much for this!!!🫶🏽🥳

Brieanne

I’m really happy you guys liked this show so much. It was so interesting hearing your opinions and predictions throughout! Looking forward to more Hannah, Garrett and the whole friend group next season!

Mo

YAYYYY three eps!!! thanks guys

Julia

He’s very emotionally intelligent

Ok Heated Rivalry got me here in May/June and I’ve loved all your reactions to movies and Tv shows on here (Bridgerton was amazing to watch with you all)! You’ve all been quite respectful of all the shows and movies you guys react to. My honest question and not judgement is why is it when I’m watching the uncut full reactions, all nudity and sexual explicit stuff is shown except for Heated Rivalry? I find that it wasn’t that explicit, and all we saw was mostly bums, bobbing and thrusting never full frontal, but yet on the uncut reactions, you guys still blurred anything that could be possibly explicit. Just curious what the criteria was for that show compared to all the other shows, including episode eight locker room scene of off campus which, by the way none of those are prosthetics they got men who were willing to show themselves off and it’s not blurred in your videos.Every time I go rewatch your reaction to Heated Rivalry I’m frustrated I have to put a watch along, so I don’t have to see blurred out scenes. Please don’t take offence to the question. I’m just genuinely curious.

bien

ehhh i prefer how the show does it. in the book phil blackmails hannah, threatens to cut garrett off financial. that just feels so dramatic & kdrama lol.

AllyBoo124

I felt like the show Hannah would’ve told Garrett beforehand about Delaney being on the other team nd that their entire conflict and breakup felt weaker to me. Instead of Hannah trying to protect Garrett, I also love a kdrama so maybe that’s why lol. I really liked the show as a whole it just felt weaker to when it came to that part

Yen

Aaaahhh 3 episodes??!! Yaaaaay

Peaches

It was a pleasure watching s1 with you guys, looking forward to s2😌

Badd Medicine

No offense taken. At that time we even had mentioned it in a few comments and other areas as well of why we did it. There are multiple shows that have the blur, not just Heated Rivalry. When we started using streamble it does state that nudity will be an issue and we already push past the boundaries with uncuts. We didn't think it was worth pushing it even further with the multiple shows (and some movies) at that time. Then we started getting into show that had more sexual/nudity scenes. At that time with multiple shows doing that we decided to be a little more cautious. Without knowing what could happen, we then started to not blur the scenes to see what happens and so far nothing which is why none of the shows currently have any blur. Hope this helps.

CorreiaFoxx

Thanks for that information! I appreciate your response. You all weren’t the only ones that have done it too with Heated Rivalry so it was just upsetting that it was being held in a different standard it seemed. They just started filming season 2 this week in Toronto and I can’t wait for you all to see it cause as a book lover and knowing where its going to go, I’m excited to see you guys watch next year. Again thanks

Episode 6 I love how this show continues to lean into the "two truths" from their Philosophy class in different episodes. So often, we can see the points of two different characters. Some people have a problem with Logan reaching out to Phil without telling Garrett. I don't have a problem at all with that. Logan doesn't know the whole story and even if he asked Garrett why he didn't want Phil involved, Garrett wouldn't tell Logan. The donation from Phil will raise a lot of money for kids to play hockey. Garrett didn't have to deal with his father at all, so I say milk the asshole for as much money as they can get. Thank you Oak and Answer about your thoughts on how Allie might be feeling about Dean and why she doesn't want Hannah to know. I didn't fully understand, why Allie didn't want anyone to know, but what you both said makes perfect sense to me. I also feel that Allie is trying to prove that she can be alone. Again, two things can be true at the same time. But Dean appears to be the "more" that Allie was looking for from Sean when they were talking about the sex position calendar and making out in the back of an uber back in the first episode. Dean would be down for all of that and has already done some with Allie. The bathtub scene with the pink "toy" is in the book and the rest of the guys give Dean shit about it. One thing that I appreciate about Dean is that consent is key, as he told Garrett in the weight room. When they first danced together at the costume party, as soon as she wagged her finger "no" he backed away from her. Fun Fact: The actor who plays Dean (Stephen Kalyn) is recently engaged and has been with his fiancee for over 12 years since they were teenagers. In fact, his fiancee is a fan of the books and a fan of Dean and Allie. She thought he would be a good Dean and suggested that he audition for the role.

Karina Souza

You guys are the best. I just love your reactionsssss🥰

Shelby

I can see both sides. However, I think the book really cements home how bad of a guy Garrett's dad is. I feel like the show glosses over a lot and makes him out to be even slightly sympathetic. Which maybe is more realistic to life but I prefer the book route.

AllyBoo124

That too, because I think it also goes into my feelings about that. Like I truly didn’t feel the same hatred for Garrett’s dad and that was bothersome. I think it’s something that wouldn’t bother me as much if I hadn’t read the books

Jaden

Yeah and players get endorsements/money now so Garrett's dad has no control over Garrett's finances so the book break up wouldn't even make sense in the show

Alinta_Energy

The reactions to the ‘ily’ were all so different Oak: Well all right! Quinn: Yeah duh! Answer: OHH MYY GGAAAWWDD!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

AllyBoo124

Yes but like his rent, car payment, phone bill, subscriptions, meal plan or groceries, gas, etc like we don’t know if Garret is doing any brand deals besides the liquid iv and all those monthly expenses add up especially considering he’s used to a certain lifestyle and is still a college student, I don’t think it would’ve been a crazy thing for a college kid to still need his rich dad’s support. And I think it also ties in to I wasn’t crazy about how they handled Phil’s character

Jaden

Imo the show "glossing over" how bad Garrett's dad actually shows just how manipulative and twisted he actually is. We as the audience are only seeing things from Garrett's pov. And that "oh maybe my dad has actually changed" but then we're thrown for a loop when we see/Garrett sees that that is not the case. But yes I have read the books too, so I can see your side.

Jaden

Yeah I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️. I'm really just going off of what the showrunner said in an interview when asked why the breakup was different. She said, "'These books were written over 10 years ago, and now there are new laws where athletes can make money off of their image and likeness, which was not true when Elle wrote the books," she explains. "A big part of the breakup was hinged on Garrett's reliance on [his father] financially, which just doesn't quite track anymore in today's day and age.'"

Tara ✨💫

Episode 7 Did you notice when Dean was sitting in the booth looking at his unanswered text messages that Allie was in his phone as JLo... Oak, I completely respect what you said about doing what the victim wants from their significant other/friend when they find out who hurt them. I thought it was interesting how they did Hannah and Garrett’s argument. Once again, the idea that two truths can exist at the same time. Hannah, in my opinion, was completely valid in being upset because she was afraid that Garrett would blow up his future for her and she didn’t want that and at the same time, Garrett genuinely believed he was defending her. Their feelings are both valid and can be true at the same time, even though it led them to completely different conclusions. Garrett also has his own personal history and trauma messing with his head - he was too little and weak to fight the man who hurt the first woman he loved, and now he's in love with a woman and the man who hurt her is right in front of him, lying about it and insulting her. He lost control of himself and beat the crap out of Delaney without considering the consequences, which again was Hannah's biggest fear coming true. Garrett's biggest fear, as you guys pointed out is becoming his dad and scaring and hurting Hannah. Garrett misunderstood Hannah when she said it scared her that he’d beat the crap out of Delaney 100 out of 100 times for what he did to her because she doesn't want hin to blow up his life and Delaney is not worth it. Now, after speaking with his dad, he believes he has become him, so he did what he thought was right by breaking up with Hannah so that he wouldn’t scare or hurt her. They're having that fight at the worst possible moment, and they are unable to actually hear each other. I don't believe Logan knows that something happened to Hannah. I believe that he understood she was just being careful with open cups at a party and suggested a closed can.

Tara ✨💫

Well, similar to Bridgerton, each book in this series focuses on different characters. Each of these books follows one of the hockey players from the "Off Campus" hockey house. The first book "The Deal" is Garrett's book. There is a book for Logan "The Mistake" with a love interest still to be introduced, a book with Dean and Allie "The Score" as the main characters and then there is one for Tucker "The Goal" The author of this series has also written other books in this universe, so if season two does as well as season one, there is a chance of getting at least 4 seasons and maybe more seasons telling more stories of these characters. I just wish there were more episodes per season. What's interesting is they made the show more of an ensemble. For example, the first book is from Garrett and Hannah's POV and focuses on those two. Garrett talks about his roommates and interacts with them, we meet Hannah's friends and her roommate Allie, but they are just side characters in the book. We don't learn a whole lot about them. I do love that, in Garrett's book, it takes longer for Hannah to agree to tutor him. She wants nothing to do with Garrett, but he's persistant and the sarcastic banter between the two of them is so fun. I really wished they could've included more of that in the show. All of the Allie and Dean stuff from episode 6 doesn't happen in the first book, but it seems like they sprinkled in stuff to get ready for the next season. Season two, as you guys learned during the outro will focus on Dean and Allie's story. They will be the leads, but the showrunners wanted to make sure the leading couple from the previous season didn't just disappear and "live happily ever after" The showrunners saw how Bridgerton has done that and ddn't want to do the same, so we will still get Garrett and Hannah dealing with their own lives and relationship. I believe they will also sprinkle some stuff in for season 3 which will most likely be Logan's season. I just started Logan's book and I also do know that much of the Allie /Dean stuff that we saw in Ep 6 is from their book. The scene of Dean and Allie in the bathtub with the pink "toy" is directly from Dean and Allie's book and the rest of the guys do give Dean shit about it in the book. Another thing that I'm curious about is that Logan's book is the second in the series and Dean's is third, in fact, I believe Allie and Sean are still a couple until the third book, so I don't know why they decided to make season two Dean and Allie's season. Again, I have just started the second book which is Logan's. I started reading the series after watching this season because I was curious about what's in the book versus the show. So basically, I don't know if the other stories are happening concurrently or not. At the beginning of the second book, Logan still has feelings for Hannah, who has been together with Garrett for 6 months, but Logan sees how perfect Hannah and Garrett are for each other. I'll be curious to get to Dean and Allie's book to see where it is in the timeline. Is their story going on at the same time as Logan's... Bookreaders, please don't tell me. I'll find out as I continue reading.

Tara ✨💫

Mason Quinn, to answer your question about who figured out Dean was with Allie before the episode 5 reveal... all of the book readers and quite a lot of first time watchers who saw them dance in episode 2 and saw that Dean was the guy Allie wanted Sean to be. Dean would've been down with the sex calendar and we saw all the different ways < wink, wink> Dean was also someone who supported her dreams at the fire pit which was the first time they ever hung out with each other.

Tara ✨💫

Hi Fellas, I just wanted to say that I really love watching your reactions and especially your thoughts after each episode or movie. I love this show and I loved re-watching it with you and hearing your thoughts over these episodes, but that goes for other reactions too. Thank you so much for your thoughtful insights, I look forward to watching more reaction, but will defintely miss Off Campus, but just know that I will be re-watching this season with you over and over again until Season two comes out.

Tara ✨💫

I just knew that Oak was gonna love the reveal of Garrett standing at his jeep at the end of ep 8 ala Jake Ryan in that classic 80's movie, but I was surprised at Answer's reaction. Boys I was a teenager in the 80's and saw all these movies in the theater. Can I tell you how many teenagers were trying to do the kick as they walked out of the theater after The Karate Kid in 1984, but I digress. Like Oak said, this show is so nostalgic with the 80's themes and I love it SO much. I've lost track of how many times I've watched these 8 episodes by myself, with you, and with other reactors. (Yours are my favorite) Fun Fact: When the show first dropped back in May, Ella Bright (Hannah) had not seen Dirty Dancing. She only saw the few clips from what they showed her watching. I saw an interview during the press tour and she admitted that and that she needed to watch it. I would've loved to see her reaction to the "I carried a watermelon" scene. I hope she has now seen it.

Jeremy Burch

i loved this show, which I originally had no interest in watching but I'm glad I decided to check it out and your reactions to it have been my favorite I've seen so far. I loved your reaction to the "Do Not Call" reveal. After watching your reactions to these episodes, I feel like I've got to recommend two things, first after episode 6, I have to recommend Legally Blonde: The Musical, I guess I should check if it's on the website and second, Sterling Point, it's not quite the same in tone but like Off Campus took romance tropes and typical stories and made them more interesting with characters that felt real, Sterling Point takes coming of age tropes and typical stories and makes them more interesting with characters that feel real. I look forward to season 2.

Amy Allen is a big big pop songwriter ! She's written with Sabrina Carpenter, FLO, Halsey, Tate McRae, Harry Styles etc. She's very well known & a great songwriter :)

Question: Do you think Garrett should out his dad as an abuser? I saw a reactor say that they would if they were Garrett. I'm curious who else would knowing what that would be like for the rest of Garrett's life. Is it worth it to blow up Phil's reputation?

Eboe Thrasher

I've never read the books, but I absolutely fucking DESPISED Phil Graham in this show. I never had a question as to Garrett's ability to be fiscally secure. He was probably on a full ride, and they probably get meal packages with that, and in modern schools that can translate to a dollar amount being loaded on a card and those cards are usually accepted at more places than just the school restaurants. Here in Columbus they have the Buck-ID and it is accepted at many places in the campus area. I don't know if buying the meal plan means you get a dollar amount loaded on it but I could see that being the case at other schools. And even with a full ride, he could still take out loans to make sure he was financially independent from his dad. He could also be getting guilt money from his dad, or he could have gotten a chunk of money from a life insurance policy from his mom. Maybe they had a trust fund for him for college that he can now use on top of his scholarship. All great reasons as to why Phil would not be paying his day-to-day. And the boys seem to be part of a frat, though that doesn't seem like a frat house, it would be much bigger. Rent and bills would be pretty low.

Eboe Thrasher

Every season means more time Tucker's actor has to be away from The Pitt so that kinda sucks for me, luckily I like this show too.

Morgan Blaney

Its like Bridgerton, every season is focused on a different team member

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

About ep 6: Your reaction to the “DO NOT CALL” reveal at 06:36 was top-tier! And the reaction on bath scene with the vibrator was priceless! Your excitement when Hannah and Garrett said “I love you” was so relatable! 🥹

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

The whole episode 7 was so tough! I cried watching Hannah talk to her mum on the phone. It was heartbreaking to see her blame herself for everything even though she is a victim. But Hannah’s mum deserves a standing ovation for how she handled that conversation! She calmed her down so impressively. And Hannah and Garrett’s breakup — I didn’t expect that to happen because Garrett was scared that he would hurt Hannah the way his mother had hurt him and Cindy. I loved your post-discussion of this specific episode the most! Oak looked so haggard and emotionally burdened. His expression said so much even before he started putting his thoughts into words! It’s a really delicate theme to discuss, but you all nail it!

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

Ep 8 Answer’s reaction at 05:33 when the dicks showed up on the screen had me dying laughing! 🤣 And then by the end Answer clocked Hunter Davenport before it was revealed — great job! I didn’t see it coming when I watched the show by myself for the first time. Overall, I’m so glad you’re enjoying this show far more than I expected. This reaction reminded me of your Bridgerton reactions. Who knew middle-aged jocks and sportsmen would be so into romance stories? It’s such a bliss for us, your female audience! “It’s a little awkward, because I’m 46 now and I’m watching this show about 20-year-olds and I’m so invested.” — I don’t think there’s anything to be embarrassed about, Oak! People need to be more open-minded about what other people can watch or read regardless of their age!

Julie

I loved this show the writing was outstanding it was written by Gen X, produced by millennials good job. I can’t wait for season two. The books are really good , so I can’t wait to see how things are going to work out.

Gina Kern

I’m still OBSESSED with this show 2 months later. And I’m so glad I was able to watch the show and your reactions at the same time. 2027 can’t wait…

L.S

Hunter Davenport and that whole twist was absolutely phenomenal. You can tell Dean fell for Al quite seriously, when she tells him you see the actor portray actual heart break in the eyes!! SIKED for season two! 🎉

Mkay Long

No Logan isn't going to get between Hannah and Garrett because he wants both of them Happy but it doesn't stop him from pining that's why he missed not only Garrett's signals in the cafeteria scene to back off about his Dad but Hannah's too because she very clearly repeatedly redirects that conversation when it becomes too Phil focused and Logan is so busy mooning over Hannah he doesn't pay attention to the deeper of what she's doing

Pat Mc

Episode 6 - an Easter egg drop at the fundraiser. The final prize was won by Grace Ivers. Remember that name for Season 2! 😁 Also, Dean’s sister Summer will be introduced in season 2. Yay!

anyone notice when hannahs eating the hot cheetos, its not the flaming hot ones lol.
