A - list voice actors.... The Firelord voice is often overlooked for being Mark Hamill. The Prince Zuko story line over the three seasons is probably my favorite and this episode really gives the good initial back story.

Miss_CJ

I've always found interesting to see the relationship between Prince Zuko and his Uncle. Even if they are the antagonists they are still likable and there are still valuable lessons to learn, character development and deeper meaning behind their actions. Learning about Zuko's past really helps understand his obsession with the Avatar; to regain his honor. The fact that Aang can bring hope even to Zuko in some way is very fascinating.

Do Not Talk About Fight Club

What did you guys think of the Zuko storyline? I think the series does such a good job of making sure he's not just the mustache- twirling bad guy. The reason he is trying to capture the Avatar isn't that he hates peace. But because at the end of the day all he really wants is "Family" and his home. Yet because his own father is the one that burnt his face and exiled him from his home and family. There is a complexity to his motives compared to just I must capture the Avatar....just because. It's also cool because both Aang and Zuko are two kids that lost everything they knew and are searching to gain a version of it back.

We are starting to see that Aang and Zuko are just two sides of the same coin.

oak really doesnt seem to be enjoying himself, thats a shame

Badd Medicine

Sorry you feel that way, but he is actually enjoying it. If this is your first time watching Oak?

Sam Harris

my first time watching the full reactions, perhaps its just cause im used to the cut versions on youtube, but im glad to hear he is.

Graham F

Yeah as someone who has watched almost all the full reactions haha Oak is just very invested, and if he doesn't like something then it is usually verbally conveyed. (from what I can tell) Anyways I love the Avatar reactions!

Graham F

Since this is an animation, do you think Kung Fu Panda or How to train your dragon will be on a poll for a animated trilogy watch? I know those two are highly regarded.

Badd Medicine

You can definitely bank on both happening. HTTYD we are looking at potentially in January? Can't confirm just yet. 😁🤙

Episode 12 is always a very good episode. You slowly get introduced to the the deeper stories in this show. Im actually suprised you guys didnt mention Zuko's backstory. Its a pretty big deal. Some people call episode 11 'the only filler episode in Avatar'. But i actually disagree and im glad you saw why they made that episode. These are small things Aang has to learn as the Avatar.

Fun fact: The Great Divide is considered by many to be the worst Avatar episode, yet it’s still a well-written episode proving just how good this show is.

I have watched this series easily over 50+ times and re-watching this episode I am once again am reminded that this is definitely not a kid show. When I was watching Aang playing with all his old friends and I realized that all those poor airbenders were murdered by fire benders. Even poor Jinju never stood a chance. And the literal child abuse the the Fire Lord did to his own son. Even then Zuko still wanted to make his father proud. This show never ceases to amaze me with it's deeper meanings and I am beyond ready, willing, and able to continue this journey with you guys!

Zhao is voiced by the Actor of Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter

Ginger

I don’t know if you guys have watched Star Trek or are into it, but the voice of the leader of the people wearing white robes in The Great Divide was done by Rene Auberjonois who played Odo in Deep Space Nine. 😎

Angelina

This has always been one of my favorite episodes. Such a joy to re-watch it with y’all. Glad the excitement for it is picking up! Let’s bend some air 💨 😆

Eric Wallace

Great divide is the only filler in the series

rachele

Lmao yes we need an outtakes video one day please

Sam Harris

good to know. im actually hard of hearing so i struggle with oaks being soft spoken, thats my problem not oaks obviously :D

Marissa

All the first benders in this show were animals so appa is bending air when he flies like ang does with his glider

Eric Wallace

I'm really surprised by the lack of commentary on Zukos story.

Manny D.

I like them but they don’t really give commentary or discussion much at all. I hope that changes in the future. It’ll elevate their channel to do in-depth discussions more regularly

Cherrie

You guys didn't have any thoughts on what Prince Zuko went through?

Ashley Faith

Thank you! Another react channel actually skipped it b/c ppl told them to, I was like WHAT?! make up your own mind

Cherrie

Please react to Japanese Anime - Naruto and Attack on Titan. These are the best of the best!

Christopher Wichman

Just to shine some light on the cruelty of Zuko's father. When he scarred Zuko he purposely held back enough to not blind the eye, so that Zuko would still be able to see everyone staring at him.

Also Aang very nonchalantly mentions how he came up with his air scooter trick to the other young Air Nomads. This really means alot more. Notice none of the kids but Aang have their tattoos, the Nomads only earn their ink after having mastered air bending. In order to be accepted as a master you need to create your own air bending technique. Therefore Aang became a master airbender when he invented his Air Scooter at a very young age.
