Wow.... another emotional, well done episode! There hasn't been any bad ones yet. Ellie and Sam were the heart of this episode. And.... that action scene.... WOW!!! And then that ending... WOW! This episode was one hell of a roller coaster ride.

What was your reaction?

What a gift. You said Saturday but delivered tonight.

I have played that game over and over…and EVERY! SINGLE! TIME! The whole Sam and Henry story hits the end I cry. That broken look in his eyes, knowing he had no choice but knowing it was his baby brother…😭😭😭😭

stephanie

the infected coming out the ground was a jumpscare lol!!

Lifehouse

WHAT A REACTION! :-D hell yeah bro's

Jorreca

It's really one thing to play the game and then to watch it. TLOU needs to fund my tissue supply soon or they're getting cancelled cause I'M SO TIRED OF CRYING EVERY EPISODE!!! Thanks for the early drop, great time doing a watch along as always with you guys.

literally lmao, like forget the bloater- that kid was scary as hell 😭

If you notice i think Joel gained edge not lost it. Show makes a big point joel can't shoot ep1-3 and this episode as soon as ellie is in trouble he becomes a Sniper.. I thought the show... showed that well

Itss_NattyJ

I've gotten misty-eyed during episodes 1-4, but I loudly bawled my eyes out during this episode, and I knew what was coming. Such a great job with the drama and the action.

NS

I was surprised they didn't check for bites as soon as it was safe. I've never played the game and I close my eyes when infected are on screen, but I enjoy you guys so much I have to watch along LOL

Love10 ❤️

The writing ✍️ on this show is just..... TEARS 😢 😢 HURT!!!!!!

This hit me harder than the game. In the game Henry is nearer Ellie's age, here he's just a baby and the actor really got me attached to his sweetness. 😭 And I liked Sam's reaction to the shooting better here than in the game, the shock in his voice and eyes felt so authentic, superb acting. I also really love the reveal that Kathleen's brother wasn't a monster but instead a really good man who didn't deserve to die. It puts an interesting nuance on Kathleen's crazy.

Jeff K

It really is such an interesting take on the situation, because let's reframe it in a different way: look at the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, as an example. FEDRA were monsters in KC, and the Nazis were obviously monsters. They had people collaborating with them to take care of themselves and their families. But if the Jewish people in Warsaw had successfully overthrown the Nazis and taken back Warsaw, they would absolutely not be the bad guys. The people who collaborated with the Nazis, like the people who collaborated with FEDRA, might not be straight up bad but using that example, if you were part of the Jewish resistance, how forgiving would you be to the people who aided the Nazis to keep themselves safe? It's obviously not a 1-to-1 comparison, but given the horrendous things FEDRA was doing to the people of KC, it's not that far off. In those terms, Kathleen would rightly be considered a heroic figure.

Your reactions to the bloater coming out was the same reaction I had when I first encountered one in the gameplayed the game. Henry and Sam will always get to me whenever I play the game and it felt horrible to see that happen even if I knew it was coming

DeadmanJAX

this whole story is great...could be more game related but I can deal

I'm hoping we can get some allies that can stick around for more than episode. It seemed too good to be true at the end when they made it back safe. Was waiting for the gut punch and it definitely hit like a truck. Other than that, I’m glad to have seen trust between Ellie and Joel grow even more! Great reaction fellas! Looking forward to the next one!

such a good episode. do you guys watch the interviews with the directors and actors at the end of each episode?

TwiZZteD

Nah man I don't think I've ever teared up on any show until this episode right here. When he DID THAT i just couldn't hold them back. The story telling in this show is on a whole other level Honestly..

it’s not the preview for the next week though. they just discuss the episode they just watched. no spoilers for the upcoming week

i agree with this, though to be fair, i don’t think joel was a bad shot in ep 4 either. he was firing off distraction shots to keep “the people” from looking at ellie as she crawled the safety. the second she was behind that wall, he actually aimed. he takes em out when it counts 😂

Shirlene Wright

I understand Kathleen's anger. She was so completely single minded. Seems like she took her whole army to capture 2 adults and 2 kids. Meanwhile last episode the ground within the city limits is moving... and she focuses on Henry and revenge. Not sure what they could have done about that. But I think putting it on "the back burner" was not a good call. Great Episode. Thank You.

You guys are amazing reactors. You pick up on so many subtleties and nuances, it's fantastic. So much fun watching you react to this. You guys just GET it.
