Loved this reaction so so much, I've been waiting for ep 6 for ages and ow i'm sad it's over 🥲 but don't worry guys! Still so much more to come and many a laugh to be had :D

rachele

the way Avatar Roku's animal guide, Fang, curls up around Roku to protect him and they die together 😭😭😢😢😫 my heart, it hurts.

The beach ep. is one of the best because of two things. One: the Noble Crew were actually pretty lit as a friend group (fight me on that). Two: it showed how much Azula actually cared for her brother. Before you were always wondering when the other shoe would drop when it came to Azula, but this ep. solidified my opinion that Azula actually missed Zuko and enjoyed spending time with him again.

Episode 6 is one of my absolute favorite episodes! This was a treat! I also love the little moment at the end where Toph asks if friendships can transcend lifetimes in a way that's sort of sad/hopeful, as if she's reflecting on the fact that some of them will be gone some day. It's a rare little moment of affection from her and it's so sweet!

Zuko hired the assassin. There was a scene of him telling the assassin that the Avatar was alive and to kill him at the end of B3E2, the headband.

Two of my favorite episodes here, a lot of character development and back story. This episode gave me so much respect for Roku, some people give him flack but the man was compassionate, temperate, and resolute. He could have taken Sozin out in that moment but he showed honor and restraint. I didn't take his restraint as passivity either, he boldly and strongly confronted him only sparing his life, that's why Sozin didn't pull anything until that unfortunate opportunity arose decades later. Ruko may be my #1 Avatar Aang is a close 2nd.

Great reaction, y’all!! Episode 6 was one of my fav episodes 🔥 Also fun hearing Ron Perlman as Firelord Sozin again 😆

Ginger

Answer said Tai Lie was Zuko’s girlfriend but she is the acrobat. Mai is the gf. 🙂

Nate Terry

No one mentioned that Firelord Sozin elder was voiced by Ron Perlman....

One thought I had watching The Avatar and The Fire Lord this time is that I think Roku should have given up fighting the volcano. At that point all the homes had been destroyed and everyone was off the island, so better to just let the volcano run its course and resettle somewhere else with your people. I’m not sure I understand Roku’s need to keep trying to stop it.

Will

I also had this issues but it was fixed after I paused it

"Friendships can last more than one lifetime." And we just watched an episode about the friendship between the Avatar and The Firelord.

Jonathan Gonzalez

I believe it was the best of 2022 video where Dave mentioned you guys were going to watch invincible and i literally yelled, "F**k yes!" scaring my fiance. i am so excited for when you guys to watch it.

Luke Dornburgh

Very interesting thing in the scene between Zuko and Iroh is that the camera angle makes it look like zuko is the one behind bars and Iroh is on the outside . Symbolic to their mental freedom.

Ivan Rasmussen

You could imagine how difficult it would be for Roku to stand up to his lifelong best friend. It just shows how strong his morals were and I love seeing what went down to lead to this war. Great stuff guys!

NS

Apparently beach episodes are a tradition of sorts in anime. That's what I heard anyway

Bandit

When Roku talked about how he had to learn earth bending, he described it as "bitter work" which is a small pun because it's the name of the episode where Aang was going through his struggles in learning earth bending with Toph

From what I can see, initially the volcano hadn't destroyed all the homes. First he made the wall, and then the two trenches, and at that point the village was still untouched. Then he went into the avatar state to punch a hole on the other side to prevent the overflow, still saving the village. Once the second volcano boiled over, that's when Sozin came to help and I think they were managing it well, but the fumes became too much which is when they started running away. I think up until that point, the village was still fine. I could be wrong though.

I think the idea behind them going back to trash the party is that despite them having their therapy session on the beach and everything, they still don't know how to cope with those new feelings. I think the outlet they get from destroying things and "conquering" weaker people is what really helped seal all that progress in. That's how they've been taught to deal with things in the fire nation.

Chimpman

Wouldn't exactly call that a "pun" lol. It's really just a callback.
