EARLY ACCESS: Extraction FULL REACTION (Patreon)

Led by the charismatic Chris Hemsworth in the role of Tyler Rake, the film delivers a visual spectacle packed with intense fight sequences, breathtaking stunts, and an emotional core that elevates it beyond a typical action flick. The movie centers around Tyler Rake, a black-market mercenary with a tragic past, who is hired to rescue Ovi Mahajan (played by Rudhraksh Jaiswal), the young son of an imprisoned Indian drug lord. Set in the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Extraction takes us on a treacherous journey through a grim underworld filled with ruthless criminals, corrupt officials, and a powerful drug cartel.

One of the film's greatest strengths lies in its action sequences, which are expertly choreographed and visually captivating. The highlight is undoubtedly a jaw-dropping 12-minute long-take action sequence, awesomely executed which made it one of the best things about the film. The chemistry between Hemsworth and Rudhraksh Jaiswal's Ovi is surprisingly moving, as they form an unlikely bond amidst the chaos, giving the film an emotional core that resonates with the audience.

Extraction benefits from its gritty and atmospheric cinematography, capturing the dark and dangerous underbelly of Dhaka with stunning visuals. The city itself becomes a character, enhancing the tension and adding a sense of authenticity to the narrative. The pulsating score by Henry Jackman complements the action sequences. The plot, although engaging, is fairly straightforward and lacks some of the intricacies that could have added more layers to the narrative. That's a nit pick on our end. We still would highly recommend this film. Can't wait to see Extraction 2.
