Yeah this episode and what follows rips my heart in two. She's spent her whole life wanting to be the avatar, built her identity around it, and now she's paralyzed and has to watch as her mentor basically tells her that the world will get by just fine without her, and the one who will help do that is Jinora, who looks exactly like Aang, whose shadow she's always been in. It's really heartbreaking to see her torn down. Also, Mako could always lightning bend, he earns money in S1 by lightning bending at a powerplant.

No big deal but we did see Mako use lightning alot in Book 1 but his ability to do kinda fell off the radar for a while

I‘ve been waiting so long to see you guys react to this episode, since it‘s my favorite episode in the whole series, and it was a lot of fun to see your guys reaction to this!! I always loved how bittersweet this ending for the season was, just the contrast of Jinorra getting her master tattoos and basically being at the height of her life, to Korra being at the absolute opposite point in hers never fails to move me to tears when I watch it

One of my favorite episode! Beautiful as ever! Always makes me cry. Side note, when we are introduced to Mako he uses his lightning for work as a side gig to get money in a factory in Book 1.
