Jim Carrey's portrayal of the Grinch is nothing short of spectacular. From his exaggerated facial expressions to his physical comedy, Carrey brings a unique energy to the character, making the Grinch both comically villainous and strangely endearing. His ability to blend humor with a touch of pathos adds depth to a character traditionally seen as purely mischievous.

The film's set design and costumes are a feast for the eyes, bringing Whoville to vibrant life. The whimsical, colorful world created by the filmmakers mirrors the distinctive illustrations of Dr. Seuss, immersing the audience in a fantastical holiday landscape. The makeup and prosthetics used to transform Carrey into the Grinch are a testament to the film's commitment to visual excellence.

The supporting cast, including Taylor Momsen as Cindy Lou Who and Jeffrey Tambor as the Mayor, complements Carrey's over-the-top performance. Cindy Lou's innocent curiosity and the Mayor's self-serving antics provide a balanced backdrop to the Grinch's antics. The film's humor caters to both children and adults, with Carrey's physical comedy and witty dialogue delivering laughs on multiple levels. The comedic timing and improvisational skills that Carrey brings to the role elevate the film beyond a mere children's holiday movie.

I love this movie! This and the og animated film (plus Home Alone 1&2) are my annual Christmas movie watch. I was about to watch it until you dropped the trailer for this month and I saw this was on it. I waited!

Sarah

One thing that always boggles my mind is the IMDb and the tomatoes score for this classic, Great reaction guys 🤙.

This is a Christmas staple for me watch it every single year along with Santa Claus and the muppet’s Christmas carol, happy to watch it with you guys this year great reaction 😁

Wulfbaine

I know right! I was shocked when I read the first time watch was ALL hahah I thought it was law to watch the grinch at Christmas time 😆

Unholy Tater

Been a long time since I last watched this. Just finished the reaction and that was really fun. A real classic. Lots of jokes for the adults that I didn't remember being in! Nice deathly hallows tree, Oak!

Bri

I'm so excited for y'all to see this! This is one of those Christmas movies I watch every year! They used to play it when I was in school too lol.

Bri

Hahah same!! I've been ready to watch this all month!

Samuel Bruce

Taylor Momsen is the lead singer for a pretty successful band The Pretty Reckless! Pretty cool career for her

Cody Book

That scene where the grinch yanked the table cloth off was improv in the end. Jim Carrey was supposed to rip off the cloth sending everything flying and was surprised that he did it without anything falling off so he decided just to go back and knock everything off instead.

Ron Banks

Imagine if Jim Carey and Robin Williams had made a movie together. That'd be the most real-life cartoon movie ever made.

Monica Marquez

Just so you know, they did do another remake recently. It’s Dreamworks I believe. Benedict Cumberbatch voicing the Grinch.

Katie

This is one of the christmas movies i watch every year. Surprised none of you have seen it. Fun fact, Max was played by six different dogs and all were rescued from shelters.

Fabulous reaction guys, I'm thrilled you enjoyed it so much! If I may make a late Christmas Movie suggestion, Arthur Christmas. It's on Amazon Prime right now. I think you guys would absolutely love it, especially Oak. It's super underrated sometimes, but it's root is lessons about family dynamics, stages of life, goals, aging, and being yourself even when others don't make you feel like it's enough. Don't get me wrong, it's still a goofy kids movie, but it's really adorable and subtle about how it's lessons play out. It's become not just my favorite Christmas movie, but my favorite movie period. If I'm having a bad day I'll put it on to reorient myself and lift my mood. It's crazy how they manage to capture that serene/stillness feeling that comes with Christmas e Eve late at night.

Angelina

This was fantastic 🤣 One of my fav Christmas movies and watching with y’all was so much fun haha

My dad worked in a certain "law enforcement agency".. and he had hundreds of copied VHS movies when I was a kid. I remember as a punk teen I told him I was gonna report him. He said it's only illegal if you try to profit off the copies.. That makes sense.. my entire childhood I thought we were being sneaky.. Cindy Lou now the lead singer of metal band "The Pretty Reckless".

Chantelle Nelson

That part where Jim Carrey (Grinch) pulled the tablecloth, but nothing came off the table was actually non-scripted just as you guys had mentioned in your reaction. Apparently all the items on the table were supposed to fly off when he pulled the tablecloth, but when he pulled and NOTHING came off, Jim simply went back to the table and hit everything off and they kept that in the film!

Eryn Young

You guys should watch KLAUS!

Spice Light

This movie is ok, but the newer animated Grinch movie with Benedict Cumberbatch is the best in my opinion. It’s definitely more kid friendly.

Marco Gutierrez

Like you guys, I'd never seen it. To me I always felt like it was just a bit too irreverent so I never wanted to watch it. Christmas is really huge to me even though I don't get to celebrate as much as I'd like, so I'm not too into the parody or irreverent Christmas stuff. I'm fine with comedy, as long as it has plenty of heart too which I thought this one definitely did. As for the song at the end, yeah that one was in the original. It's the song that the Grinch hates because it's basically the Christmas theme song for the Whos. It plays at the beginning which is one of the things that angers him and it plays at the end and hearing it makes him realize that he was in the wrong. Having them include it in the movie was great and I think it would have felt wrong to not have it in there.

Griffin

Cindy Lou Who grew up to be a Rockstar. Look up "The Pretty Reckless - Heaven Knows"
