An early draft of this page started with Lydia already scooped up in Halver's arms and them exclaiming how great it was to be together in person. But I didn't get very far in that version because I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that I had rushed an important moment.

I was proud of how the page where Switch and Casey reunited turned out. And I think a big part of that was because I didn't just jump to the hug. I instead put emphasis on them seeing each other for the first time. And I think that's an important piece of the presentation here.

I do my best to keep TRW pages punchy, content-wise. But I also try to think in terms of somebody who might read the whole thing all in one sitting someday. Having slower moments like this will pay off in the long term. That's the aim, anyway.

Your instincts were right, this page is great!

Squid Hills

Two things: Firstly, your instincts about slowing the pace down and not rushing the hug were the correct ones. This page works beautifully and doing it differently would ruin it. Secondly, ohmygodLydia's HAIR! That is the best hair you've ever drawn, and all your girls must have that hairstyle from now on. Kayden, too.

Jon

This was a very sweet page and i love it

Washington State with amorous squirrels would be a very very scary place.

To add to the chorus of voices: you definitely made the right call slowing down. And honestly I think you could do that more often in the comic without any issues whatsoever. Especially now that we've seen so much of these characters over the years. Giving us a chance to slow down and just appreciate something like this really love, dialogue free page is a major treat.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY long black hair! The best kind of hair! Lydia indeed looks very gorgeous, here- the long, strong nose isn't to everyone's type, but I find it to be a beautiful feature and really makes some women look statuesque and striking. The frilly blue dress is really cool and I'm curious where you got the idea. Seems like she's going out of here way to be attractive for Halver, and will immediately begin to try pressuring him into being her boyfriend. Interesting that she's immediately hugging him after mostly being angry at him during almost all their prior interactions (once shooing him away by suggesting they have intercourse). Only her tears as he "left" indicated her deeper feelings.

An interestingly rare page with no diolauge, but it works really well. Glad to see thease two meet up in person

Oh wow, this looks GREAT. Not JUST because Lydia looks amazing

.

Awwww

eF..cz

I think it is great. Absence of text highlighted the suspense. And The Squirrrel is a nice touch.

Merjia

God she’s so beautiful. This is such a lovely moment.

This version is much better than your draft; you’re telling a visual story here, without words, and means so much more than just telling the plot in words; it’s not a podcast LoL. Great job here! I love the anticipation! Nice work here!

Slaughterbug

I didn't even notice the little guy at first, but yeah. Nice touch

It's the eyes, Reinbach. That you focused in on them and gave Lydia and Halver that connection, made sure to give their looks such emotion, and then reflected it in that one moment just holding hands and gazing? That pause was perfect. Spoke volumes. Made the hug in the last panel a total payoff. Your audience can *feel* that hug.

Making it slow like you did with Casey and Switch was the right choice. Despite this being a book where we want nothing but sex and hot women, it makes it worth more when you get romantic moments like this. Makes the sex mean more when we care for the characters and feel what they feel. So good job on another stellar page. And hey, It's not called This Romantic World for nothing ;)

NKL

As much as Lydia is happy to see him now, I have the feeling she'll be even happier later :)

Andris'Shadow

This is kinda really fuckin' cute, I'm not gonna lie

Reinbach

Thanks! I agree that with a title like that, this kind of thing should pop up every so often. XD

Reinbach

That's great to hear, thank you!

Reinbach

Thanks! Beautiful was the aim. I went full Disney princess here. XD

Reinbach

Thanks! I thought about having a plane flying by with heart eyes too. But decided that "inanimate objects" might be pushing the gag too far. XD

Reinbach

Well I was picturing that she's so grateful/charmed/turned on by the fact that he kept his promise to come back to her that all else was instantly forgiven. XD

Reinbach

Hey thanks! Good to know I can be free to slow the pace when I feel it's warranted. :)

Reinbach

Hey glad you like the look! Maybe I'll try to work in some more wavy styles when I can. :)
