Hello!

Welcome to But, That's Not My Point!

Today's podcast is delivered in a strange tone with an ongoing stream of self-discovery, and incessant questions asked of no one in particular (but do feel free to answer if you like!)

Thanks for listening.

You're so funny. I'm the exact opposite. To each her own, right? I live near a town of 24,000. They do have coffee shops, and lots of restaurants, but no Indian food restaurants. I make it myself from the ingredients I can find, and also one of my best friends was born in Malaysia, grew up in Kerala and is really great cook, so now and then he'll make a meal for us. I cook for him too, and I have a bottle of his hot sauce in my fridge because he needs it for absolutely any dish. But, I love waking up to birds and no other sounds. We have a tiny farm, and some woods and I love it so much. I especially love that there are no traffic jams and the nearest traffic light is 10 miles from my house. And I love your blog and the diversity of tastes, city people vs. country. I was born in a big city but I've been trying to get peace and nature ever since.

Movies are about 2.5 hours long. A super long movie is 3 hours or more. A shortish movie is 1.5 hours.

I have a theory about where the middle people are: they all have small kids and are mostly married and monogamous and when you have kids you can't really date. The 22 year olds aren't married and don't have kids. The 50+ group is divorced and their kids are older and more independent so the want to date again. On average, of course, not every single person. I hope I'm not bugging you by writing so much but I'm awake and I have coffee and everyone else here is asleep and your conversational style makes me want to write back.

I am so glad it makes you want to write back! Half the time when I am recording I am so disappointed there isn’t someone speaking back to me instantly. This way I get my questions answered. Thank you for informing me about the duration of movies too, that was helpful.

Relating hard to your friend with the hot sauce, I’m curating a collection and so is my husband, who is also from Kerala!

I, too, hate chirping birds. I believe this is one reason God created cats. Seriously. And I LOVE city noises, to an extent. I need a medium semi-constant roar. Load, sudden noises startle me and put me into survival mode.

(I wanted that key to make a new line. sigh) I'm tired of listening too, but now I am paid to listen and facilitate therapy groups. I'm going to need to reconcile that. I think we're all tired. This pandemic has drained so much of our energy. We are all grieving - the way of life we have lost, the loss of the illusion that others care, the loss of life from the virus and its effects, the loss of a feeling of safety and sufficiency, the loss of previous freedoms (from germophobia, for one). Grief is draining. I need sleep. I need catharthsis. I need a kinky day, a whole freaking day. And I need this freakin cat to stop circling me! (We have 2)

Love your cats for me please, I really miss mine, I haven't seen them in 20-days.

"All I want is to really just fuck people" and all the things you say afterwards are very relatable!
