Boudoir Bedtime Stories (Patreon)

Hello! I hope you're having a good evening tonight. I currently have some cozy scented candles lit around my apartment with the A/C lightly blowing; it's safe to say autumn has made it to Georgia. The air smelled so refreshing and so...October...today. How about where you are?
I thought these photos fit the mood I'm feeling pretty accurately right now. There's still a few sets from this session back in January that I haven't gotten around to sharing yet. I loved this session. It was a great first shoot of the year! Crazy to think that 2023 is just around the corner...
Every time I have a slightly different hair style in a project, I feel the need to try and change it up more. I really like how the loose braids are here and how they work with the scene; it feels like a soft evening scene from a hundred years ago to me, somewhere in a quiet house surrounded by books. If you don't recall (I mentioned it in a previous post from this session) the books we used here were absolutely ancient. I'd have to go back to that post to remember how old exactly, but I don't feel very far off to say early 1900s or maybe even 1850s. They were so delicate to the touch. I was afraid to damage them! I need to snag some old books from the local vintage shops around here. They're such good props for shoots. And oil lamps! Can you believe that was an actual oil lamp? Not that crazy, but I don't think I'd really used a non-electronic one before. So cool. Mildly dangerous if you have cats though I guess, haha.
Any particular bedtime stories you enjoyed as a kid? Do you read at all before bed now? My mom does all the time. I need to start reading more consistently again... sigh. I have a shelf full and I've read maybe half! Maybe.
I hope the rest of your week goes well. I'm off to Tennessee tomorrow for a fun group shoot! Stay tuned!
