I was hoping for something subtle to change. Like being stuck in Groundhogs Day, and changing one thing stops the repetition. You could also throw in a few random "Wait. Have we done this before?" lines. Or maybe Data keeps encountering the number 3. I don't know. Just spit-balling here.
