I used to counter scam email scammers. Not in the sense of actually taking anything from them, but it’s easy to waste their time and mess with them.

I had a couple of guys try the speaker scam on me in London. I just smiled and told them I was from the US and they drove off.

So my favorite scam attempt was an email I was sent by this person who spent several paragraphs detailing how (I'll assume) he had gotten hold of a password and was able to hack into my PC and see all the porn I was watching. He also noted liking my taste. And he was able to clone my screen, AS WELL AS, to into my webcam and record my private time. With all this they planned to shake me down, saying they'll release the videos of me to all my friends on Facebook, if I don't pay them an amount of money. Funny thing is, most of my friends have seen me naked, and a few have seen more, at BDSM parties. I'm probably the worst mark this person could have targeted- I don't have very much in the way of shame with my body. But, and this is the icing on the cake--- I don't have webcam hooked up!

Very similar to what happened to me. He had a years-out of date password that I don't use anymore and said that he watched me through my webcam. Which I never had. He must have gotten my old password from some ste I was at years ago. I ignored him and nothing happened
