It's not even April fools yet,why is this happening to me? I was so excited when I saw an eposide topic I knew about. But then you said Willis, not Wills, why do you hate me guys?

Brady orr

Why are you still saying Willis? Please stop.

Brendan H.

Owwww! It hurts my ears. Sorry guys you're going to have to rerecord this one.... Maybe publish a transcript.

Kurt Montandon

They said "16 wheeler" the entire time during the GAMcast review of "Over the Top" with Stallone. *That* was painful.

Oxford Comma is Mandatory

It's ridiculous how many times humans have to re-learn the same lesson over and over again.

Kathryn Mannion

My ears are bleeding!! I love your work but the pronunciation of WILLS, Menindee, Carpentaria are KILLING me.

Shaun Maher

Excellent episode, but... Gentlehumans, serious offer, next time you're doing an Australian themed episode, I'm absolutely happy serve as a pronunciation guide.

Brendan H.

Maybe part of why it's generally referred to as the Burke and Wills expedition.

Niamh Coghlan

Here's hoping the mispronunciation becomes an awesome skit hook next week.

You should do an episode on Batavia (1628 ship) the ship went off course and was shipwrecked on a chain of small islands off the coast of western Australia. Where one of the bloodiest mutiny’s in history was started by psychopathic failed apothecary named Jeronimus Cornelisz, who had unattainable dreams of setting up a personal kingdom in the islands and that God himself inspired all of his deeds. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batavia_(1628_ship)

I get it now. This one finally made it sink in they’re not really experts at these things. They’ve literally read one Wikipedia article and apparently only one of them at that, and the rest copied down the same typo. I admit it made me second guess myself though and I googled to confirm I wasnt misremembering one of the names... 5/5 stars would listen to them butcher Australian history again

Absolutely LOVING all the irate Aussies upset that one group of cheerful incompetents is mispronouncing the name of another, way more dead, incompetent.

Andrew Lindsay

What you talkin’’bout Willis?!!!?

Chris Kelly

Only just listened to this ep. Love it. I was listening to it as I worked just outside of Ballarat (Victoria) drilling for gold. Ballarat was the epicentre of the Aussie gold rush and briefly the richest city in the world. We here in Oz have a proud tradition of venerating tragedies, failures, imbeciles and arseholes and Bourke was no exception. In my childhood a giant memorial statue of Bourke and Wills dominated the top of Bourke street in Melbourne (now moved). But a common old term for an incompetant moron in Australia is a "Bourke". Sooo, there's that. Also, I'm sure pedants have already said this but, Victoria is a state, not a city. And it is Wills, not Willis... Ok I'm done. 😆👍
