I'd be happy if the next few episodes were spent mocking other Faulkner books.

Diana

Hey, I really loved this book as a pretentious, depressed, and super privileged adolescent living in the Deep South…damn, now I know how all those recovering Randians felt after the Atlas Shrugged episode. Seriously, though, I used to have Quentin’s watch monologue memorized and I can still recite part of it.

Danial Gibson

Thank you Heath for once again taking the bullet for us so we don't have to endure a shitty book to find out what the hype was all about.

Claire Nollet

I had an English teacher who had a hard-on for James Joyce. "The Dubliners," "Finnegan's Wake," and "Portrait of the Artist of a Young Man" were ALMOST comprehensible, and I almost enjoyed them. We didn't cover "Ulysses" in class, but were urged to read it. That piece of crap made me want to vandalize a library book for the first time in my life.

Moriar

Part of the way through the episode, and I suspect that more than half of the major events in this novel are popular tags on e621. I'm just waiting for a character to pause in a meal and contemplate what it's like to be eaten.

I need to subscribe to that new podcast just to hear Heath rages about bullshit literature. I have to have it! Don’t tease me!

Julie Wine&Reason

This book tortured me in highschool, and I went on to get a BA and an MFA in English. Smells like trees my ass.

Perniciousducks

I need this so much. My life is empty now that I know this is a thing that could exist.

I'm 100% here for a "Heath Hates a Book" podcast!! 🤣 This was the episode that turned me into a patron!

Elvis Manson

I. Read. This. Whole. Goddamned. Book. Not for school, either. A friend recommended it to me after I said how much I enjoyed Ulysses. (He subsequently wasn't my friend anymore.) He told me it would get increasingly more coherent as it went along, and all the confusing crap in the Benji chapter would be resolved. As I approached the last pages I came to the sickening realization that none of it would ever come together. I guarantee nobody could decipher the chronology, or most of the events for that matter, on one reading.

Marie Smith

I would listen to Heath Hates A Book Podcast. I’d be a patron of Heath Hates A Book.

So I had to stop donating because I was out of work for the last 5 months and unfortunately whiskey comes before podcasts, but I was just hired on at a new job much better salary then one I left and I was going to wait to donate until I felt I had caught up on all my bills.... but damnit I laughed so hard on this episode! In all seriousness, you guys are awesome you guys really helped me through a rough patch thank you!

TenaciousB

SAME. I was on the cusp after Atlas Shrugged, but I would absolutely pay to listen to Heath rage read terrible classics. I paid money so I could leave this comment.

Justin Reiser

If you want a veggie tales painting just let me know the details. I can only do abstract work though

Kate Jay

Oh my fuck, I laughed so fucking hard. Please do Heath Shits on a Book, I will pay you. Boo, whales.
