Art Summary 2014-2018 (Patreon)

THE PROCESS

Many years of progress huh. Lots of time spent learning how the snoot works.

Anywho, I think it'd be fun to explain my reasoning for the pictures I pick.
I generally don't pick "best picture" but instead things I find valuable like:
- Learning
- Executing actions
- Being open about info
Now there's more to it than that, some artwork has all 3 of these traits and some only have 1, but those are the 3 generals ideas I follow into.

-LEARNING

Learning is pretty straight forward. If I feel like I learned new info then I will put it on there. For example, 2017's June I had to learn more about perspective in order to make the background.

I will also put things here if I tried to learn something but failed. For example, 2014's August picture is a sonic sketch that I made. It is objectively bad, I knew it was objectively bad back then. However, I liked the feeling the picture evoked due to it's color and composition. So although it was bad, I learned the type of feeling I wanted to evoke in my artwork and kind of a pathway to do that.

-  EXECUTING ACTIONS 

This too is pretty straight forward. If I did something well in the artwork I would put it up there. 2018's October is a good example of this. I pretty sure I wanted to put another picture there but I knew that the way I did the sketch had good composition, anatomy was well done, the feeling was felt, and the forms were good, so I put it there.

This also worked with failure too though, there is a lot of oops poops in 2016's December, but it was a step in learn but also I did, for the limit knowledge I had, made a painting that I think was the best I could do in the framework I gave myself. So for that it deserved to be there

-  BEING OPEN ABOUT INFO

Artwork can be a cold and calculating process. As much as artist go "When you make artwork it's a part of you, it CAME FROM YOU" I don't believe that too much. Artwork does come from you but art is a skill. If you know how to draw a circle you don't need feelings to do that action. At a certain point you can disconnect from such work and still produce great works.

However for a summary that's a pretty shitty thought and I had pieces I put on their because they connected with me personally. I mean most do but some more than others. 2015's April was a big deal,  it was a picture I drew well and was open about liking naked figures. It took a lot to be ok with posting mature artwork because
1. I used favs as a way to see engagement of my work and I knew mature content just generally gets more due to...ya.
2. I wanted to stay sfw to be a proper artist. However to express your ideas is the way to be a proper artist and some of my ideas are mature. So feeling comfortable expressing that was a big deal to me.

Another example is 2017's April. The picture is about killing yourself slowly with a smile on your face. That toxicity of your environment slowly breaking you as society expects you to help it along(the drink in their hand). Even seeing signs of harm(the blood) will not make anyone stop and go "are you ok"
Will most people know all this from looking at it...probably not, but I liked that I took the time to express a feeling I had in art form.

That reason is from putting art in the summary is actually less common than the other two because I have a harder time expressing such ideas in art. I have no problem talking about the ideas, but making a picture that doesn't express the idea enough bothers me so a lot of those types of draws get destroyed or never made sadly. I'll give over such things eventually though and then I'll be able to use this reason more :3

Does koor wish he had made the summaries differently?

Yes.
- I should have just made my own template from the start. Makes it more fancy!
- 2016's May is something I wish I could swap out since that Char belongs to a silly goose and I think there were other pictures that probably deserved the spot more. I'm certain I picked that one though due to the expression which I thought was good at the time >3>
- There are pictures I'd probably swap out nowadays because of how I feel about my gallery now. However, each year's koor idea of what they thought should be represented is in it of itself something to view. What one chooses to frame can tell you a lot about them and I think that's a wonderful thought.

"I started to use the tablet last year and I drew a lot to try to improve.

I get to try and draw even better over the course of 2015. Hopefully, I  can draw more interesting things not be so nervous as to actually post  them.

- 2015

" :3 My art over the year. I've gotten a lot better and a lot faster, even  though I still draw slowly. I can't wait to see next year's summary.  Thank you everyone for supporting me and for liking my stuff. :3 I'm  glad that you guys are willing to do that and it makes me want to get  even better.

- 2016

 "My artwork from this year ୧ʕ•̀ᴥ•́ʔ୨ 

I got better and faster but a lot of my finished artwork is static. I  need to do quicker sketchy pieces and make stuff more dynamic. Must  paint! I need to paint a lot more. Painting is fun but I'm slow and I  don't have a brush I really really like yet lol. Also need to study  more, talk to more artists, make fan art, and need to work in  traditional mediums more (Well bigger pieces, I keep drawing pupper  doodles and giving them to people at work heh heh). I'll hopefully have  more time to do so. 

Thank you everyone who likes, interacts, or watches my stuff. :> I'm  usually really quiet about it but it makes me happy seeing people like  my work and hopefully making their day better/more interesting.  

ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ I'll do better and hopefully next year's summary is really cool! Can't wait to see it!  

P.S. I've mostly gotten past the 2014 Koor's nervousness to post stuff  which is good. Looking back at my older summaries is cringe worthy and  endearing. Most cringey, cant wait to cringe at this summary one day. "

- 2017

 " Another year done!
 

-I think I did well overall. I learned a lot. The improvements do seem  much subtler imo. Jumps in quality may stop from here on out xD. Maybe  not. I may find the ultimate art secret through chunieism.
-Did better with posing and composition. Will need to push even more into harder poses.
-STILL need sketches without color. I rely on colors too much xD
-I was much more open to drawing kinks. Had more confidence that my  ideas weren't dumb (even though some of them are uwu). Will need to go  kinkier
-I talked to more artists to siphon their power level. ^,^ fun times
-STILL need more paintings. I'll try to do daily-ish paints like I was going to do last year
-MOAR FANART, of everything
-I need to gain more confidence still. ^,^; because there's a lot of  points where I don't draw things cause I think too hard about them and  see too many flaws when in reality, it would have been fine finishing  the stuff. ^,^ can't keep doing that cause then things don't get done.
-Also need to do KAT or something like it. :') Which will take a minute to do
-I also need to make comics! Because comics are fun.

" Hey, this is my 5 year art summary!!!
I think I've done much better since my first digital pic I posted: [Here] 

 -I think my stuff has improved again. I can draw faster now. I need to  learn how to paint faster though. I dropped the ball on painting pure  stuff. I still need to find the ultimate art secret through chunieism, my faith has not wavered.
-I did more poses this year. Did more interaction too. I'm getting more comfortable with weird positions now which is good!
-I did sketches without color this year so YA! I need to do even more though.
-I went kinker & talked to more people. Learned a lot!
->3> I did not do daily paintings, I will try to do weekly  paintings because I've been able to do that much more xD. Also I did not  do much fan art, I made up stuff xD.
-I got more confident in doing stuff, but i still lack it in a lot of areas.
-I did make some comics-ish stuff. Not pure comics. Still need to get better at paneling.
 

+Need to paint more
+Need to do backgrounds
+Need my characters to lay down, that much sitting and standing can not be good for them.
+Need to reread and finish some art books I have >3> FUTURE KOOR I SWEAR YOU BETTER HAVE DONE THIS
