Art Summary 2020 (Patreon)

2020

The 7th year of me drawing and the end of a decade (in nerd terms) sure was... uh... something huh
Really hoping future Koor looks at this and goes "Haha, that was a silly time wasn't it" //Future Koor will probably never say that for the deaths alone within the year// Half way through the 10s I was rendering this: [Level of Work] and now I'm here which I think is neat

Now I'm doing this sort of stuff which I'd say is an improvement! I did  good work this year but I also did a lot of stress drawing which wasn't  great.
Patreon did help a lot in allowing me to draw some stuff to feel more  relaxed about the year which I'm grateful for. For all the shit,  collectively helping others was also very much a theme this year, even  with obstacles to doing so.


- I've improved on the sketch front in speed and composition I think.  Also the normal other stuff but I think it was really minimal this year.  
- I did a lot of painting this year. I actually did the weekly paints.  Generally unstructured trying to figure out shapes. Drawing shapes of  colors is still a bit off for me, generally see things in lines. I've  gotten better at noticing the pieces, if it clicks more easily it'll  probably improve my artwork a lot. Especially for the bigger paintings  I'm doing. Chunieism should be practiced more
- Past Koor would be happier that I went kinkier and went less kinky at  the same time. At this point I feel like I need to strike a better  balance cause I (and many others) would like to see more niche stuff...  but my most requested works to continue is one of my least kinky works.  It'd be good to more so learn how to make what I feel is basic horny  stuff to be hornier in a vanilla way. Gonna need the space to fail  without it feeling like bad thing. yay capitalism and a failing society

-- Responding to the past more directly:
- I will be doing more fanart (and have done so already) cause of Twitch  which is an interesting challenge. It'll be heavy adaptations so in a  way I found the way of responding to another's work while it has a very  needed application rather than regurgitating* a work. That feels pretty  nice. SFW is still a bit hard though because my expectations are  unrealistically high and it is hard to just go "ignore all the errors  you see" cause those errors aren't just technical ones...
- Like backgrounds. Ah, with such a vast world, how does one choose to  limit the framing of the setting to a single box? What does it say when  there are too many options with no little fine detailed connections to  them? How the fuck does water work? Future Koor, hopefully you've  figured this out
- Still living off of my art and now I say "like, comment, subscribe. Hit that Patreon Link for earlier notifications"  which makes me even more official I feel. I would of had business cards  too if it weren't for the literal distance between everyone. 2022 or  late 2021 I'll get them unless something else happens
- Did do more perspective, probably need more direct feedback from another person on the topic though.
- Past Koor and Future koor, current koor feels like speed is a terrible  goal cause I'll always worry about going fast rather than just being  confident to leave stuff as it is. Confidence in things being should be  the goal. I will forget this lesson again but maybe it'll stick one day.
- The books you read were history, theory, and direct action. I have a feeling that was the correct call.
- Why didn't I draw the bathrobe...
- Ignoring the weekly paint, you drew macro and went into a vore VRChat  world so, I say you're experimenting. The vore did not consume your soul  don't worry. Not the best year for the type of experimentation you  thought of which I feel past Koor would understand. Un-ignoring the  weekly paint, that experiment will take time but will be worth it. I  clearly can paint, it's just finding the errors of what the painting  should be that I'm slowly finding the solutions for.

+ I have ideas on what I want to see improved, looking over stuff I'll  remember them, but I'm also concerned about the future which makes me  more so want to see where a Future Koor stands there rather than  responding to a 2020 Koor's idea of progress

Overall, it's 2020
2021 will be a continuation of that but not in the same way. Future Koor will be able to give more info, current me is tired


Thanks everyone who has supported my works on Patreon, specifically this  year, it means a lot. Also those who shared/followed/liked my works on  other sites besides FA. Glad FA is a place where people see my artwork  as well but I'd be lying if I didn't say I'd prefer others enjoy my  works elsewhere. I'm writing this summary here on FA due to the  connection to the past. I still have disdain for this site though and  want the fandom to create the better site clearly is possible.

Shout out for the ones on FA's team for doing more though. More people  like that on FA's team and maybe future Koor will have to strike out  this portion of the summary. I'd be happier being wrong about my current  thoughts of this place.

I was informed we needed more bears. There's a bear in this summary so I think that counts for a lot

*  I'm certain someone will glare at me  for that. Fanart is a good expression of someone's love of another  person's ideas which I think is great. However the stereotype of one  doing a Nintendo, aka vocalizing the nostalgia of a property with the  viewer's response becoming a focus on the property rather than the  artist's response to why they drew it in the first place, is a real thing.

A someone who clearly talks too about weird concepts, I like when fanart communicates an artist's relationship to the property. I'm not the best  at expressing that yet so I myself need to learn how to do this, but I  have been worried about this because failure causes a lot of recognition  for doing a fanart drawing. Not that fanart=immediate praise, but IF that happened I'd feel bad when people expect a x character with dick  over say, an Evergrace play through draw.
