January 2022 Update (Patreon)

TLDR =  New new year. Major update going forward for NEW AAPAK Tier supporters, so many people supporting me in a short time thank you so much, Knoty Dog/Comics Update/Ideas, help me be a youtuber as a side gig please lol

Change To Almost As Pure As Koor Tier

I've been debating about how to handle my Thank you notes for a while now. Explanation is mid, end is actual change.

My original intentions of the TY notes was 2 fold. 1) I thought it was a nice gesture that I would personally want if I joined a patreon  2) People would be more likely to stick around getting a nice gesture such as that

That whole thing was sort of a mixed bag though. The reward scales very poorly with numbers and the reception ranged from super excited to bad time. With how much time it takes me to make them cause of me being particular, that range isn't super great overall given it's $10

So first change I did was switched to the new style so that I could get my ty note turn around times faster. I felt bad for just sneakily changing the tier and more people joining my highest tier is nice, so I announced it to the public that such a change was happening. Which flooded me with a lot of new work to do. Some of which was people who very rightly saw it as a discounted headshot if they subbed for 1 month which is not the main thing I was going for but with announcing such a change as "no more this type of headshot" that makes sense people would do that lol.

With the pandemic and just life happening, that meant pushing times of completion back which also meant angry people. Which in my eyes and how this Patreon is structure just price wise alone: $3 gets you the finalized hires art, $3 extra gets the WIP art & special finalized work, and the final $4 extra is textless works, polls, etc... ignoring the taxes and fees taken out of all that... Especially with 2020 hind sight, I feel like even without the note that's worth while. Wait times are annoying for sure, I'm definitely a slow dumbass much of the time, but just seeing the $10 as "The tier is mainily the icon so I demand icon" is just kinda shity. Definitely things to criticize my patreon or me in general for, the ty note isn't one of them.

JUST TO BE CLEAR, I've had many people poke me and ask about it who have been very kind and understanding. Which is cool. I'm very open to being messaged about questions or anything that pops up. It's not bad to go "Hey where's the stuff". I too ask such questions. 

But to be told that the tier is worthless or that I'm bad because I didn't produce a $4 icon (which would be less when fees & taxes are applied) when I could charge $20 /just/ for the icon alone AND be told by friends "I'm undercharging for said icon" isn't  great.

THUS THE ACTUAL CHANGE TO THE TIER WILL BE, the tier is losing it's TY Note benefit. I've sent out the form link to those who got here before this post. If you've subbed to the highest tier before Jan 30th 2022, even if you didn't fill out the form yet or said no to the reward in the past, you're good to redeem it. It'll take time, but unless I perish somehow, you'll receive it/have already received it.
Everyone else, just gets the other benefits of the tier. 

I probably will try to find some easier fun thing to add to the tier, but that's for a future Koor to decide.

Huge Boost in Support

The last huge boost of support all at once was from the Weredelayed comic back in 2020 lol. Technically the other boost was the icon switch but that had a reward incentive rather than just a pure support sort of deal, so I'm not counting that.

The pool toy isn't the direct boost as Weredelayed, but the new support certainly is felt. So I wanted to say thank you very much directly for that. It means a lot! I was actually $30 off from my basic living sustainability goal which was very exciting. Now is a ways off again but is still super close which is very exciting! If more people support like you with the next few series, that would easily shoot over that mark and onward to a major patreon goal/me being able to upgrade equipment/do some other stuff much more easily which would help out a lot in a myriad of ways

Knoty Spy/Other series

So for the amazingly pure, you'll know I've been doing comic-y stuff more. Cause I do have a million comic ideas. Just more so writing them down so to speak now. I've been releasing the ideas weekly now which I think works out better for suspense while also not requiring me to output a literal full length comic series every week

One of the series I've wanted to/have worked for a long time is the knoty dog series. This year it'll be one of my main things to finish, cause I really want it done and I know others do too.

However I do have a lot of ideas for them (They don't have a name though cause I'm that...  cool? B) )
So I made one of them into a quick alt-page story series. Probably will release it every 2 weeks. I may do 1 page per week though.

I've also released the first page to a short commissioned comic. So those amazingly pure and above will see that as it comes out.

Other current written down ideas have been:
- Beach Boy Toy Part 5+ (just started)
-Cursed Tanuki Sword
-Stream extension
and -Yapp Startup

Just as a quick reminder. Series normally go to pure furs+ because they're random individual finished pictures, but may go to the comic if I make them more structured/planned out. Comics go to amazingly pure+ cause they're formed in that structured way + will look more like actual comics

3rdly I've been working on fixing my lecture to be shorter. The time is around 1hr 30 mins now, and I could basically finish the credits and release it

Buuuuuut, that's really bad for Youtube. I want to take youtube seriously, which means delaying videos until I have a buffer , or at least until I can get the watch hours I need for monetization, is the smartest thing to do.

Thus, I'm going to do that. Which sucks cause again, the video is basically done. However, my main focus is here and on artwork. So having that extra income on youtube gives me the "don't put your eggs all in one basic" plan that I need, but will inherently have a slower output

I want to show it unlisted but from reading youtube's info, unlisted videos are bad to earn monetization requirements. I'm 6.5% of the way to earning the /chance/  to be accepted into the monetization program. So needless to say, every view counts currently. So I'm nervous of putting it out, people watching it, then not watching the public version

So hopefully, I don't have an estimated time for releasing videos. But my long time of saying "I'm working on youtube stuff" is actually much closer to the end where I actually have stuff to show for it!

Watching my videos is cool. Watch time them tells youtube I'm worthy. So, ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ／ why not stick that into a tab and watch to your hearts content . I've heard people fall asleep to my voice so, maybe sticking that playlist in a background tab as you rest is good for ya! ʕ´•ᴥ•`ʔ Maybe it's so smoothing it plays in the background as quiet background noise. The possibilities are endlessly within the time of the public videos run time

- I swear none of this is a new years resolution lol. It's just been a good time to take stock of things

- I am still very excited that I was $30 off from the first goal

- I tried to drift in the snow earlier this month and the tires I got apparently don't suck.... so I can't drift that easily anymore...

- I'M GOING TO TRY AND DO DISCORD THINGS. I WAS GONNA DO IT AT THE END OF JAN BUT I COULDN'T CAUSE PLANS CHANGED BUT THAT'S FINE. I'LL BAP YOU WITH TOE BEANS IN VRCHAT OR SOMETHING. PROBABLY JACKBOX CAUSE A PATRON BROUGHT THAT UP AND IT WOULD BE VERY FUN
