Bit off the ball still, but general plan

February was a weird month not gonna lie lol

So a mini-self dox, Michigan State University had a shooting in the middle of the month aka near my location. Fun fact, if I hadn't told my partner to not get some food/drink cause it's too expensive right now, they would have been stuck inside the building where the shooter was. So yay lack of money saves lives?

Kinda threw off the week and a bit after. Luckily the big snow storm that followed didn't knock out our power so I could work on more simple tasks like editing video. However it did knock out my family's so yay greedy Michigan electric companies and them not fixing stuff properly in the first place for years!

Anywho, point being. I absolutely lose some work time in the shortest month. Besides a family member who is visiting from Georgia (the country) and taxes (cries in more complex taxes this year), I'll just be working/have been working on completing stuff this month

I've published the other normal polls for the AAPAK folk. One poll was stuck in drafts so whoops sorry about that.

I'll be aiming mostly for artwork to be done so I can complete commissions and start posting publicly near April!

I'll record a new casual video, maybe edit it. Next section will talk about it

If I have enough time I'll be trying to finish up the blender portion of my first vrchat 3D model, the tanuki avatar. Which I'll discuss in the next next section.

The next casual video I want to record is something to do with actual art creation. Still deciding on what they should be. I may do a "my bias in art" video too. I think stating biases helps show how others could use the tricks/tips, just unsure if I want to do that for a casual video! I keep flip flopping on that haha

3D Modeling & Furality

Apple taught me how not to be dumb so the retopo I was struggling with is still bit of a struggle, but not enough to stop me!!!

So the tanuki has been fully retopo'd with less than 10k polygons aka, fallback avatar worthy!

I actually already imported the model into Vrchat as a test, which was successful! Weight painting is the current step I'm on. Once that works I'll move onto blend shapes. Then besides the unity settings... it'll be done.

Definitely not the best of models but having a completed model will be nice. The next model I'm going to make is probably a robot dog, cause I want to figure out sharp angles plus the topology is still easier. I have an idea for one currently but I'm going to re-design it cause it's kinda... boring. Need to look into megaman designs for inspirations honestly haha.

Then hopefully with that expereince I can move onto proper dog.

Now all that I spoke about so far is SFW, but 👏what👏about👏the👏Weenus👏?

My long term goal is to make NSFW 3D modeling stuff too. I already video edit and I know I have good story bits for my work. Thus making models of all my chars then having them do the thing would be a good addition to this Patreon/Gallery. I've already mentioned this before, in fact

This was already a project I tried with the major issue of Retopology

The reason why koor barely moved was cause the only low poly stuff was very small already. Computer + Blender + trying to move millions of polys = no no. I had gotten to test blender's scene tools but not really anything else. I may retopo that koor for practice but producing a new model probably is more benefital.

Basically, getting good at models I can sell for VRChat/ChilloutVr/etc means new pp touching stuff here!

Which I went to! Twas fun. Mostly spent my time at meets and looking at avatars. >3> It has made me want to focus on optimization.

Sorry if I was out of it for some of it cause they put the Twitch meet up at 11am when there were other things going on the previous night >:c Non-america change to our timezone please ty. Meeting a lot of cool people who discuss avatar stuff so that's been super helpful as well!

The avatar display was also a large portion of my time. Seeing how people do their work, what people graviate towards, what cool attachments models have, etc. I do need to properly do that in blender too (which I have) but seeing the model in 3D is a lot more helpful than on a 2D screen in my head at least. Learned a lot!

I do need to quickly learn how to make a proper utility avatar as a side project.
