July 2023 Update (Patreon)

This is the fifty-fifth month of the Patreon! I have big news everyone! Which is why this update is late. Thank you for your support :3!

TLDR - Big news that's vague for now, Keeping new art patreon only for a while due to social media happenings, Art sad times, Youtube good but also bad?, small plans, Hard drive failed and it was fine but then it wasn't fine.

The Big News

So... I do have big news I want to share. I've been waiting to mention it once I got the confirmation which happened! However, there's still some parts of the finalization that haven't happened yet so to air on the side of caution I can't fully say what it is. Hopefully with info this week I can mention it in the next update but this news may come late August

Anywho, the news is good. A massive personal change but one that's better overall! It'll be exciting to share! Sorry about the vagueness.

Posting Schedule

So I tried to do a daily wolf posting thing on twitter cause Musk banned the daily wolf bot. And posting my art daily has gotten me a lot more attention than norm. So which that being an easy setup and it being a good method to re-get my name out there, I won't be posting new artwork publicly for a while

I'M STILL GOING TO BE POSTING NEW ART HERE. I AM JUST SLOW AND TIRED THAT'S REALLY IT. So if you or your friends are wondering "hey where's koor's new art, I know he has some on patreon" it's gonna just be on patreon until that posting daily method runs out (I have like 500+ pictures so it'd take a long while before that happens) or it stops working (it is still working)

Artwork in general

Like I said last month, there's art near completion. It really has just been a mixture of IRL happenings, nerves, and being slow that's delayed that. I am trying my best! I do really want to get the stuff done cause 1) I get art to y'all and 2) it'd make me feel better and 3) >3> I really want stuff done

So that's a goal that hopefully I complete so that I am not saddened...

Also I'm planning on making a casual video tutorial to see how that goes. More akin to the streamed artist tutorials on youtube. The winner topic of this is "how to tf a head" so that'll be a thing! Look out for that when it's finished

Youtube release was a mixed bag

Good:

A lot of people have responded well to the videos both publicly and privately. Even the AI one has been pretty positive. Only like, 3 people out of many many people hate my guts now which given how sensitive the topic is I call that a success!

Gotten feedback on the work itself too. People seem to appreciate the editing so far and everyone really really really really likes my voice which is always nice to hear.

Bad:

NGL got a bit sad that I'm still far away from my youtube partner goal. For the standards of a rando on youtube, I'm doing better than many others, and over time I should reach my goal. It's just one of those "You'd think with multiple sites having over 10k followers I'd at least be able to hit 1k on videos"

If 3500 people watched my AI video or idea video all the way through, I'd hit youtube partner instantly. Youtube's algorithm really seems unsure where to place my videos which isn't great. Which is part of the "eventually I'll hit my goal". A video about how ideas affect the world or the implications of AI art probably doesn't interest viewers of *checks youtube's notes* "Boss DARES Me to Quit" or "Anthropologist reacts to *rando person*" when it shows up on their sidebar

So at this time, sharing and watching my video MASSIVELY helps. Word of mouth is basically saving my ass currently view wise. Hopefully it also helps push the video into better side bars unless y'all are watching "CURSED COMMENTS V94"

If I can get youtube partner, I can get the ad revenue youtube is already collecting off my videos. So again, SHARING MY WORK REALLY HELPS AND IT'S FREE!

Other dealings

I've already mentioned it before but I want to do a future YCH action once I'm done with other work first. I'm also looking into how feasible it is to physical merch. Mostly focusing on art prints, Some stuff looks promising but it'll be a minute before I can really confirm having a good setup for that. Still something to note or comment on if you happen to want to have a certain work in the physical form!

Hard Drive Failure

My data is fine. I was prepped for it to fail it just took time to transfer stuff which was a but annoying. >3> Then a family member's hard drive died too and we had to become tech support for them. That sure did take a lot of time to fix. Lesson of the day: never be tech support, pretend to not know how computers work

General

- REMEMBER THAT IF YOU HAVE A BLUE SKY KEY, YOU SHOULD GIVE IT TO YOU FRIENDS. IF YOU DON'T HAVE FRIENDS THAT NEED A KEY, GIVE IT TO OTHER FURRIES!!!
I actually haven't made my purekoor account yet cause I'm trying to ensure more people can get on faster (at least as fast as 2 weeks per key allows ya know)
