Maddison_

This poem is very inspirational ❤

Caterina Marie

Well now...that was delightfully full of...incentives for misbehavior.

elleyoop

I thought you made up E E Cummings 💀💀

Flirtation is always sexy… …but I draw the line at extramarital affairs. I’ve seen one too many and the fallout is almost always a disaster. Don’t mind me. It’s just one of my non-negotiables in a relationship. I’m strictly monogamous. No judgement on those who prefer and who are in open relationships. That’s a different situation altogether.

I can’t wait until the pandemic is over. One of the things I miss and want to do is attend a reading/performance of romantic and erotic poetry. Dear lord, when?

Dorkypocky

"But your wife!" 🙊 ow wow very well recited~

V, the librarian

this was divine said she (I might do more said he I want more said she) we'll see said he you promise? said she

Caterina Bunny

I’d love more of these please 🥺 I was not expecting to like that so much lol After listening to that, I’d love to hear more audios where he reads us erotic poems or novels

Lin ✿

You can attend performances of this type of poetry?? Never knew that XD

barbara

I love this poem. Playful, but a little sinister - the last line crossing over the acceptance of the complications of the fact that the man has a wife. I commend the cadence, btw 💛

V, the librarian

Thank you, I thought it would be fun to try and mimick the style of the original poem when asking for more poetry read by Noah. 😄

AltDiem

Maybe Noah to host a poetry recital? A collab with other VAs or any of ze bagels be interesting. I don’t know how that works on YouTube or Patreon but I joined a Discord group for musicians and they do live recitals there. Just an idea. I would attend (timezone permitting lol).

Why is this particular poem of EEC so popular? Ok it's cheeky but I find a couple of his other poems much better: "I like my body" and "Lady I will touch you" are more erotic, imho.

LilacW

E.E. Cummings was known for throwing the rulebook out when it came to punctuations and syntax. This simple yet scandalous (to the literary world, at least) act of writing rebellion allowed EEC to bring a visual element and aural playfulness that is resonant of the words and sentiment he writes. Here is one of his poems I mentioned earlier that I thought oughta have more erotic spotlight. It is written the way he wanted it with his signature staccato: I like my body when it is with your body. It is so quite new a thing. Muscles better and nerves more. i like your body. i like what it does, i like its hows. i like to feel the spine of your body and its bones and the trembling -firm-smooth ness and which i will again and again and again kiss, i like kissing this and that of you, i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz of your electric furr, and what-is-it comes over parting flesh...And eyes big love-crumbs, and possibly i like the thrill of under me you so quite new

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE POEM! ARE YOU SHITTING ME RIGHT NOW 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😳😳😳😳😳😳

LilacW

Mhm. 'May I Feel' is tongue-in-cheek. The others are quite a bit more lyrical in their licentiousness. Tbh, I'm surprised no one's brought up EEC's most famous work: I Carry Your Heart With Me. Is it cuz it's romantic as opposed to raunchy? 😂

V, the librarian

What an interesting poem. I'm definitely going to read up on the other ones you mentioned as well. E. E. Cummings has such a unique style, I like it a lot. Though I sometimes find it difficult to understand, because he doesn't stick to the usual rules of punctuation and syntax.
