A new hope for a new year (Patreon)

Happy new year, yada yada, yada! And most importantly, thanks for starting 2022 with me!
As usual, I am taking no new year resolution, but I do intend to keep rolling. I already have a bunch of wild outdoors shoots scheduled for January to keep me hot and cold, both in body and spirit.
One of my big 2022 exploration is most definitely going to be self-portraiture, though, which leads us to a comment on the above pics.
I took most of these under the patronage of a friend. Their most remarkable feature is that they were shot using a tripod, a camera, a remote... and a very bad light setting.
I am usually not a big fan of selfies. I like my images to be sharp and clean. Selfies have a raw and intimate vibe I don't often play with. My goal would be to produce self-portraits that do not look any different, in terms of composition and finitions, from the pictures taken of me by other photographers.
In the meantime, though, there might be something worth exploring in the grainy cracks of phone selfies and imperfect natural lighting. What strikes me about the above images is that, despite a few obvious editing tricks, they look very natural and a bit warm, albeit moody. This vibe is most definitely something I ought to toy with more.
I also think this is the right place to show my tests and progress, as I would not yet dare to post anything so raw on my public accounts.
Let me know what you think... or what you'd like to see!
