Hello my lovelies! I'm still in Canada, which has been 95% amazing, full of good friends, good conversations, good food, and 5% I'M SICK IN MY HOTEL BED :C :C :C But it's ok! I'm not as sick as I could be, and while I wont feel FANTASTIC tomorrow, I expect I'll be on my feet for a weekend of signing books at VanCaf. This is the second time I've gotten sick this month! The first time was over-worked, stress-induced (from working double time to hit the first round of Oni Press/Limerence deadlines), but this time I can only blame the germ-y residents of Toronto for passing on their Canadian diseases that my inferior American immune system was not cut out to handle. I know my Convention Wife, Lucy Bellwood, also came down with con crud, so please keep us both in your thoughts and prayers. It's been so long since I was last sick *and alone*. I honestly can't remember the last time it happened. I was supposed to spend yesterday and last night at a friend-couple's house (I've been promising to visit since, like, 2010?) but rather than risk exposing them to whatever it is I have, I instead booked a hotel room where I've cocooned myself in bed with a small army of sickness accessories that the afore-mentioned friends helped me pick up. I'm making this sound more dramatic than it is. I mean, yes, I am sick, but with enough rest and tea I'm pretty sure I can crush it. Ailments aside, wow, Vancouver has been lovely. Lots of exploring and eating and Real Talks with friends. I've been feeling so many feelings and thinking so many thoughts, I keep telling myself I should write some of this down so I don't forget what an intense and meaningful trip this has been when I return back to my regular schedule on Monday-- but part of me thinks maybe it's better to leave all these experiences purely in my memory where they'll slowly (or not-so-slowly) disintegrate. Just let myself live them and move on, without trying to superimpose Symbolism and Reflective Meaning and a Narrative Arc on them. Also, I'm too tired and over-stimulated to do that kinda work right now. Ok, I think I can doze off again now. What's your favorite flavor of cough drop? Mine's cherry.

Anything BUT cherry. Hope you feel better soon.

Luden's Wild Cherry 4 lyfe! :-) Seriously, I have 3 bags of these stashed around the place, including my cubicle. Hoping you feel up to snuff soon!

Ugh not "Orange," thanks DayQuil. I nearly vom every time I take the stuff! I have some Pine Bros softish ("softish!!") lozenges with me, though, that're delicious!! Feel better, babes, I'm riding this dumb tugboat with ya!

Honey lemon FTW! Feel better soon, Erika. Con crud is the wooooorst.

For flavor, I like cherry or one of the herbal ones, but for feeling better, I go for the ones that have actual honey in. Honey is a godsend for coughs and sore throats @_@
