Ah, the silly fun that is 'A Knight's Tale'. While it is wildly unhistorical, it does have a few historical bits. Geoffrey Chaucer wrote the book 'The Canterbury Tales', which was a series of common stories in Middle English. It's the one all high school students dread because Middle English is not Modern English. Jousting was not meant to be fatal, but accidents happened. The lances were made to shatter, in fact you got more points if it did. What William did WAS punishable by death. He didn't just lie, he lied himself into a higher social class. While commoners could be elevated to nobility, it was rare and always done officially.

Missed the end credits scene ;)

This might be my favorite movie. The cast, the music, the jousting. Such a great combo.
