This is a fun, first-time watchalong. We get to hear some of yesteryear's jargon like 'heater' (gun).

The Maltese Falcon's lead statuette sold for $4,085,000 at a Bonhams auction in New York in November 2013, so I guess it is "the stuff that dreams are made of." I love this movie, but I think The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and Casablanca are a little better. I am still waiting for To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) Dasha.

Dasha might get a kick out of a movie based on author Dashiell Hammett's (he wrote The Maltese Falcon novel) work, "The Thin Man" (1934), a mystery/comedy featuring everybody's favorite detective couple, Nick and Nora Dunn, and their dog, Asta.
