Gray Haven — 5.0 Version Development Progress 2

Hello, this is NINEHECTARE!

Following up on last week, we're back again with more news about the Gray Haven 5.0 update and the upcoming beta!!

This time, we'll go through the newly added statues, housing improvements, and the pile of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements one by one.

■ Summoning and Additional Interactions

Eloney (Age 19), Eloney (Age 29), and Nikola Endridge have been added as Summoning.

Related interactions have also been added, so now even more interactions are possible!

The statues can be placed both indoors and outdoors.

We're really looking forward to seeing where you place them and what creative ideas you come up with~!

■ Grass Removal When Placing Furniture

While placing the new farms and other facilities that will be added, the grass kept overlapping with the 3D models and getting in the way.

Not only did it affect the appearance, but it also made it harder for players to clearly see and recognize the placed objects.

So now, when you place furniture, the grass and bushes around it will disappear!

Check it out directly in the GIF below.

■ Housing Upgrade Rework

We've also added a new presentation to housing upgrades.

Previously, whenever you wanted to change your house, you had to give materials to APIS each time.

But now, it works in a collection-style format. Once you purchase it just once, you can ask APIS to change your house whenever you want~!

■ Apiary Added

In the previous Devlog, we also introduced the Logging Camp and Quarry.

In addition to those, we added an Apiary, an object similar to the Logging Camp, to make food more accessible.

However, so that it can coexist with the existing "food" content, we've set it so that only one can be unlocked.

■ Bug Fixes

Here are some of the smaller fixes included this time~.

One particularly inconvenient issue was that the Lost Items panel was showing all items instead of only the items that had been lost, making it impossible to immediately tell what you had actually lost. This has been fixed.

There was also an unintended issue where the self-destructing monsters in the Realm of Eros would immediately self-destruct as soon as they took damage.

This felt unnatural, so we fixed it.

They now work properly in the same way as the existing self-destructing Shades and self-destructing Maidbots.

In addition, we've fixed a small animation bug where Dayna was looking in the wrong direction, and also improved some of the interaction code related to chairs and braziers.

■ Improvements

For these improvements, we focused on increasing accessibility and improving controls based on feedback from many players.

We received a lot of feedback that controls within the UI were inconvenient, so we started by working on that.

WASD movement within the inventory is now much more natural.

We've also brought back the Quick Slot feature, which had been unused for quite some time. You can now register and swap Quick Slot items even while the inventory is open!

It was also difficult to tell at a glance whether an item could be sold or not.

So we've added a disabled UI indicator so you can immediately tell.

The Gray Haven 5.0 update is progressing steadily!

The additional content, bug fixes, and improvements introduced above will be available for you to try directly in the beta version starting next Wednesday.

Where you'll place the statues, and what you'll fill the spaces with after the grass disappears~

It feels like our development will continue to progress just as much as the towns you create!

Since this is a beta, there may still be some issues that we haven't discovered yet.

If you notice anything strange or inconvenient, please feel free to let us know anytime.

Most of these improvements also started from the feedback you've shared with us~!

The beta will be released next Wednesday, and we'll be back with a more polished version.

Thank you so much, as always, for your support~!!!
