Oktoberfest! (Patreon)

This is part of a collaboration for German webtoon artists which will come up soon, but I'll share it here with better quality first.a few words (actually a wall of text) about this piece:I think, besides HITLER, the world associates Germany with OKTOBERFEST, Bavaria & Beer.In my whole life, I never ever met a person in Germany who actually LIKES Oktoberfest, because its a massive binge drinking, everything is full of PUKE, drunk stupid people everywhere who forgot every boundaries, tourists who can't handle the German beer and so on. The whole city of Munich and every train towards it is unbearable during this time and a lot of people who actually live there just escape if they can.If you fade out the whole alcohol orgy, Oktoberfest is a huge festival with lots of amusement rides, where most of the people wear traditional Bavarian costumes and have a good time.For our non German folks out there a few details in this image:Background: iconic ferris wheel of the OktoberfestNoah is wearing a traditional costume, which is located to Allgäu (where his family comes from). The flowers on the lederhose (I can't believe the English word for it is the same as in German) and suspenders are Edelweiss flowers, which you can find in the Alps (they are under species protection because every tourist want to pick one for a souvenir). Noah is eating a huge Brezel, which is also typical for (well at least bavarian) festivals.Lorn carries a gingerbread heart, which is very common on german festivals. You never buy a gingerbread heart for yourself but give it to the person of your affection. There are messages written on it, which are mostly very cringe. Lorns heart has two doves and the word "Täubchen" on it. Drawing this I was split between amusement and cringe, because growing up in an bavarian village as a non cis/het/religious child gives me lots of negative feelings and cringe when drawing Noah in this outfit. But I have to distance myself from that, because Noah has so much good memories of this, because he only visits for vacation and doesn't have to deal with conservative Christians all the time LOL.Also I think it suits him somehow, he looks like a real 'Dorfdepperle' (bavarian dialect: cute form of a silly(slightly stupid) person who lives in a village).Greetings,Bob
