Shading practice with Memi

I've been reading a lot of very beautifully drawn otome isekai stories lately and I wanted to copy the shading /editing style.

Trying to implement what I've learned into my comic pages too... let's see if that improves anything lol

Funny you mention that, I’m a super sucker for those otome isekai/villainess comics and manga. I swear I’ve read nearly every one that exists

No way, same here! It's such a guilty pleasure because half of them are super trashy but still so fun to read. I have so many ideas for villainess comics myself but I better stay faaar away from romance.

If you want more references: I was studying the art of "Secret Lady" by @bana_comic on twitter while drawing this. "A stepmother's Märchen" by @Orkatoon is also REALLY beautifully illustrated.

I can never read otome without thinking of My Next Life as a Villainess, and I'm not even sure if it's an otome itself XD. This is such a gorgeous art style though, but it looks like so much work as well
