Sahash cut off the antlers of the dead before the burial, so that their Shang could not leave the body. Securely locked inside, it gradually decomposes along with the remains and disappears without a trace.

According to Parbian funeral traditions, the body is wrapped in a luxurious hand-woven shroud and decorated with colorful strings with tassels. The deceased is tied to a milestone and placed in a vertical grave under the ground. The top of the milestone is crowned with the skull of any horned animal and the personal belongings of the deceased.

If the deceased doesn't have their antlers cut off, their Shang will definitely use them to get out of the body. First, the antlers will sprout to the surface as a low, gnarled bush with almost no leaves. After 16 nights, the bush will blossom and Shang will become a ghost.

Ghosts are impersonal, they silently wander around, stealing Shang from the living or even tsourai. After having accumulated enough souls, they take on a personality and become Moroi, or, as they call themselves, the Lords of Breath. Their domain can be located both in the Flat and in the Stream, where unlucky travelers often wander and remain there forever as Moroi servants.

Do humans get a horned skull gravestone too, even though they didn't have any horns in life? That would be rather nice.

This is real awesome to see. :D Are there any sort of particulars/preferences for the animal skull used? And what about individuals (such as children) who don't have their horns?

I didn't imagine that their graves were dug vertically, nice detail. Also, bodies without cut antlers creating potentially harmful ghosts is a pretty scary concept if you think about it.

Wow this is cool to see! I didn't think their graves would be traditionally dug vertically. Love seeing the concept of Moroi!

It varies from country to country. In Latory it's usually the sujidaro or local goats. Other nations may have different burial traditions. Sahash children cannot become ghosts, if their horns do not start to grow yet. ^^

Yes, Parba think of themselves as of one nation no matter the species, so humans there have the same graves and milestones as sahash do. As a result, it is difficult to distinguish between a human grave and a sahash grave when you visit the latorian cemetery.

I was super curious about Parbian burial practices, so this is awesome to see! Always love seeing more about Shang-Lanian lore ^^
