Genrenauts Playtest Kit - Sep 2021 (Patreon)

Dear Patrons,

I've been working on the Forged in the Dark Genrenauts game, and after a great design seminar with Sarah Doom of Magpie Games, I created a streamlined SRD (System Reference Document) to make sure I could boil down the core elements of the game into a streamlined form designed for one-shot play.

Along with the SRD, I've prepared a spreadsheet set with a story region sheet, character sheets, and a sheet for safety tools. Both are maintained online 

By their power combined, this provides the material for someone already familiar with the core Blades in the Dark rules to run their own single mission playtest in the Modern Action region.

I've done some internal playtesting and will be doing a lot more, especially once I have a full draft of the campaign rules (which are coming along swimmingly. I am really excited about the potential for making the game feel very distinct using these ideas). But if you're really excited to play Genrenauts right now, these rules will let you do that. Pretty soon now, I'll be switching back into novel revision mode, so the rate of Genrenauts rpg updates may slow for a while. However, I'm also thinking about what the best way is to talk more about the design process with y'all as I keep working.
