I'm reprising a class I taught for the Rambo Academy for Wayward Writers on Saturday, May 14, 2022, 12:00-2:00 PM Pacific Time (3-5pm EDT)

The class is called Power and Politics in Worldbuilding: Schemes, Factions, and Culture.

Cultural worldbuilding informs plotting, characterization, and more. How do you build cultures and societies that set you up for political storytelling? What other tools can you use to make it easier to put together faction conflict and worldbuilding that embeds a character in overlapping and conflicting groups? Author and Folklorist Michael R. Underwood provides insights and tools for taking your cultural and political worldbuilding up to the next level.

In the class I take material from my folkloristics background and from ttrpgs like Apocalypse World and Blades in the Dark to give writers/storytellers some tools for better cultural worldbuilding and plot generation, especially for political stories.

This has been my most popular class with the Rambo Academy and it's been fun to refine the class each time I teach it.

SPECIAL NOTE: As patrons, you can get a special discounted rate on this class when you register. Just make sure to reference that you're a subscriber to my Patreon and give the code 'clocksclocksclocks' when you sign up to get a special discount.
