Interesting episode. The time skip surprised me. The interesting thing to me: the episode is titled Stronger and David has beef up his Cyberware but the question is is he really stronger? Lucy rightfully points out that he’s still chasing someone else’s dream. He started out trying to fulfill his mom’s dream, now he’s essentially trying to be Maine. He keeps loosing mentor figures and letting himself be defined by that, The theme of dreams (as in, having greater goals and aspirations beyond what the world pushes on you) seems central to the show. Compare Lucy breaking free from Arasakas goals for her and finding her own dream of the Moon. David int going to get truly “stronger until he starts finding his own dream. I have a bad feeling about Faraday. I’m sure Arasaka still wants to control Lucy and I’m nervous about how this will tie together with Faraday. It sure seems like he’s trying to weeken the crew cohesion and manipulate David. . I don’t think I’ve figured out more than you have about where it’s gonna go Bunny, it’s just clear that they’re setting up some sort of betrayal but keeping things just ambiguous enough to keep the tension high.
