Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan Full Reaction!

Looking forward to watching this after work :D

It was really fun to help you to experience Star Trek like this and why I love the franchise as much (and perhaps more) then Star Wars. :)

Checkov wasn’t there? Was he??? CALM DOWN! You haven’t seen enough Star Trek to be jumping to those conclusions yet 😁 there’s an excellent response to that in the dvd commentary- it’s actually one of my favorites EVER! The director was a genius

James Quinn

“He’s dead Jim!” Was that a meme??? Honey! 😓😓😓 people just used to quote movies and shows WAY BEFORE THE INTERNET! Did you know Captain Kirk never actually says Beam me up Scotty(?) it’s just a combination of wordage used in the show, but in a different order

James Quinn

One interesting thing about Wrath of Khan is there’s barely any mention of Aliens! Just a reference to Klingons in the beginning and of course everyone’s favorite Vulcan- Mr Spock, and Kirstie Alley who was new to the crew at the time... this movie is based on submarine warfare— Enterprise vs Reliant, 2 Federation ships. It’s the best movie, but where my Aliens at? 😅

James Quinn

It also introduced the military aspect of federation and its uniforms... before that they had on shiny black boots and basically pajamas! 😇 they had some weird clothes in ST motion picture too! Haha

James Quinn

Trivia- in the 60s, Gene Roddenberry saw Davey Jones in The Monkees tv show and said- Star Trek needs one like that- so they brought in Checkov! Look it up

James Quinn

One fan favorite episode is Trouble with Tribbles, but the show runners hated it 🤓 you might want to see that one for laughs

Kind of like GoT is one of the greatest fantasy shows— but doesn’t have any Elves or goblin/ ork races- only humans, one dwarf, and a dragonborn, a giant or two. with undead nightwalkers. I think this is why it caught on mainstream, and all the SEX! (Which was not in the books I heard)

Are you ever planning on watching the other movies? Star Trek movies 2, 3 and 4 all go together like a trilogy, can't believe it's been almost 2 years and I don't see that you reacted to any of the other movies.

bunnytails

Yes, it is coming. After I watched this, I wanted to learn more about the characters and world from the beginning. I have watched all of The Original Series and the Animated Series. After a short detour through the fan series, Star Trek Continues, I will return to the movies and watch all six. I believe they will be even more enjoyable now that I understand the history of these characters rather than going straight into The Search for Spock back then. I am fully immersing myself in the Star Trek universe as opposed to rushing through the popular stuff only.

Awesome, thanks for responding, can’t wait 😛
