Ekko: It's not enough to give people what they need to survive, you gotta give them what they need to live More bars lol Damn, that final scene always gets me! So close to peace and everything being hunky dory. But all it takes is Jinx indiscriminately shooting due to her fractured mind and accidentally killing Silco (did you notice he had the gun in his hand) and making the choice to be Jinx and fuck everything up! Man, just EMOTIONAL DAMAGE! And yeah, I said exactly the same thing you did at the end on my first watch through 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭 Can't wait for season 2!

Yay you finished the season! Round two with Vi and Sevika is so good. Sevika just won’t die lol. Tho who knows what woulda happened if Jinx hadn’t shown up. I love all the line deliveries at the dinner table. Silco's “Don’t cry, you’re perfect.” Gets me every time and then Sting starts playing and Jinx goes “Here’s to the new us.” And the red moon and the rocket and there’s Mel. Aaaahhh It’s all SO GOOD! Can’t wait for season two!

Long-ass paragraph incoming: Sad thing is Vi was not really the one to root for here. She thinks she's grown into bigger responsibility, but the truth is she's still the same hotheaded kid from before she went to prison. Thinking that fighting her way through Silco's entire operation is the way to peace, when the answer that Jace came to was so much simpler. If she'd had it her way, the fighting would have just continued in circles, amassing casualties until one side killed off the other. And her lack of growth is seen in how she desperately tries to pull Powder out of Jinx, when there's nothing there to pull. Years have passed, and Jinx is not the same person she was when she was a literal child. She could never be. And Vi using the names of the people Jinx "failed" as a way to get through to her was the worst possible decision. All she was doing was tormenting her with reminders of her lowest points and the demons that had basically haunted her since childhood. She was fighting for a version of Jinx that she thought was better than the one she saw, one that didn't even exist, because Vi couldn't justify fighting for the Jinx that exists now. Silco was no better, of course, telling her that she's perfect and beyond reproach as a cope for his own insecurities after his falling out with Vander, when clearly she's broken and unstable and could definitely use some therapy. But killing yet another person she loved to protect Vi was the final straw, and now Jinx accepts that a "jinx" is all she'll ever be. Time to fuck shit up for the hell of it. Who needs peace? And none of this is not a dig toward Vi's character, in fact it's the opposite. I really appreciate the boldness of ending the season with the protag no farther along in her growth than she started. Because of course she would be, she literally just got out of prison. So it'll be interesting to see how she evolves from here

Dammmmmm, this show is so dark. RWBY, Arcane, and Witch From Mercury really form the perfect trifecta in my mind and heart. All three have truly traumatized me, especially Witch From Mercury though (and RWBY v9).

don't cry, your perfect. the worst and best thing he could have ever said as his final words, the best, because it's the most affirmation and care she is ever really gonna receive, and the worst, because it's now cementing her in this personality, pushing and telling her its ok to be who she is, but by doing so, she will likely never receive any care above what silco gave her. what a AMAZING dynamic, i love them both so much.
