I'm glad that you seem to be liking Ray Chen some more. He absolutely crushed it in this competition (well, he won, so it would be weird if he didn't crush it lol)! Charles did a good job keeping the groove down with this song and kept it fairly tasteful overall. While it was nothing like the original bass part, that's not the point of these "hears for the first time" challenges. It's more just to see how a different bassist would interpret this song, which is exactly what Charles did, and quite well at that. Love him adding the foam to give himself a more vintage sound Matt Braunger absolutely crushed this set and I think it's hilarious him calling his young friend a "delicious kid" 🤣🤣🤣 That final story of his about a bender in his 20s that somehow landed him and a group of strangers on a boat sends me 🤣🤣🤣 I love that you were apprehensive about this video because of Ray's editing style, then you enjoyed the video, including the editing (for the most part lol). I'm glad that you're appreciating Ray more because you'll be hearing more from him. When, I don't know lol Yeah, I just had to include the Tonguing techniques for Flute video because of the wordplay. Seems like the chat certainly enjoyed it 🤣🤣🤣 I also find it funny that you watched the ad, even after saying "great another ad" lol, because she's gorgeous. It's even funnier because it's basically the same ad that runs with all of Ray's videos. In fact, the Tonic app which the ad in this video is about, is actually an app developed by Ray to help others (and himself) to spruce up practicing a bit. Jemma absolutely crushed this challenge (honestly, no one has really blown this challenge yet lol)! So, you've seen a few pianists do this challenge: Sangah Noona learning Rush E on the spot, Victoria Theodore (who you remembered) learning the Interstellar theme, Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater hearing Alicia Keys and Tenacious D (Jack Black) for the first time, and Justin Stanton from Snarky Puppy hearing Dua Lipa for the first time (you seemed to really enjoy that one, but since it wasn't an attractive woman, you didn't remember 😉). The birthday video (Nahre Sol) isn't a part of this challenge and was actually a video demonstrating the complexities of piano composition. More "hears for the first time" videos coming, well, this month lol

My high school was quite large (around 3,000 students at its peak) so we didn't just have one band, we had 4. From worst to best: cadet band, concert band blue, concert band silver, and symphonic band. We had dozens of trumpet players at our school, so I had to climb my way to second chair in symphonic band during my senior year. As a freshmen, I was first chair in concert band blue; as a sophomore, I was 5th chair in concert band silver; as a junior, I was 2nd chair in concert band silver; then, finally what happened in senior year. So, I was almost the best trumpet player in the school during my senior year, almost. We were required to try out for the all-district band during my senior year, too. Around 250 trumpet players tried out and I was ranked around 40th out of those 250. I missed out on the all-district band reserves by about 10 spots. So, not to shabby. Then, I didn't touch my trumpet after high school lol.

I'm glad you enjoyed Martina DaSilva (the chat seemed to enjoy her a lot more than Highline lol). She is half-Brazilian and half-white. From what I gather, she actually makes a lot of her own clothes, and yes, the drip is immaculate ❤️. You did seem to enjoy Highline Vocal Jazz more than the chat, but I could tell you were vibing with Martina and her many guest stars way more. I'll be incorporating more music into my requests (mainly with the Twitch requests), but, don't worry, Martina and Hansi aren't going anywhere 😉😏

Yeah, I played the "I Am Enough" card too early. Should've made sure I was the last one lol
