Ok, here's a rundown of the characters, their distinguishing characteristics, and how to say their names. Coco (well, this one is obvious to pronounce lol): one of the 4 apprentice witches with blond hair, is the 2nd shortest apprentice, around 12 years old, main character Tetia (Teh-tee-ah): one of the 4 apprentice witches with pink hair, tallest apprentice, also around 12 years old, very bubbly and outgoing Richeh (Rhee-cheh [2nd syllable is pronounced like the word "meh" but with a "ch" sound instead of an "em" sound]): one of the 4 apprentice witches with blue hair, shortest apprentice, around 12 years old, quiet and introverted but with an attitude. Agott (Ah-go-toe): one of the 4 apprentice witches with black hair, 2nd tallest apprentice, around 12 years old, introverted with an impatient attitude. Qifrey (Key-free): master witch to the 4 aforementioned girls (has silver/white hair), one of his eyes is covered due to a mysterious reason, is very patient with his students. Olruggio (Ohl-roo-gee-oh [the "g" is like the "g" in the word "guard"]; if the name is still difficult for you to say, you can call him Olly): dark-haired witch that lives with Qifrey and the 4 girls at the atelier, is known as a "watchful eye" (kind of like human resources for the atelier), is known for inventing spells. Easthies (EE-ahs-thees): dark-haired captain of the Knights Moralis, the upholders of witch law. The other members of the Knights Moralis haven't been named yet in the anime. Tartah (well, this one is pronounced the way it looks, too lol): grandson of the wand/penmaker Nolnoa, has silver eyes, as well as silverwash syndrome (the story's version of color blindness where a person can only see in shades of silver), is very keen and attentive Nolnoa: the proprietor of the magic stationary shop in Kahln and the grandfather of Tartah So, yes, Qifrey did indeed erase Nolnoa's memory (memory erasure is the only legal spell you can use directly on a person's body; all other spells cast directly on a person's body are illegal; Easthies thought that Coco might have conducted illegal magic on herself to produce the magic that destroyed the landscape, but he found no such evidence on her). Qifrey can be a very scary guy. He had a dangerous look on his face at the end of episode 5 in order to silence Nolnoa about the incident of the girls disappearing and the casting seal that trapped them in that dimension. The 5 witch exams are: The consent of the crown (first exam), which must be completed before becoming an apprentice. After passing this exam, the apprentice can choose their master. The sincerity of the shield (second exam). Passing this exam means the apprentice can practice magic in public as long as they are accompanying their master. The query of qui vive (third exam). Passing this exam means the apprentice can take on the dragon at the Tower of Tomes. Completion of this step allows you to study at the library The goodwill of her grace (4th exam). Passing this exam means the apprentice becomes a full-fledged witch. The words of the wise (5th exam). Passing this exam means a witch can become a master and take on an apprentice. So, remember with Agott, that, before she was a part of this atelier, all she knew was rejection from her family, peers, and the magical world at large, so she's not used to someone with purely good motives like Coco. Also, you know I had to leave you on that cliffhanger 😉 Seeing the end of episode 9 had me real nervous the first time I watched it! Ok, we finish season 1 next month with the last 4 episodes
