I actually had a lot of fun editing this video. It took a bit longer than I had originally wanted it to, but the intro was really fun to put

I actually had a lot of fun editing this video. It took a bit longer than I had originally wanted it to, but the intro was really fun to put together. I wanted to bring a different presence to the reaction and make it unique, so I made another horror-esque intro trailer.

For some reason, I feel like I have a knack for these.

Anyways, I don’t feel so good, Mr. Stark…

We’re definitely getting into the thick of it and boy my sanity being affected so harshly …

Anyway, I’m still working on the Patreon Custom Requests and hopefully I can get to finishing the edits during this week, but it is a bit of a stretch. I’m actually getting ready as we speak (or probably it’s already done) for another booster to keep me up-to-date. And with the holidays this week, my availability is going to be very limited, and I still want to get these videos done. I will pace myself out and rest what I need to, but I wanted to keep all of you informed.

This episode shows really well how Salem treats all her subordinates differently to get them to do what she wants. Hazel (and Watts) want revenge on people that Salem opposes (Ozpin and Ironwood). On top of that Hazel wants a new world without huntsmen academies, the thing he thinks caused his sister’s death. Tyrian just wants to see the world burn so Salem doesn’t really need to lie to him about her true goals. She just needs to use his devotion to her when she feels he needs to be reminded of his place (see Volume 4). And Cinder is an interesting case. Salem did have problems reeling her in because the motivation of gaining as much power as possible doesn’t really lend itself to the same type of manipulation. But Salem found another way: She tortured her in the same way she was tortured in the past. But she stops and gives Cinder everything she wants, which is supposed to show Cinder that Salem is different. The thing is, Salem didn’t have some sort of epiphany. If Cinder would have stayed put, Salem would have send her after Watts regardless. She used the situation to her advantage and it looks like it worked. She had Cinder’s loyalty again (for now). Also you can see how Cinder tries to emulate Salem with Mercury and Emerald. But it doesn’t work because she doesn’t seem to get that Salem is using different tactics on different people. If she wanted to be like Salem, she would use Mercury’s fear of leaving everything he ever knew and Emerald’s clear devotion to her to reign them in. But instead she just treats them like they are beneath her. And from Mercury’s open rebellion and Emerald’s facial features she seems to loose the little loyalty they had left for her.

I cannot wait for you to finish this season just so I can rewatch it all in one go. Also you were talking at the time but when Mercury and Tyrian were getting on the ship towards Vacuo, Emerald and Mercury locked eyes for a sec and you could just see in Mercury’s face that he may not like what he’s doing but he can’t escape it either. That’s how I saw that moment, it’s a subtle detail that I hope is explored the next time he comes up

there is so much in these episodes…the thing that gets me about Cinder is that she was literally 10. She was being tortured and enslaved by the people who “adopted” her, forced to clean 24/7 and eat leftover scraps. I know the huntsman was trying to help her, and he may not have known the extent of her abuse, but he knew she was in a bad situation. It seems short sighted to teach her how to fight without trying to help her get away from that abuse. And when she finally snapped, instead of reasoning with her, he immediately started fighting her, and you can see in her face her fury at being betrayed by the one person that ever helped her. It doesn’t excuse anything she’s done at all, but it does explain why she is the way she is.

Also, when v8 was coming out, this was the last episode before about 6-7 weeks of hiatus for Christmas and stuff. We were left with that for almost two months 😭 and the worst part was that one of the writers of v8 tweeted and basically said “buckle up, the second half is even worse” and those two months felt like years lol. thankfully, we don’t have to wait nearly that long until the next reaction! loving these and i’m excited for the next one! take care!

so cinder's backstory explains a lot about what how she dresses! for her presenting as high femme--the heels, the outfits, her hair--it's all a symbol of what she views as power and strength! it's that moment on the bridge with all the baddies, that emerald realizes what she has with cinder is the same as what cinder has with salem! also notice how emerald and neo were set apart from them!!!

RIP that atlas soldier that was in the first wave of troops in the front line just trying to protect their home and families in a futile hasty defense..Say what you will about atlas but I imagine most of the people are just every day joes just trying to live life apart from ironwood, the council and the rich elite but hey is isn’t that the same thing in any first world countries. The people are just caught in the middle of all of this while ironwood plays a losing chess game against Salem.

Also It’s crazy because the majority of Salem’s followers have sever Stockholm sydrum with her or another follower. It’s just a viscous self destructive cycle. Well, apart from tyrian.

It speaks volumes to her character as a villain and her ability to inspire people using their most insecure traits against them. She is truly a well written incredible villain.
