It was confirmed that the suit of armor Weiss fought in her trailer was actually a geist grimm possessing a suit of armor, the arma gigas. They didn't state this outright until the manga though, where they filled in the story about why she fought it. Just in case you don't know, this series is considered "canon adjacent". So it's not 100% canon to the main show, but it's more of a "this could have happened in an alternate timeline" sort of thing.

Very well job solidifying weise as best girl

Ok, so I have thoughts. I like seeing more of the girls before coming to Beacon. However, this first episode feels incredibly rushed. They went through 2 trailers and the first chapter of volume 1, while giving us new and/or expanded scenes in just over 20 minutes. This is the same problem I have with Marvel's What If? show on Disney+. Also, the action is shorter and not as smooth. Not a huge fan of the voice acting either, but that's also (sometimes) true of the original series, so yeah. Having said all this, it was still fun, but I would definitely go with the original series over this. I might check out this series in Japanese with English subs, which could rectify some of the issues I have with the voice acting

Kasey Wilson

i might be biased but i loved this episode, it has nice camera work, better voice acting, and visuals on point. i do agree with the shorter fights, but that be due to how good the visuals look. i like the fact that is not a direct copy of the original.
