Where the city geographically is you see for a second in the teleportation scene, it looks kinda like the Panama Canal, and it’s wealth is built on being the centre of trade routes between continents and letting all kinds of nations and empires pass through (and it’s on the ocean, which was the original thought that made me write this)

I love how the monkey along with the neon/blacklight coloring was a panic symbol before it was Jinx’s icon. We see it here, as well as in the last episode after Claggor pulls that lever. It’s really fitting that their family’s emergency alarm system is what Jinx adopted as her primary style and iconography. It really shows how deep-seeded her guilt and self loathing is.
