I don't usually film my demos but this is a COUNTRY song I'll be working  on for the next week or two. Should be EPIC by the end? Which is a  weird word to use for country, but hey. BIG OLE country waltz where a  guy loses his car AND baby at the same time? PHEW!

With My Baby on Board - Key of E, Capo 4(Concert pitch in parenthesis)

C(E) G(B) Am(C#m)

Things keep on hittin’ a little harder each day

F(A) C(E) G(B)

Can’t seem to own nothin’. They know I can’t pay

F(A)  C(E)  G(B)    E7(G#7)

Got a lien on the trailer, a lease on the car

F(A)  C(E) G(B)    C(E)

Still using dad’s speakers and a borrowed guitar

CHORUS:

   C/E(E/G#) F(A) C(E)

So goodbye Toyota, Goodbye Ford

F(A) C(E)

Seems all I ever had just drove away in a Honda Accord

G(B) F Em Dm (A G#m F#m)

Don’t say you’re gonna miss me after you’re gone

F(A)   G(B)

Lord knows it’s not right, I wave at the taillights

F(A)   G(B)    C(E)

So goodbye Corolla, with my baby on board

The usurers got smarter since cars drive themselves

Did I miss a payment? The bank app can’t tell

Stretched out in the back seat and at the stroke of midnight

it drove back to the dealer with my baby inside

CHORUS

Dm(F#m) F(A)

All the riches they’ve scraped from this town and they’re

C(E)    G(B)

Never gonna leave enough for us to live a little on

Bb(D)  F(A)

How’s a man supposed to keep from falling behind when he

G(B)

Can’t get to work ‘cause his car’s gone and left on its own

KEY CHANGE - F# (CAPO 4 STILL)

CHORUS  D/F#(F#/A#) G(B) D(F#)

So goodbye Toyota, Goodbye Ford

G(B) D(F#)

Seems all I ever had just drove away in a Honda Accord

   A(C#)    G F#m Em (B A#m G#m)

Blink hard and kiss me. Start singing our song

G(B)   A(C#)

Lord knows it’s not right, I wave at the taillights

  G(B)    A(C#)

They know I’m comin’. The boss best start runnin’

G(B) A(C#)   D(F#)

So goodbye Corolla, with my baby on boardOutro: C, G, D (E, B, F#)
