Alright, Let's Talk TS4 & Paralives (Patreon)
Content
Yesterday I asked patrons for feedback on paralives mods. Did you want them, what is a fair early access structure, and well, do you even really care about that game at all?
I received quite a few answers, many positive about Paralives, but also a few that made it clear this game is at least a little divisive among my supporters. I know some of you are here for my TS4 mods and solely that.
So Let's Clear the Air
If you're here just for my Sims 4 mods, don't worry, nothing is slowing down or being replaced there. My Sims 4 mods will be continue to be developed and maintained just like they always have. In fact, in case you've missed it, I have two mods in early access right now - Searchable Recipes and Better Exceptions v3.17
I know getting posts for Paralives mods might be annoying if you're only interested in The Sims 4 mods. Unfortunately, I don't really have a good way to mute those posts for you. The only way I really could, would be to make a separate patreon - which would force those who are interested in both to basically double-pledge to me.
Obviously I'm not going to do that, as that would be unfair. If we put it this way:
Option A: Some members get some unwanted notifications.
Option B: Some members have to pay double for early access.
I hope we can all agree Option A is the better option.
What I can do is put paralives mods all in their own little collection. I'll also get around to putting my TS4 mods in collections. Any paralives posts will be clearly tagged as for Paralives, so those not wanting the email alerts for those could also set keyword filters in their email of choice to move or delete those emails, or simply choose to ignore them.
What's To Come
Firstly, I have several TS4 items lined up for releases and updates. As discussed previously, one of those is the 4.0 revamp of Better Exceptions. I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about paralives modding and mods for it will probably be few and far between compared to my Sims 4 mods.
That said, I will probably be focusing on paralives content the next several days. A fresh codebase to work with might as well be catnip for developers, so I'm going to be exploring what I can do with that. Please do excuse any rush of paralives notifications you get from me for now. Once I've got a good footing with the code, my focus will be mainly on TS4 per usual.
Now about paralives mods - Yesterday I immediately released Sensible Camera Control for free on Steam Workshop. Since then, it's already reached over 18,000 downloads! As discussed with patrons, my early access going forward will be similar to how I do my TS4 mods. However due to the ease of creating some types of paralives mods, I'll scale the early access period down depending on amount of effort. If a mod was particularly quick and easy to complete, it will have a shorter early access period. When Paralives mods are officially released, they will go up on the Steam Workshop.
I'm currently working on a script mod for Paralives and it's definitely been fun to work on something fresh and challenging.
I hope those of you who aren't interested in Paralives understand and stick around for all of my usual Sims 4 work you know and love. Thanks everyone! 🧡
