I'm creating an overhaul mod for some general gameplay aspects of Eco Lifestyle that I don't agree with.

There's a few ways to accomplish what I'm aiming for, with their own pros and cons. If I can help it, I'll try to pick the method you guys vote on here.

Traditional Mod Method

Pros:

  • Installation is what most of you are used to, ts4scripts and package files.
  • Repairing/Updating TS4 in origin won't remove the mod.
  • Might give me more control over design decisions.

Cons:

  • Might not be as performance-optimized as the World method. Those with less powerful computers may notice a minor delay when the mod is doing its work.

World Method

Pros:

  • Performance optimized, mod will do its work near instantly, regardless of computer specs.

Cons:

  • Repairing/Updating TS4 will require this mod to be re-installed each time.
  • Mod features will be restricted to EA's system.
  • Involves replacing world files which is a process most players may not be familiar with.

    Thanks!

Hmm. World method doesn't appear to work well with EA's own stuff ("sharing is caring" fiasco). Would we be able to opt out of some of what your mod would overhaul in case for some it's like Awesome Mod was for TS2? Easiest for me would be traditional; however, I'm not sure what you have in mind, so I'm hesitant to commit atm. 🤔

The decision here specifically has to do with how the world conditions change based on eco footprint/policies. I don't believe either method would conflict with the sharing is caring policy.

Ruby Daniels

Oh, the eco footprint; that's an entirely different matter. In that case, I'd need a third option: either method is fine with me. Thanks for the clarification.

Oh yes. The gameplay is much too easy.

TwistedMexi

Seems like no contest 😅 I think was just able to improve the performance some more on the traditional method anyway. Will pursue that for now, thanks guys.

I'm all for the traditional method, performance optimization isn't a huge deal for me. I play with rather low settings personally even though my PC can handle it. Lol.

Athena Apollos

I just got a brand new, tricked-out gaming PC, so performance shouldn't be an issue.

I'm happy to sacrifice a little performance for your design vision.
