Our Red String chapter 1 will be released tomorrow! This is the final bit of teasing I'm doing before launching the Alpha, and it's to show you another aspect of the game where I've invested the money you entrusted me with!

Backgrounds are very labour intensive and expensive to make. The only way of producing backgrounds I could afford money and time-wise when I was developing GGGB was editing and painting over stock photos, but that's not the case anymore! I've hired professional artists to create vivid and highly-detailed scenarios, custom made for ORS! I think they add a lot of character to the game and improves it's look and production values to a whole new standard, in sum with the new sprites. ORS is a game to be played in Full-Screen!

I'm biased of course, but I think the game looks amazing, especially when compared to my last project... I almost feel bad seeing how ugly GGGB looks in comparison! But I'm equally proud to see how far we've come and super excited with what's to come. The User Interface has also been greatly improved, but you'll have to wait and play ORS to see it!

VN means Visual Novel, so improved visuals will probably make a big difference in the gaming experience! On a similar note, that's why so many games with 3D models doesn't do anything for me - the characters look basically identical even though they are from different games and developers.

It’s a huge difference, looks stunning!

RockStrongo

I like the new design very much. It looks really good with the new backgrounds. I'm excited for the release.

Sin Art

You are right, that IS a new standard of this sort of games :D after that game, all others need to change dramatically :D

Aaron

I can not wait for the alpha release!!!

stazo

Personally I preferred the old design

Matthew Cook

It looks amazing and I didn’t think it could get better

Ver Greeneyes

Indeed, the backgrounds do mesh with the character art much better. I must say the character art itself also looks much more refined!

Sexagesimalian

There's something just slightly off-putting about the new art. I'll call it "trying too hard." I'd suggest pulling back just a little. For example, in the first picture, the shading on blondie (forgive me for not going back and looking up his name) makes his neck tendons stand out too much and his shirt is either twisted or he's hiding something under it.

David Inlong

It really does look HD now. Well done.

Dashole

This is AWESOME!

I actually think I prefer the old GGGB art style. I think that's more of a testament to your own skill as an artist, Eva, than anything else, by making those stock photos look so good. Thank you for the teaser -- your work is impressive, as always.
